  1. Virtually the same as Australia
  2. Has nothing to do with any scandals and is a legal requirement in most countries that speedos do that Look it up in the regs if you dont believe us.
  3. Posters are saying their speedo is UNDER READING ITS NOT its OVER reading as required by law. Dont know about Europe but in Australia the ADR Rules state that a speedo can over read by up to 10kph at 100kph + - 4% so legally it could read 114 and still be legal. IT may NOT READ LESS THAN ACTUAL SPEED. Most are set at +4 to +7 My TIguan was 7 over at 100kph and by using a OBD Eleven I changed the wheel size to bring it bang on. Legal Wheel and tyre sizes are on the plaque in your fuel cap so if you stick to them you will be OK Changing drive modes is for gears and suspension settings and will have nothing to do with speedos
  4. I really couldnt care less I only use capitals for emphasis. No other reason. How much is the subscription to Skoda connect. From what I have read you get quite a bit of info over it. We dont get any software updates etc as dealer isnt interested. So why dont you subscribe. Then you wouldnt have to come on here to ask questions about simple things. I set out all the procedure for offline updates as have been doing in various ways for years, to help you and you poke **** at me. Makes me wonder why I bother if this is the reception I get for doing something as inoffensive as using capitals. I apologise for your thin skin.
  5. I know it doesnt do it because I have tried and it wont as it checks the map version before updating . It will DOWNGRADE but if map the same it says it cant do it. Has been consistently the same since 2010 on various Nav units THATS HOW I KNOW from way back in the day when we used to pirate the maps on another forum and VAG threatened it with legal action Also have been mixing between Skoda and VW portals for maps since then as well. Same **** different label. As I also said you in England have a different method of doing it as we have to off air updates as dont have WIFI connection to anything. Seems from your last post you are doing an offline update????? Why??????
  6. If you read through the thread you will see what happens and how to do an OFFLINE update as we do in Australia. As I understand it those of you in European Countries can do an OVER THE AIR update First thing you should do is check your map version BEFORE updating and then again AFTER to see whats changed. What you THINK should happen and what ACTUALLY happens are two different things. In my 14 years of updating maps it has NEVER said what its updating to as you already know that when you downloaded it and should check as I have said. The only thing I have found it wont do is reinstall the same version over the top of itself.
  7. Oh dear only 200miles Try on our west coast from Broome to Port Hedland a bit over 600km and only roadhouse with petrol halfway on the whole trip. We have cattle stations with a driveway that says Station House 72kms and are probably half the size of Great Britain as are measured in hundreds of Sq Km never mind acres.
  8. What i do is d/load the map from either VW or Skoda onto my HDD. I then put what ever stick I want to use into the computer and I then unRAR it (unzip if you use that) onto the stick that you are using. Then just put it in the car . My one with music on it is a USB C stick. the one I used yesterday is an Adapter for micro SD to USB A into an adapter from USB A to USB C. . Have a few of them for my dashcams. Either work equally well. You can, after you download the file Unzip it to your HDD and copy the whole thing onto the USB device if you want but is just an extra step. After unzipping you should have a list of 21 folders and 1 file at the bottom This is for the AUSTRALIA update. Dont know about other regions Shot of whats on my SD Card
  9. On previous time i updated I used a USB C stick that had 1200 music tracks on it and map updated OK Just added the map and car found it ok
  10. If you are in Europe surely you have updates over the air . We do NOT have that in AUS so have to do an "offline" update. Did my Kamiq yesterday and here is what I did Formatted a micro SD card downloaded the TAR file from VW Used a 21 TRoc as the Model and MIB3 (Discover PRO) (no new maps on Skoda) unRARe'd the file to the card. Put it in a USB C adapter and stuck it in the car. Will go for a drive over weekend and it will update from 22.12 to whatever the new update is.
  11. Well I dont see the millions and millions of car owners that only have space savers lining up to change them. I dont like them much either but they do the job and you can drive on them ,just slower. In AUS there are places open all weekend in most areas.
  12. Unless you live in the middle of nowhere a spacesaver is adequate Ive only had 1 puncture in last 14 years. Son has A Fiesta and got him a mag that was factory for $25 and a s/h tyre. Put some styrene around boot to lift the floor and its all good
  13. So ring a few wreckers A POLO wheel will fit and heaps of them wrecked MY LE actually has a spacesaver and a tool kit so why hasnt yours.. Poverty Pack maybe???????
  14. ITS THE HUB PITCH YOU HAVE TO ALLOW FOR POLOS AND KAMIQS HAVE 5/100 STUD PITCH SO OTHER MODELS WONT FIT AS THEY ARE 5/112.
  15. The Kamiq is on the POLO platform and therefore the wheels as in a Polo have a pitch of 5/100 Golfs and other VW are 5/112 Must be some been wrecked with the kit in them
  16. Do what it say open the folder you downloaded and copy the contents onto your USBC stick and put it in the car and go for a drive for 30 mins and it will update WITHOUT TELLING YOU do check your map version before you start and after you have updated
  17. Why do you want to nothing in there that you cant reach from the front
  18. Yes you put a thin body tool down the outer end of the s/s button and gently lever it upwards or you cna do it at the other end which is a bit more solid The whole piece comes out and you will find you have to carefully tuck the cable in and under the whole thing as there isnt much room in there
  19. Shame you bought such a crappy dash cam Only place for a Garmin is in the bin. A friend bought one and I installed it for him. Was about the worst of the 3 cheap crap cameras he bought
  20. It tells you on each app in the program on your phone how many each use. They also cost the same to reverse . is a waste using them as you dont really know what an App changes whereas you can see what you have codded and reverse it reasonably easily
  21. Also if you have bought a PRO why are you worried about credits I have about 600 from getting a bank by watching ads each day for several months but have used hardly any as easier and better to do coding
  22. Its a shame people dont post in the correct threads This one is for 2021/22 Scala models and he is asking about a 2019 model which has vastly different access than later models I CANT DISABLE S/S in my wifes MAY 15 2021 built Kamiq which is a Scala in a different coat. Have tried everything and only way is to buy the cheat cable from AliExpress and as the trim is very tight and seems a bit fragile I have been reluctant to pull it apart to fit the cable
