  1. That's where I'm at, and will most likely depend on how long the Conti tyres last. This might end up being a long time the way things are looking...
  2. I'm on 20" rims and I'm thinking of going down to 19" or even 18" for a better choice of tyres. ...and a more compliant ride of course, though that's a secondary consideration.
  3. Absolutely agreed, though I do find that somewhat amazing now that cars are basically computers on wheels. Where is the variability coming from I wonder?
  4. Thank you for sharing. I've also read on VWVortex forums that VW seats (which are almost certainly the same) wont store the last 50mm of travel. What I do find confusing is that if if try to store in one of these 'disallowed' configurations you still get the chime indicating that it's been stored OK. Anywho, at least I know now.
  5. How many miles do you have on it now Yogi?
  6. Agreed. Best lights I've ever had on a car. Might not technically be the best available in the market however if I'd had to pay extra for them as an option I'd have been happy (within £££ reason).
  7. Ok, so making allowance for RTFM and my fat fingers I can confirm that my drivers seat works as described above (i.e. with regard to single press recall working only with ignition off and drivers door open). That explains that bit about the seat schooching forwards a bit every time I press the recall button 1 whilst the ignition is on. What still isn't correct is that I set the seat possition fully back in memory 1 and when I then recall memory 1 (via either the hold or single press methods depending on ignition/drivers door) the seat shuffles forward about half an inch. It's like something isn't quite calibrated correctly. None of the other adjustments change in any perceptible way, It's just the seat for and aft position. Once it's moved to the incorrect stored position it then doesn't move (again) if memory 1 is recalled again. Is this just my car? Please insert jokes about half an inch making no difference here... 😜
  8. I'll need to try it again with the drivers door open, however it's behaving as if the stored position isn't correct? Does having the door open effect storing too?
  9. Don't think I have that. Certainly don't have the third key. I do get to choose a driver when I turn on the ignition (but it's always set to me anyway). Even with memory asignment to a key, I presume it isn't correct that the seat behave in this fashion?
  10. Glad to hear it and thank you for coming back with an update. 👍
  11. I've been struggling to get a long-term confortable seating position in my new car and I've just realised the drivers seat seems to be adjusting itself which is throwing out my efforts to get it dailed in. Anyone esle seeing this? Set seat to desired position Hold set for 3 seconds Press 1 button Bong! Press 1 button Seat shuffles forward half an inch Press 1 button again Seat shuffles forward half an inch Press 1 button a third time... and nothing Can't be right.
  12. I appreciate it's not the same system as the maxidot display between the gauges, however the default setting for Virtual Cockpit seems to be automatic (whatever that means). Skoda knows best presumably?
  13. Good point. I'm shocked at how well the camera washer works and the camera would be pretty useless without it (certainly on the muddy roads around where I live).
  14. I can't help but to feel despair that peeps are facing waits like this and at the same time Skoda are announcing the opening of order books on new models with first deliveries indicated as July (or was that June; even worse). It's clearly indefensible.
  15. I'm sure you're right, however it seems strange to me that I could drive down a motorway in Germany at 120 mph with the headlights being hit by all sorts of insects and stuff, but can't dry them with a soft cloth. Similar there doesn't seem to be any mention of not washing then. Odd.
  16. It's just come to my attention that the owners manual states in relation to washing the vehicle that the headlights shouldn't be dried. Any ideas why not? Seems a bit random, but pressumably there's a specific reason.
  17. I suggest you're looking at it the wrong way around. If you need/want a veicle of the size/capacity/practicality of the Kodiaq and value a bit of pep in the driving experience over lower running cost, you end up at the VRS. You may regard this as mad, however (thankfully) everyone is different and one size doesn't have to fit all. IMHO.
  18. I certainly don't want to drive a milk float, however in reality how much performance can you enjoy whilst keeping a clean licence? YMMV obviously.
  19. Yes it says both, definitely including 0w20 as well as the VW type numbers.
  20. Interesting. Seems odd that a dealer would do this when Skoda have clearly indicated otherwise on the engine bay plate. Wonder why? Engine longevity or just to reduce oil consumption?
  21. I didn't get the direct system either Yogi (my build being apparently November 21).
  22. I was once badly bitten by my wife's Nissan. Eventually got around to checking the oil and the dipstick was bone dry. "Haven't you noticed any warning lights?" Says I. "Oh, it's been saying something for quite a while when I start it but it was too small to read. I just ignored it.". Quite. A bit sensitive now.
  23. Plate under the bonnet of the VRS calls for 0w20.
  24. Yogi, given your bear must be completely run in by now; how much (if any) oil did it use in the first 1,000 running in miles please?
