Stereo Surround replacement
Guys I've changed my stereo to a standard double din one I've got the plate which makes it a VW shape! What I need help with is Skoda! They cannot find the correct surround part number so I can order the one with the smaller aperture (not the Bollero size) - I beleive it is sat nav size? Does any one have one fitted standard? if so, any chance of giving skoda a reg and asking for the part number? or if you happen to have the correct part number... Skoda seemingly can only look this up against my reg.. which has the incorrect size as standard Grateful for any help Andy

Octavia EPC and rattling noise!
So.. Bit of an update Just got my car back today Been with the garage 6 weeks! (not their fault) Went in for new chain kit Oil pump found to be faulty - Replaced Then, no oil feed to top of engine Stripped top down, and found the one way valve pictured solid, so was blocking oil to the top end Luckily no damage to top end, I went and had a look at it when it came back from the engine services shop, all cams and head spot on £20 part from VW solved the issue The comment from the garage - It was on the shelf, which surprised them.. meaning its a regular part! The garage suggested poor oil was to blame But it had been regularly serviced £1950 later and I'm back up and running - I added a new clutch kit while the gear box was off Hopefully be keeping this for a while now to pay for itself! Was merrily driving along when the EPC light came on momentarily then a rattle consistent with engine speed could be heard! the rattle seems to be coming from the top of the timing chain area any ideas please 2011 petrol vrs 80k

Noise when setting off!
Guys Thanks for the replies It did feel abrasion related, but ironically, since I've had my wheels refurbed... its stopped! Cant fatham it, it could be a total coincidence I'll keep the above in mind for if it comes back! I'll update this for other use if I pin point and solve

Noise when setting off!
no difference flat or hill generally a cold issue, once it’s warm, it’s less or not present! feels like a dry joint, or abrasion issue

Noise when setting off!
I've done a search but cannot find anything When setting off, usually from cold I'm getting a strange 'rubbing' noise I thought it was from brakes as I can feel a little vibration through the steering when it happens, but I've changed these and its still there I've linked a video of me driving over my phone to try and capture it VIDEO LINK The noise you can hear which sounds like the horn, is the noise.. not the horn! Deffo coming from the front of the car, poss clutch? All advice welcome Thanks Andy

Oil Usage 2.0TSI 2011 VRS
Thanks for the reply I did search to no real avail and checked out the engine failiure thread, but didnt realise it ran to 75 pages!! The car has had good, regular services its only covered 72k Ther are no leaks, its been on the ramp with the under tray removed I'll be having another good look at the other suggested items in your reply, plus checking the plugs If it was turbo, I'd have thought there would be smoke, but its clear and emissions are good The car drives lovely, performance is good, there is no rattle from the chain adjuster, and there doesnt seem to be a lack of compression, or any kind of misfire which woud indicate piston rings Can you please elabourate? Thanks

Diamond Cut - Standard VRS alloys?
Has anyone done this? I'm looking at a refurb, and really like the diamond cut look, but was wondering if someone has done this, so I can have a proper view! TIA

Oil Usage 2.0TSI 2011 VRS
Hi Guys i've searched to no avail My vrs is using oil I had a chage done after I got the car, 3 weeks later the oil light is on level is at bottom of dipstick 1/2L in 3 weeks is in my view excesive No leaks, no smoke (I know its got to go somewhere!) I've had Audi's in the past where oil 'usage' seems to be normal! Is this something I need to live with, or is it unusual? Thanks
