Octavia Vrs 2023 - Moisture/condensation in Matrix headlights
You need to see actual full droplets for them to do anything. My front right headlight was recently replaced, I had water in it and even visible dust. Later on it fully cracked while I was waiting for the part to arrive at the dealer. cracked, no damage whatsoever to the car, but looks like it cracked exactly on the line where all the water sits when hood is closed. replaced, hopefully it doesn't happen again... here is an earlier post in the forum with similar discussion

More vRS tyre musings!
I put on Goodyear Assymetric 5 on my aftermarket wheels for summer and the grip is excellent. I think you're just expecting too much, fwd with that much power is just the limiting factor. Most top tyre brands will perform within margin of error.

vRS Engine Cover Recall
why would you, just wait till they get them in stock and you will get a free one.

Android Auto new full screen
Does AA run smooth on your cars/phones? I don't have the most powerful phone, LG Velvet 5G, but man sometimes it lags like crazy, especially with Waze when trying to type in an address.

Delivery times?
Sell what, their production numbers have been declining for 4 years in a row now.

Delivery times?
Actually it got worse in 2022 as far as I know. I don't know if you can believe this page, but it seems about accurate to me. https://carsalesbase.com/europe-koda-octavia/

Delivery times?
It was completely normal a few months ago, the situation seemed to get better for a bit at the end of the year, but I feel like Skoda just rushed out builds they had parts for and everyone else got delayed even further.

Canton 'forgets' EQ settings.
I can add on to that, for me personally buying a new car allowed me to buy a much more expensive car than I could afford used, because the payments are spread out, insurance on new cars is also a lot less expensive (for some reason, maybe as an incentive).

Nothing stops you from not using the dealership if you can afford a new car without a lease/loan. Benefit is that the car rarely if ever actually breaks down to the point where it leaves you stranded, it also feels pretty nice, like a lot nicer than old 100k miles beat down car.

vRS Engine Cover Recall
It helps efficiency in winter and pedestrian crash tests. But the overall impact is pretty low.

vRS Engine Cover Recall
There is nothing to protect there. You should just remove it yourself and keep it until they give you a new one. If this ****ty one sets your car on fire your insurance might deny the claim, since Skoda has informed you about a recall.

Reversing lights
It's a completely different lamp so there is nothing you can code in.

Skoda Octavia buying guidance
There are 5 engines. 1.0 TSI 3-cyl petrol 1.5 TSI 4-cyl petrol 2.0 TSI 4-cyl petrol 1.4TSI 4-cyl petrol/hybrid eletric 2.0 TDI diesel VRS has the most powerful engines and the most equipment included without having to select any options. I think for a family 1.5 TSI engine makes the most sense, it's powerful and fuel efficient and cheap, though I wouldn't get the manual.

Anyone actually happy with their MK4? 😂
Dipped beam doesn't do any matrix thing, it's just static. If you turn on high beams only then it becomes adjustable.

Well, my car has no traffic sign recognition or pACC or maps. Pretty sure you need to buy the full maps in the store to unlock it. Idk about the lights, never had the chance to use them on a local Lithuanian multi-lane road.

And you even have the satnav option... Using normal high-beams is not allowed, so why should matrix high-beams would be? Unless the road is completely empty and there is no one in front of you, then you can turn on high-beams and obviously matrix lights. Normal non high-beam Matrix lights are fine obviously... But they don't control the beam anyway.

You should not be using matrix headlights on multi-lane roads, just like you wouldn't be using full beam.

Octavia vrs hatchback 2022
That's actually a real thing. The plastic film absorbs the impacts and scratches and instead of tearing just compresses, after that it comes back to the original shape when it warms up (or you warm it up with something). Of course anything sharp enough to slice through plastic like butter will leave permanent damage.

Unlocking with dead key battery
Like this: and to start the car you need to put the key into the front cup holder and press the start button
-
TPMS Direct or Indirect
As far as I know Octavia doesn't have direct TPMS even as an option.

Reversing lights
SE L only has basic rear lights so single reverse light. Basic Upgraded

Tailgate / boot opening by itself
Probably needs to have the foot sensor calibrated. I personally turned off mine, because it's easier to press the button on the back or keyfob anyway. Also no risk of it opening in a car wash.

Crazy white noise that won't go off!
Yeah, software updates aren't coming in as often as they promised they would. That being said I have owned things that didn't work nearly as well as this car and never got fixed, so it's still ok.

Remap / chiptuning available for the 2.0tsi VRS!
420nm is the claimed limit, but DQ381 isn't brand new and people have pushed it past that without issues. But yeah, stock it's pretty fast already, I won't be touching mine while it's still in warranty.

Delivery times?
Well it doesn't really matter to me, but if I were you I would be REALLY suspicious of that week 7 claim. There are people who are waiting for a year already and still no car.
