  1. Is your coolant level going down? If it's not then it's condensation.
  2. The clips are just very stiff. It's a VW thing.
  3. Well this particular problem requires them to manufacture a new cover for every single car that has already been made and the new ones they are making right now. I don't know if you noticed this, but manufacturing has been struggling really hard in the past few years. And it's not just cars, I work in the automation field and parts for manufacturing are extremely pinched too. Even simple things like motors take months to arrive. PLC's and other modules are simply not available or you have to wait for a year.
  4. Having Waze on is pretty useful though, you can see traffic jams, people mark police/accidents.
  5. In terms of charging I noticed a huge difference between apps that I use on Android auto. Google maps + Spotify definitely drained my battery on the pad and the phone heated up more. I just did a test today and in a 13 minute trip wireless charger managed to get it from 69 to 74% while using Waze+Spotify and the phone was not hot either. And the auto start option was probably forgotten by Skoda.
  6. Yeah there isn't much difference especially since most loads stay below where the cover is.
  7. Yes, the maps appear on center screen. Wireless charging is pretty pointless in my opinion. I got it but it pretty much only keeps the phone charged and doesn't give any extra charge (maybe my phone is too slow at wireless charging or it's the pad), also the phone heats up. And on short trips I don't ever take the phone out of my pocket.
  8. Yes, Android Auto wireless works seamlessly doesn't matter if you plug it in to charge or if you put it on the wireless charging pad. No, you can't have it on the dash unfortunately, but the screen is at eye level so... I have Waze always on, it's actually really nice how it works, automatically connects and opens Waze every single time, don't need to even touch the screen, except if I wanted to put a destination in obviously.
  9. Why aren't you using android auto?
  10. I'm using 95 in Lithuania, because 98 is hard to find and usually more expensive and I don't care enough about potential performance. Fuel economy gains are definitely lost in the price difference.
  11. Yeah, the control unit is a separate part so it gets replaced. But my point was that refurbishing them in the dealers workshop isn't viable to they swap it instead. Also it's not only the DQ200 that has issues, people with vRS models also get DSG failures.
  12. DSG gearboxes (like all automatics these days) are just very complex. They just replace them for even minor failures, because taking it off and properly refurbishing is not a job dealers can do. It's easier to swap your gearbox for a new one and send the broken one to a third party who specializes in refurbishing them. You have to realize that they make millions of these gearboxes, some faults are just going to happen.
  13. Just checked my mailbox and apparently they did send me a letter about it a coupe days ago, but forum news were faster than the letter.
  14. I'm on Android, but I also don't see a download button anywhere. It's there on the website though. https://www.skoda-connect.com/ They keep finding ways to remove functions they already had.
  15. Good news everyone, neon shortages are starting to hit chip manufacturing, the story never ends it seems. 🙃
  16. I kinda liked the fluffy engine cover. Oh well, it's not hard to take it off until they receive replacement parts. My dealer told me they will receive them in June so with the current estimates that probably means October. 😂
  17. Factories in Ukraine are still working. Person from VW said 9 out of 11 factories are still making the wiring for their cars.
  18. Obd11 has apps that do coding for you, almost every available adaptation has an app and it's easy and reliable. https://obdeleven.com/en/supported-vehicles
  19. Because they want you to buy 18 or 19 so the car looks better on the road. 🙂
  20. Of course they will fit. It's a completely standard Octavia wheel. Also R18 looks a million times better than R16, unless you're extremely sensitive to road surface. And 225/45 counts as a low profile tyre, but really it's pretty fat as low profile goes.
  21. Yep, in perfect conditions they rust pretty much instantly.
  22. They will always be rusty after sitting for a while.
  23. I thought it would be a fluke in the settings, the chances that they changed the hardware somehow were too slim.
  24. I mean you lose fuel economy vs a normal Octavia. Scout has raised suspension, or does it not?
  25. But why would you want a Scout with open diff fwd? To me it doesn't look any better, you lose fuel economy and gain nothing in return.
