Hi, current 1.6 diesel engine code for new cars?
I don't think there's a 1.6 engine any more. It's the 2.0 115hp or 150hp.

Skoda Connect app & web 🤦
I don't know if i'm paying for it after the 1st year trial, i'd just like to have more controls on the remote air con. All i can do is turn it on, there's no temperature control or anything, really basic and useless, specially because sometimes it doesn't even work.

Constant creaking and rattling from Boot
Just got back from VW (it's much closer than the Skoda dealer) and they fixed it by tightening the boot hinges, apparently they weren't tight enough. The problem for me is that I took the car there mainly to fix the rear passenger door panel rattle and they were surprised (as was I) to find that the warranty for "parasitic noises" is only good for 6 months.... Thanks Skoda... Could have told me that when i was buying the car, i don't mind fixing noises in the future myself, i work on a VW car plant so it's not like i'm afraid of messing around with car plastics since i deal with them every day, and i can always ask the people who assemble the doors at the factory about any tips, but Skoda doesn't seem to put much faith into their own cars in terms of warranty length, then again i wouldn't either if i was building VW cars with really dodgy and cheap flimsy door panels.

Drivers door rattle / vibration noise
Yeah I've had that for a while, it's pretty annoying, like something is loose inside the door panel, I've also had for a while a rattle on the passenger's door and it seems to be the chrome trim, it's like a squeaky rattle, and on top of those I now have had a new noise on the back as well and it seems its coming from the rear seats, probably the lock mechanism on them knocking against the hook. I'll have to eventually take it to the skoda dealer to take care of these, i didn't think a car with less than 10k KM on the clock would be so noisy already.

Squeaky windows
Well, my windows started squeaking, front right is squeaking quite a bit and the left one is also trying to follow the other one's example and it's already making a weird noise in the rubbers, does anyone have a tip for fixing this?

LED Matrix headlights.
I work shifts and honestly i love the matrix headlights, i've been flashed only once since i got the car and honestly i think they work pretty well, it's cool as hell to turn them on and see the effect of the light opening to the sides in the distance like a courtain, and it's pretty clever as well, you can see the individual leds turning off on the cars in front, i showed it to some co-workers when i gave them a ride home and they were mind blown like it was some space age sci-fi bull**** 😂 The thing about the matrix headlights though is that they work in a very subtle way even when the high beams aren't turned on, when i'm driving behind a car i can still see reflected in its back the individual leds turning on and off as the car in front moves away or gets closer, it's also noticeable in roundabouts as it seems the headlights try to point where the car is turning, the auto fog light while turning is pretty neat too as it lights up the road shoulders as you turn. It's just crazy how when i was looking for a new car i went to Seat and the Leon only had the matrix headlights as a 1000€ optional even in the FR and xcellence trims, while it comes standard with the Style edition on Skoda don't know if it's still the case or not for the Seat.

Constant creaking and rattling from Boot
I got a rattle on the drivers door as well and it stops when i press on the leather part even slightly, in my case it isn't the umbrella because SKODA in all its wisdom shipped Octavias to Portugal with a freakin' snow brush instead so i just drive around with the compartment empty.

What tyres did you get?
Pirelli Cinturato P7 225/45 R18 And all i can say about them is THEY ARE LOUD AS F*, even the slightest bit of a rougher road i get gigantic amounts of rolling noise.

Engine cover 1.0TSI
No idea about that tbh.

3rd Software Update done! Fixed
Do these updates have to be done in the dealer? I thought all updates would be OTA

Engine cover 1.0TSI
As someone who works at a VW plant, i can confirm the 1.0 engines have no cover.

Why are people still ordering Octavia IVs?
Many people go to forums AFTER they discover issues in order to ask for advice or help, let's face it, these days most cars have issues, it's nothing out of the ordinary, i've had a few cars the last few years and all of them had their own factory issues, this one so far despite some issues is still the best i've had and honestly i don't seem to suffer from most of the tech issues people are having.

3rd Software Update done! Fixed
When i was driving yesterday it randomly showed me a "service menu" screen out of nowhere, it had the option to update the software and everything, if i pressed it it actually told me it would update but i didn't want to mess anything up so i kinda ignored it, the problem is that until i turned off the car my home/menu/volume controls became unresponsive. When i turned the car back on everything was normal.

Skoda Connect Missing
Skoda connect on the mk4 doesn't have a menu button that i'm aware of, it "jest werks" on the car side, or in this case it doesn't as others said there appears to be a problem atm.

Full Matrix Headlights
I've used mine quite a few times now and they work perfectly fine, i heard there was an update that fixed an issue with them, maybe my car already came with the fix i dunno.

Cherished number: dealership using number plate for 'free' advertising
Yeah here in Portugal they love to do that stuff, they add a small plastic stripe underneath the plate, i actually told them to remove it as soon as i saw the car for the first time in the dealer, they removed it no fuss or anything, i don't do publicity for free and it's not like there are many skoda dealers in the area where i live anyway so anyone who wants a skoda will most likely go there anyway, lol.

Both front door panel trim rattle
Hey there, Does anyone else have rattles coming out of both front doors on the places shown below? Today i went for a drive and the noise just became more persistent than before, even rattles with the engine on low revs now, i think i gotta go to the dealer to get this fixed but i was wondering if it is a common problem.

Wireless Android Auto
Amazing, such a simple thing completely fixed the issue, well done my friend!

Constant creaking and rattling from Boot
I've added some lubricant paste to the lock mechanism (the hook on the bottom where the lock latches onto) and to those side springy things and it fixed the thumping noise that was annoying me, added some to the seat latches on the back as well for good measure.

Latest Store update has Navigation
Over here it is an optional. Trim levels and their extras differ from country to country. I was also told that and that's why i chose not to add it to the car at the time, i was already used to Android Auto on my previous Opel Astra. The biggest difference from what i can understand is that with the car navigation you can see the map in the virtual cockpit, and with Android Auto you can't.

Latest Store update has Navigation
My Octavia just updated today and it added Navigation for purchase, 390€ (ouch) I was thinking of adding it if the price wasn't too high because it's nice to have the map on the virtual cockpit but the price is a bit too steep right now considering i'm already used to android auto. But good to see they're updating the system.

Skoda Octavia IV pictures thread
Thought it was for the mkIV (mk4) tbh that's why i also posted my 2.0 TDI :P

Wireless Android Auto
I've worked around that by adding android auto to my second window (when you swipe the main screen) it fits perfectly with x3 1x1 buttons beside it. Here's what i mean:

Skoda Octavia IV pictures thread
I guess i'll use my first post in this thread This is my Octavia, it's my first ever brand new car and i'm mostly happy with it, the cool part is that it's the only car i've seen and because of that it catches people's attention on the street, almost everyone buys the SW version of cars in Portugal and it makes the car version more unique and stand out more in the case of the new Octavia, they really nailed the design (both inside and outside) and i absolutely love it. My only issue with the car so far honestly is the rattles the car developed in the front door panels (seems to be the chrome trim's fault) and a thumping noise coming from the boot which is more noticeable on smooth roads, i think it's the gate itself, i've adjusted the rubber stops to the max and seems to have helped but it still happens. Will take the car to the dealer as soon as i can since i work shifts and it's hard to schedule it. A bit disappointed that a car with only 2000km already has interior rattles but i'm guessing it's "new car" stuff that can be fixed.
