Retrofit of the steering wheel
Which one of these would support heating and travel assist but NOT a rear wiper? Thanks.

You also need to have memory buttons. The memory module saves the position of of the mirrors. That allows the car to remember the position to return the mirror glass to when you drive off.

Infotainment System Restarting endlessly
I'd suggest looking at Skoda UK's press release section - if that's a thing. If you were to ask me about Australian spec changes I could tell you a tone. But to be fair we only get option packs and not individual items that can be optioned - plus our colour choice is very limited. So it's much easier to track changes. But even with official press releases they don't tell you all the minute changes that the marketing reps think are insignificant. A thread a bit like this one for the Saab 9-3 (I owned a 9-3 Aero many years ago) on the Saab Central forum is what I'm thinking. It details everything from minor to major changes.

Infotainment System Restarting endlessly
Not a problem. Sometime around mid 2023 Skoda added an extra view to the virtual cockpit. Most Mk4 Octavias with Maps and the MOI3 system (bigger 10.25" infotainment display) can display this first view: However, only Octavias with the updated virtual cockpit get the additional dials and map view like this: It's minor but I do prefer the second view as that's is what was available in my previous car a Kamiq Monte Carlo. From what I've read the earlier virtual cockpits don't have enough processing power. Mine tends to struggle when there are a lot of 3D buildings e.g. I'm driving through the Melbourne CBD. Skoda started installing this clusters in late 2022 and enabling the additional view from factory sometime in 2023 - in other words some cars from late 2022 can have this enabled via coding e.g. OBDeleven if they don't have it from factory. I'd still buy a 2021 over a 2022 or 2023 though, because some of them lost features due to component shortages - at least for us in Australia, I'd consult a UK user on changes for your market - side note a model year changes thread would be a great idea for the forum because Skoda isn't alway clear on the changes they make.

Infotainment System Restarting endlessly
There have been hardware revisions, but nothing noticeable by the end user. However, seperate to the infotainment system, they did introduce a new version of the virtual cockpit display from 2023. It's a bit smoother and has more views, such as the traditional tachometer plus maps. But it took a while for anyone to pick up on the change. The latest version for the infotainment system is 1941. You can check in settings > system information. If it hasn't been installed then ask the dealership to do it for you as part of the dealer. Anything older than 1896 and it will be buggy as hell. I've got an early 2021 Octavia RS and it's still receiving updates. So far it's been getting faster and more stable as updates have been released. The screenshot above is from my car, but it's from late last year. I've updated the maps since then. I'm just waiting on my climatronic module to be updated to fix my temperature sync issue - but that's a dealer being a PITA issue because the update has been around since September 2021.

I used the German configurator and found a photo of the new 10" display, similar but minus the home and menu button.

Another thought, it might be possible to swap the just the glovebox unit because the new Octavia's are supposedly keeping the 10.25" display for entry level vehicles - although no photos have been released of what that looks like. But as you suggest just because they physically fit and connect, doesn't mean they'll be compatible in respect to software/coding. I'll be keeping an eye on drive2.ru because they do some crazy stuff on there.

Retrofit 13" Enyaq Display to Octavia Mk4
Thanks for chiming in. I've already got a MOI3 not a MEN3. I'm not even sure you can get a MEN3 unit in Australia - our base models are usually equivalent to a UK mid-spec as Skoda is positioned as a semi-premium brand here. But I've got a 2020 Skoda Octavia RS with everything but Skoda Connect (OCU), heated steering wheel, and 360 camera - because none of those options are offered here. I only posted the picture of the MEN3 to demonstrate to @Mario_Delgado that there is more space behind the display than an MOI3 display would suggest. But to recap what I want to do, is see if it's possible to fit an Enyaq 13" display in place of my MOI3 display - achieving the look of the new facelift Octavia minus the the MIB4 of course. But I have no idea if my infotainment unit would support that - I don't know if anyone would aside from Skoda because I can't see anyone who has tried it.

