Anyone else ordered a new Kodiaq?
Definite signs of improvement on the Kralove airport webcam, which hopefully it's indicative of a wider improvement.

I've just checked the photo you supplied previously Yogi, and they definitely look one piece to me.

Anyone else ordered a new Kodiaq?
I wasn't sure if there are actually 52 build weeks in a year, or due to planned shutdowns there may be less? ...and therefore calendar week not necessarily the same as build week as we progress through the year? ...or on the other hand do shutdown weeks have build week numbers but no vehicles are built?

For the uninitiated how does one go about working out the calendar date from the build week number?

If be letting them have another swing at the paint protection film if I were you. 😁

Excellent! Please share.

Glovebox carpet
That's just cheap though. How much have they shaved off the cost of building the car? £1 on a £40K+ motor? Do Tiguans currently come with Axminster in the glove box I wonder.

It's almost as if they're building whatever they feel like based on components available and then trying to match the result to a customer order.

I stand corrected.

Tailgate Leak
Agreed. How frustrating. I just know from other vehicles that water often runs along things as well as just straight down under gravity, which makes spotting the point of ingess difficult some times.

Tailgate Leak
Indeed. I know we've kicked several ideas around. Are you confident is entering through the tailgate Vs getting past the seal somewhere and running along/down it to the lowest point (on the inside)?

Aren't the 'normal' centre caps just a friction fit into the hole? I.e. doesn't make any difference how deep the whole actually is.

I really really hope that 'misbuild' isn't a result of the current chaos. I can't bear the thought of having to wait nearly a year to be presented with a lemon caused by Skoda not being able to build normally. Here's hoping...

What is the diameter of the centre holes please?

Tailgate Leak
You've probably already looked at this too, but could block drainage channels in the 'aero fins' be a factor? If water is pooling in those I guess it could go nearly anywhere when the tailgate opens. https://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/449712-bootdoor-drainage-on-kodiaq/

I also note the following is for a Karoq but might have some relevance? https://www.karoqforums.co.uk/viewtopic.php?t=561

Tailgate Leak
With my Peugeot experience by looking at the car it wasn't obvious that there was a seal missing. It was only by dismantling mine and dismantling one that didn't leak that the problem became obvious. ...and also with the way the water can run out of sight, where the problem was really wasn't intuitively obvious based on where the water pooled. But you're obviously alive to that possibility. I my case however the was actually a problem and I got it fixed. Hope yours is the same.

Tailgate Leak
I once had a Peugeot that used to regularly leak big style into the boot. It took two years to track down, but eventually turned out to be a previous accident repair where they'd failed to reinstall seals on some of the lamp clusters. Any chance of something similar?

"Error". That says it all.

There are still a chunk of cars bunkered at HRADEC KRALOVE AIRPORT according to the webcam, though no idea how representative that is of Skoda as a whole? The two week shutdown doesn't appear to have had much overall impact there. Good news though, which is somewaht hard to come by these days.

Yes, that's probably the way to go I think. The wheels are more fussy than my personal taste, but that's certainly isn't limited to the VRS wheels and are a lot less marmite than the aero covers. Nice one.

Thinking of buying either a VRS Kodiaq or the L&K
Thanks for the pointers both. I'd not considered Slime for car tyres.

I take it that this is like the bicycle version where you insert it into the tyre before you get a puncture, sort of like a liquid version of seal inside tyres? I recall you had to be able to screw the core out of the valve in order to insert the liquid? Perhaps that was just on cycle valves though. If certainly be interested in anyone's experiences.

Will you give us a wider shot please Yogi so we can see the entire side of the car with the trims off? Thx.

Completely agreed.
