  1. Gotta love seeing things move Edit: There sure are a lot of language packs though....
  2. Bit the bullet and started the update 10 minutes or so ago, started panicking a bit because it stayed for like 7 minutes with only a "back" button on the screen and nothing else, so instead of just biting the bullet, I was sweating bullets instead now, but the proper upgrade screen appeared and its now on the black screen after the first line went to 100%. Feels like updating a computer bios, after all these years they still give me horrid mini anxiety attacks whenever something stops for more than a minute 😅
  3. I was thinking and i might need it eventually so it would be a good idea to have it in storage, would you fine fellows provide me the link for the update please? Many thanks!
  4. As someone who works at a car assembly line, that's actually fantastic, BUT as someone who also has a car with that part and there's always a chance of failure.... well.... not that fantastic 😅 Thanks for the manual pics, they're incredibly helpful.
  5. Went on a mighty epic quest in Google worthy of King Arthur himself and was able to find pictures of the MK4 console's underside. I might try to remove it eventually based on these pictures. From what i'm seeing i'm almost 100% sure the noise comes from the white plastic rubbing against the black plastic. Silicone based or Dry PTFE lube WD-40 cans should do the trick.
  6. Is it anything like this video? I'm used to assembling the roof console on the T-Roc because assembling it is one of my jobs at the factory, but i've never seen how these new consoles are assembled so i haven't tried to fix it since i'm afraid of breaking something. This creaking is also present on the cover of the sensors and rear view mirror, they're not very noticeable while driving but on more rough roads there's a creak and crack every so often coming from there. I had a similar issue on the interior door handles and electric windows control modules but i fixed it with Silicone WD-40 and felt tape (regular WD-40 always dries up and noises return), kinda want to do the same on the roof consoles eventually. Untitled video - Made with Clipchamp.mp4
  7. That's a small but very useful change since it stops people from unnecessarily fiddling too much with the infotainment screen while driving, thanks for confirming.
  8. I have the 1803 which i believe came with the car back in 2021, I've had many OTA updates but never anything major. I always like to have things up to date but I'm afraid of updating because i don't have almost any issues with my car and from what I've seen on this forum, a lot of people have a lot of problems with their cars, although it seems that on the "infotainment restarting" thread people seem to be doing fine with the latest update provided by the fine fellows here. But your answers kinda answer one of my questions, which was if this is something that works like this for everyone or if it is a problem on my specific unit, seems to be the latter.
  9. Hello friends, is there a way to make the AC shortcut go directly to Classic AC instead of the Smart AC option? I never use that thing and it's annoying as hell having to go through the side buttons every time i start a new trip on the car.
  10. Will the 1941 update ever be released on OTA update? I'm still on 1803.
  11. I think they're pre-cuts for models that have amplifiers and such. I think all carpets are the same on all cars then in the factory when the cables are being installed, they remove the carpet bits that need to be removed depending on what extras the car has.
  12. Interesting, I've tried disabling the option and it seems to have helped, and it makes sense that even without the maps enabled it still uses their function since they're still there. I'll have to drive a few more times at night to make sure but it definitely seems to make things less bright above the road and on the side walks. Many thanks for the tip, Felix!
  13. My Octavia is from 2021, if i recall correctly i got the mail telling me the car was in the production line in January or beginning of February. How do i disable AFS? I don't have navigation on my car because it's pretty expensive and Waze works perfectly with wireless android auto while being free 😅 (i mean, doesn't work that perfectly since it restarts android auto every time i lose cell data connection but i think that's Xiaomi's and Android Auto's fault)
  14. What's the difference between the Bolero and Columbus? On the manual and online they seem to be exactly the same.
  15. Cool! One thing i've noticed is that i don't remember anyone with LED headlights on their cars ever flashing me, it's always old cars or newer cars with regular bulb headlights, i wonder if there's something about driving a car with regular lights that makes your eyes more sensitive to the white light from LEDs at night. Could just be coincidence though.
  16. I could do that, but won't it mess up the matrix leds of the high beam without being calibrated?
  17. It seems my matrix headlights low beam is dazzling people, but it seems to aim too high only while I'm driving. When I'm stopped, the headlights aim below other cars windows, but when I'm driving i can sometimes see the people inside the cars in front of me, i do get flashed quite a few times and yesterday a car i overtook on the motorway went behind me and turned on its high beams on purpose for a bit, i can only guess it was because of that.... which was kinda stupid if their objective was to get back at me since i have auto dimming mirrors anyway. Has anyone had this issue? I plan to take my car to the dealer but I'm sure they're going to say "everything seems to be normal"
  18. Got mine working today, i like it but in split screen mode the music window is too big and unfortunately Waze doesn't go full screen, but they said they're working on it so it's cool. Full screen map looks great on the google maps app. I definitely prefer this new version to the old. I just wonder if the Android Auto App is not crashing and restarting anymore when i lose cell data while driving, if that's fixed then i'm as happy as a pigeon in a car park.
  19. Mine has done that for a long time, check your data connection on the car screen when it happens and see if it happens when you lose mobile connection or mobile data. Mine always crashes when i lose or regain network or data connection, and i've heard of that happening on other brands, it's an Android Auto thing on some phones if i'm not mistaken. Driving around in mountain areas or in the middle of nowhere has me going crazy, it constantly crashes and relaunches to the point when sometimes i just get so annoyed that i simply connect the cable (this does not happen with the cable connection)
  20. That acoustic foam is exactly what i'd love to put in my door panels, i'm sure that alone would make a world of difference.
  21. Amazing project, it's also a thing i'd love to do to my Octavia, the road i take to work every day is a mess and it has developed so many rattles on the door panels that it's driving me crazy. The plastic door panels are a mess on my car and definitely my biggest complaint about it, and now to top things off the steering wheel airbag started developing a really loud rattle as well. My car hasn't even got 20k km on the clock and it's already a rattly mess... Anyway, keep us updated i'd love to see what you do so i can try the same eventually. In my case i'm thinking of eventually put some foam pads on the inside of the door panels, they're very hollow and squishy and there's always plastic noises when driving over even the slightest bumps.
  22. Yeah i think that's the touch switch for the light when the doors are open
  23. Fantastic, the boot on my car recently started making a lot of noise recently.
  24. Same here, i still have rattles on the door panels, only complaint i got of the car right now tbh, everything else works perfectly fine and I'm loving the car in general. Although i understand the road i take to work every day is a big culprit for the rattles it's still annoying how the "Rattles warranty" at least here in Portugal only lasts 6 months and it's VERY annoying to see how frail the plastic door panels are. I already removed one of the door panels on my Octavia and i was shocked to find that even my old Fiat Grande Punto from 2007 had more robust panels. I'll try to deal with this in the summer myself since the car is already 1 year old.