Retrofit 13" Enyaq Display to Octavia Mk4
Coding I'm not too worries about, but my biggest concern would be component protection - because I doubt my local dealer would be any help with that. Sizing wise, the two bolts facing backwards appear compatible and there may be sufficient space back there, as the basic Swing unit doesn't have a seperate box and therefore needs the extra space - not as deep as the Enyaq unit but close. I've attached a photo of back of the Bolero and also a photo from the fitting manual - item 2 is the air conditioner control module. I'm wondering what will happen with MIB3 development once MIB4 is more widely released. The new MIB4 system seems like a half generation forward like how MIB2 was to MIB2.5. From what I've seen of the MIB4 it looks like the mapping remains identical and the control screens for other modules look functionally the same (e.g. driver assist, air conditioning, vehicle settings). It's basically a UI update with more processing power - which makes me wonder about future retrofit possibilities.

Reversing camera fitting
I'd have look on Alliexpress. This one appears to be correct but minus the washer: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005006189942059.html?src=google&src=google&albch=shopping&acnt=708-803-3821&slnk=&plac=&mtctp=&albbt=Google_7_shopping&albagn=888888&isSmbAutoCall=false&needSmbHouyi=false&albcp=19374042898&albag=&trgt=&crea=en1005006189942059&netw=x&device=c&albpg=&albpd=en1005006189942059&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAiA_5WvBhBAEiwAZtCU77ci_riX-nyOxv71LBLzIUBn9jQc_Wk0KFHR6_VtvRUDlePnqIyD7RoC3pEQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds&aff_fcid=073b2fd39a2a4daa865e1272ae641adc-1709602450972-00955-UneMJZVf&aff_fsk=UneMJZVf&aff_platform=aaf&sk=UneMJZVf&aff_trace_key=073b2fd39a2a4daa865e1272ae641adc-1709602450972-00955-UneMJZVf&terminal_id=dc3a13736eae47aca38faf06efa8dedf&afSmartRedirect=y

What is the current software version?
Our software releases line up (generally) with the Leon, Formentor, and Golf 8. However, sometimes cars come from the factory with versions in-between the major releases. Volkswagen have recently released 1969 and I have read in an owners group that someone's new Octavia was delivered with 1969. So it's only a matter of time. From all accounts 1969 is the most stable and fluid version yet. So I'm keen to see it released.

Bolera stupidityfor buying Maps and Traffic signs recognition and live data
Couldn't agree more! I'm from Australia and I could only dream of having TSR enabled. Our unique speed signage (e.g. school zones) means that Volkswagen decided not to offer it for our market. But it seems as though it was developed for our market but never released because the speed sign designs are there and the fusion mode will add an additional sign on the MIB unit - so its reading them but not displaying them. As a retrofitter are you able to purchase SWAP codes outside of the store? We don't get Skoda Connect here either and I'd be keen to try and get it working. On the older vehicles/pre-SWAP you could enable it and it would function with warning message. The photo below shows someone who enabled it on their Golf 7.5 with Australian signage.

Matrix Lights - Dazzling oncoming drivers
I live in regional Australia and I travelled about an 1.5 hours from Albury to Wagga Wagga and I was flashed by at 6 or 7 drivers. I was watching the beam pattern change and the segments dim etc... I came to the conclusion that the system was taking too long to react or that the distance in which it's calibrated to recognise a car and dip the beam is too far. One particular problem I have, is if I'm over taking a truck, I get to about the back of the cab before it re-illuminates the left-most section dazzling the truck driver. It doesn't happen every time, but enough that I've been flashed - which is particularly nasty if they have reverse/revenge flashers. I also wonder how the wheel alignment calibration factors into how effectively light assist works. I ask because I had my wheel alignment done by a tire shop about three months ago and they struggled to calibrate the steering angle sensor.

VRS seat tablet holder
Correction this appears to be for MQB not MQB Evo based Skoda's as the hole in the seat is inverted.

VRS seat tablet holder
It's launching with the new Kamiq and Scala - so it's available now. I ordered one yesterday from here: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/266693157359 The part number is 655061128. I googled the part number and a number site have it, including the Skoda e-Shop: https://eshop.skoda-auto.sk/en_SK/smart-holder---adapter-for-sport-seats/p/655061128

Options & Accessories Debate
I added the illuminated side sills, as the originals on RS had the finish fail. I like the more finished look of sill protectors. I've also been meaning to upgrade the factory floor mats to the 'premium' version which are supposedly higher quality. If you're looking for a comprehensive supplier of genuine accessories then I'd highly recommend Kopacek.

