Start Stop Error, ECP and Engine Light after not using a car for a bit
the problem I had was with the battery. I had a new one fitted at a reputable Battery shop who coded it but they didn't do it properly and the parameters were wrongly set. I took in into Skoda who recoded it. Have not had a problem since

Start Stop Error, ECP and Engine Light after not using a car for a bit
Thanks for that, I spoke to Skoda and they don't recommend disconnecting the battery. I have booked us into Sofitel hotel Terminal 5 which has an underground carpark so the car will be under cover and not left outside. Crucial in the winter

Swapping Battery
I have emailed the dealership to see what they say. If I have to leave it connected and it discharges while we are away I will just call the RAC as we are members. Mike

Swapping Battery
Hi, Thanks for that, the problem is I will be leaving the car at one of the hotels at Heathrow. I cannot afford to leave it unlocked so disconnecting the battery is out. By the way have had no problems with the car since it was at the dealership.

Swapping Battery
Are there any problems with disconnecting the battery for 3 weeks as we are going on holiday later in the year. Does it affect any settings? will the battery need re coding again?

Start Stop Error, ECP and Engine Light after not using a car for a bit
We are going away next winter for 3 weeks to visit our son in Australia. I am going to disconnect the neg terminal when we get to the Airport hotel. Is there anything that will be affected when I disconnect and re connect 3 weeks later that I might have to re-set

Start Stop Error, ECP and Engine Light after not using a car for a bit
Just got the car back after 3 days. It wasn't the ECU. The EPC light was coming on because when they checked the coding . At first inspection the battery looked like it was coded fine but when we drilled down and looked at the data behind the coding it turned out the wrong battery specs had been entered so the car thought it had a bigger battery than it did thus wouldn't allow the start stop to work as it always thought the battery required a charge. After 3 days they cannot find anything wrong with Coil4 I will just have to monitor. They didn't charge me a penny

Wonder if it is connected to the CU97 recall in 2018

Start Stop Error, ECP and Engine Light after not using a car for a bit
Car has been with the Skoda garage for 2 days, just got back to me saying , "They have completed wiring checks and diagnosis and the outcome is indicating there maybe a fault with the engine control unit however we are not certain. We are continuing to test the vehicle as it is not faulting at all. We will continue to investigate/road test the vehicle and see if we can re-create the issue. We don't want to commit to the outcome yet as the unit is expensive" They are keeping it another day.

Going in on the 4th. Also found out that they did a service on my gearbox at 40.000 and it didn't need it for my type of box- Start Stop Error, ECP and Engine Light after not using a car for a bit
Skoda did not change the coil that was another garage. Anyway it's going in on the 4th- Start Stop Error, ECP and Engine Light after not using a car for a bit
XXXXX UPDATE XXXXX Took the car to Skoda this morning because of the engine light being on last night. Although they didn't do a full diagnostic check because they didn't have the room to fit me in, they took it into the workshop. They came back and said it has 2 wiring faults. 1. in the loom don't remember which but the 2nd wiring fault was between the connector to Coil D (the coil I had replaced) and the Control Unit. Booked in for 4th Jan for full Diagnosis and repair. Yes all 4 plugs were changed on 22nd July 2021. Half a mile from home this morning coming back from the garage the EPC light came on, the car started to Judder and the engine light flashed for about 10 seconds and then went out. Managed to get the car home. Turned it off and back on and the EPC went out. Contacted Skoda to see if I can get it in before the 4th Jan, Just waiting for a reply.- Start Stop Error, ECP and Engine Light after not using a car for a bit
Just rechecked and found they carried out a "DSG Transmission oil service including DSG Filter and seal. Replenish to correct level using special tool" On 22/07/21. Mileage was 44,617. Says on the Skoda servicing that this should be carried out at 40,000 miles- Start Stop Error, ECP and Engine Light after not using a car for a bit

Wife just brought the car home the Engine light came on just before getting home. I turned the engine on and off but it still there. I'll Phone Skoda tomorrow- Start Stop Error, ECP and Engine Light after not using a car for a bit
Looking through the paper work from Skoda I found that the car was recalled back to Skoda in July/Aug 2018 for 97CU which is Energy Management of Vehicle Battery. Could this be the problem with my Car? Also found that the recall was for the: On the affected vehicles the onboard supply control unit must be reprogrammed (see criterions)."- Start Stop Error, ECP and Engine Light after not using a car for a bit
It was the 40,000 mile service done under the plan, they didn't do the gearbox.- Start Stop Error, ECP and Engine Light after not using a car for a bit

I have done that, now I just wait for the EPC light coming on.- Start Stop Error, ECP and Engine Light after not using a car for a bit
Sent email to Skoda saying I am not happy just got a reply OK, I am not off in the next few weeks (except bank holidays). If the EPC light comes on while driving come down and see me while it is on and I will steal a technician from the workshop in a hope that we can see if we can find a clue to what is causing the EPC light to illuminate. I think that is the only way forward at this stage. Hopefully the EPC light will come on soon - Start Stop Error, ECP and Engine Light after not using a car for a bit
