  1. Thats good to hear. I was moaning to the AutoGlass fitter about how easily my screen seems to have broken and his response is just "they're all like that now, don't make 'em as good as they used to. It's about weight saving...".
  2. Interesting, I might have a look at this. Is there any moire information you could share please? Have ODB11 rather than VCDS but I'm sure that's not a showstopper.
  3. As a long term user of the Ford system I concur that it clears well and quickly and for me the wires were never a problem. The downside is how long the elements last IMHO. I tend to keep my cars for longer than 3 years, and I don't think I've ever had a ford screen that wasn't at least starting to see failure of the wire elements at the 3 year mark. i.e. just at the end of warranty. I wonder how the VAG system will last?
  4. Ok, thanks for the input. Managed a proper test this morning (i.e. without needing to rush off). -4 with a good covering of frost to defrosted in a little over 5 minutes with just the heated screen and all other ventilation off. In the ballpark then. I did notice thawing started at the top corners and worked toward the bottom centre, leaving the mottled areas near the rearview still iced.
  5. Sorry, windscreens again... If anyone else has a heated screen, would you please share how long it takes to melt a frosting please? I never needed to use it before my windscreen got broken, and now it's finally frosty it seems to be the blower and heat from the engine that's doing the job rather than the screen itself. Yes, it's turned on according to the light on the centre button. Thank you.
  6. E.g. Amazon, eBay, Halfords, Wiperblades.co.uk etc. etc.
  7. As you say a 330mm blade looks like it'd foul on the facelift spoiler so at least there's justification for making a change to a 280mm blade, and I suppose the change in connection prevents you fitting the wrong one. I'm surpirsed however that over 12 months after the facelift launched that all the parts sites are all still recommending the wrong one.
  8. On second attempt AutoGlass have sourced and fitted the correct screen so all seems good and matrix headlight re-calibration seems spot on.
  9. Ah, thanks for clarifying. That explains why it won't fit. No sign of anything other than OEM then, which is a bit of a disappointment. I wonder why there was need to change with the facelift?
  10. I know what you mean, but I find the squrawking really annoying when I flick it into reverse parking at home.
  11. Does anyone happen to know which Bosch Aerotwin rear wiper is supposed to fit the current petrol VRS please? Amazon seems to think it's the A331H however that one doesn't fit and according to ebay the A332H doesn't fit either. I hope they haven't forced OWM blades only as they appear to be rubbish (and expensive).
  12. As a public service announcement and cautionary note to others; went to get windscreen replaced by AutoGlass this morning on 2022 VRS with heated windscreen. The supplied glass was supposed to fit, but the camera mounts were different and the screen couldn't be used. They only discovered this after removing the old screen. No idea what version the supplied glass was actually supposed to fit and match up with, however be warned and get them to check properly before they start knocking your bear to bits. This seems obviously I know, however the difference wasn't readilly apparent.
  13. I'm a Skoda newby, however from general car experience:- The external trough just in from of the windscreen is designed to drain water away externally, however if the drains get blocked water can back up and start draining into the cabin. Leak from connection to the rear washer (maybe that was just a Ford thing...) Leak from the cabin heater element I've also seen a leak through a badly repaired door that ended up dribbling water into the footwell. Good luck.
  14. Never seen that, so as you say it looks broken.
  15. That's interesting. I find the seats are quite warm and heat up fairly quickly. Compared with the seats the steering heater does seem 'broken'.
  16. Steering heater is pretty weedy in my experience. On max I need to drive several miles before I can even tell it's on. Previous Ford would be toasty within 30 seconds just stood on the drive.
  17. It's just come to my attention that Michelin seem to have started doing the Cross Climate 2 in the 235/45 20" size.
  18. I recognize it's all expense, but when you're down a VRS anyway... get an ODB11 dongle and turned the sound actor down (or off) to your preference.
  19. I thought the DSG reset was about the control unit relearning the engagement points of the clutches, rather than anything to do with driving style? In D my car wants to be in top gear at unfeasibly slow speeds. 7th at 30mph? At least it's fairly predictable which makes junctions manageable.
  20. No idea, but sometimes I've found the motor trade uses the terms calibration and coding interchangeably. Presumably because they have no real idea what they're talking about. YMMV.
  21. If you can get coins stuck by accidentally putting them in the card slots that's right next to the coin slots, then that's terrible design and Simply Stupid (tm).
  22. I'll just stick to what I've always done then. I note that the Kodiaq seems to be less effective at washing and wiping it's screen than my previous cars. I'm RHD in the UK and the drivers side is OK-ish but the passenger side is frequently an appaling mess for some reason.
  23. So in your experience then nothing notably different in terms of performance in fan vs directional jets?
  24. I've been using el cheapo Halfrods screen wash concentrate for the last coupe of years though I've noted it doesn't seem to do a particularly spectacular job of degreasing and cleaning the windscreen on the Kodiaq. Whilst casting around for alternatives it's come to my attention that VAG don't recommend non-OEM addative due to possible damage to the washer pump and also a potential lack of effectiveness using el cheapo with the fan style washer jets. My first instinct is this is all bogus just to make a little more cash with expensive screenwash, however given my disatisfaction with the performance of el cheapo on the Kodiaq vs my previous Ford, I wonder if there might actually be something in it. Any thoughts?
  25. Thank you P-J, I really apprecaite the confimation. 👍