Retrofit 13" Enyaq Display to Octavia Mk4
Inspired by the Octavia Mk4 facelift I want to know if it would be possible to fit the 13" display from the 13" display in Octavia Nx/Mk4 - could it be done? My key questions are: - Has anyone tried it? Connecting the media box from an Octavia to an Enyaq 13" display? - Would the display work with the current media box? - Would the display have component protection? - Will it mount. Comparing these two listings the connections appear to be identical but there is a slight variation on the mounting bolts: Enyaq display: https://www.ebay.com/itm/305252666143 Octavia display: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/134745706302 If I found a display at a bargain price, I'd be willing to give it go. However, the last thing I would want to do is accidentally activate component protection - that'd be a nightmare to deal with at the local dealer.

VRS seat tablet holder
I guess you guys haven't heard the big news. A tablet holder is being launched with the facelift. Appears to be the same seats but with the new VRS logo. No part numbers yet.

Recall (Australia) on 2020-2024 MK4 Octavia & Superb (heatshield problem)
In one of the Facebook groups I saw the following post from an owner who has already had their car assessed: It's shocking to think the whole heatmat was missing.

Disable wireless charger?
I have found an alternate option on Aliexpress which is cooled and has fast charging. It has a genuine part number to 5CG980611A and appears to operate like the genuine charger, providing notifications via the infotainment about charging status. But it does appears to lack an antenna connection, so those of you with Skoda Connect won't get the signal boost. To get the cooling effect, you'll likely need to modify the rubber mat by putting holes in it. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005005894159804.html6302168fe391,tpp_buckets:668%232846%238107%231934&pdp_npi=4%40dis!AUD!148.35!103.85!!!690.00!483.00!%40210321dc17085634903877889ecdbe!12000036788855259!rec!AU!1836996802!&utparam-url=scene%3ApcDetailBottomMoreOtherSeller|query_from%3A I found some more info on a Russian forum with better pictures and charging tests: https://www.drive2.ru/l/667636380720956442/?page=0#comments I think I'll buy one in the next few weeks and give it a test.

Recall (Australia) on 2020-2024 MK4 Octavia & Superb (heatshield problem)
It appears to be cars delivered with the 2.0 TSI EA888 Gen3 engine. In addition to the Octavia and Superb, 26 examples of the Cupra Leon and Formentor were affected too: https://www.carexpert.com.au/car-news/cupra-formentor-and-leon-recalled The Cupra numbers lead me to believe that it's limited to the Cupra/Formentor VZ and not the base trim Cupra Leon/Formentor V and Octavia Limited Edition which use the lesser tuned EA888 - but that's a guess. Unlike Europe, Volkswagen Group Australia chose to deliver us with the EA888 Gen3 engine rather than the EA888 Gen4 EVO engine due to concerns about the high sulphur content in our fuel. It has the potential to damage the petrol particulate filters on the Gen4 engine. However, the Australian government has since agreed to implement tighter rules on the sulphur content in our fuel with effect from December, 2025. That means Euro6D engines can be offered in our market more readily. So in summary, it is likely an Australia/New Zealand specific issue*. It doesn't affect your style because you've got the 1.4 TSI. *or any markets that use the old 2.0 TSI Gen3 EA888 instead of the Gen4 Evo.

Roof console removal
I pulled mine out not that long ago. Accidentally ripped off the fascia panel. But in doing so I found out even cars without Skoda Connect have a hidden SOS button. The microphones are routed through it. But there appears to be a missing daughter board that allows the SOS button to function - I presume this is the SOS module that all the UK users complain about. I also took the opportunity to add some tesa tape to sort out the rattles - worked a treat.

Disable wireless charger?
I had an idea! I think that the new cooled wireless charging pads could be retrofitted to our housings. The rubber cover may also need to be cut to allow the vents to operate. But the connections look identical and the shape and size does too. This pad is from the new Passat with part number #3P0035502.
