  1. My wife has a new 2023 Karoq 1.5 TSI DSG from last summer and has yet to see the Eco symbol. She might be driving it like F1, but I'm more inclined to think the symbol isn't being shown. This is with the optional full 10" Virtual Cockpit rather than the smaller 8" standard version.
  2. Evening all. Background:- 2023 Karoq SEL fitted with Amundsen+ infotainment in conjunction with Google Pixel 7 phone. Phone paired and connects fine, including wireless Android Auto. Contacts import. No sign of disconnects (as far as I can tell). This is my wife's car and not my daily driver, so direct personal experience is limited. [I do however have a Kodiaq with Columbus and another Pixel 7, which seems fine in all regards.] Same phone worked perfectly when previous connected to wife's old Ford C-Max. Problem:- First call connected in the Karoq after powering on the ignition has unusably distorted sound through the Amundsen+. You can then immediately hang up and place the call again and it's fine on the second and subsequent calls. It sounds like maybe the volume clipping somewhere or perhaps some sort of codec problem. It's not just bad, it's completely unusable; you can maybe just make out 1 word in 4. Has anyone ever encounterd this before please? It would be helpful to know before I start swapping phones around to try and work out exactly where the problem is. Thank you.
  3. Does that mean the Haldex clutches are dragging all the time? If that's so, I'm not surprised wear and tear is a frequent issue!
  4. As my bear is my first 4x4, I'm not sure what normal should be like. If I give it the beans in slick conditions, drive seems to go to the rear OK based on lack of front wheel slip, however I can clearly hear something going on from the rear end. Sounds a bit like the typical 'grinding' tranction control noise. Certainly not whining however only from the rear, not the front (as far as I can tell). From other's experience, is this normal please?
  5. I've had yet another look at it and I can't see any of the padding that looks out of place. It looks pretty much identical to the one right next to it that's never budged.
  6. Thank you Eee. I'm sure someone will benefit greatly from your experience. Hopefull not me any time soon. ๐Ÿ˜
  7. Thanks Skomaz. I'll have a look at that. I can't really get my head around them. The little 'wings' that look like they should keep it in place seem to be angled the wrong way around to me, therefore difficult to get in and easy to pull out!?
  8. One of the 4 ISOFIX bottom covers on the second row of seats absolutely won't stay in place, and I can't figure out why. Keeps coming loose and then rattling against the metal bar. Does anyone know if there is there some special magic to fitting it? I've had it to stay put for a bit, but as soon as someone sits in the seat it's loose again.
  9. Good spot Kenny. Very difficult to see it being worse than the OEM one.
  10. I believe it's probably less about confusing the system and more about fog, rain, snow etc. scattering light and dazzling other road users. i.e. light going where it's not supposed to with the system in operation.
  11. Unless it's a particularly quiet motorway, I prefer to turn off the matrix function and generally just drive with dipped headlights.
  12. Power cycling the car gets rid of the EPC light and nothing seems to be getting stored. Neither ODB11 nor the dealer could see anything.
  13. To be fair, I don't think the average user would really make a distinction between the bus itself and they the way attached components use that bus. I'll happily accept however that most major car manufacturers don't make great software developers.
  14. Not fit for purpose, class action lawsuit eventually perhaps? Pee off a senior lawyer enough, or let the ambulance chasers get a sniff of a big payday. Careful what you wish for though.
  15. Indeed. We used to have a Ford C-Max with an intermittent failure to start problem that was eventually traced to a faulty rear hatch lock mechanism causing problems on the C-Bus.
  16. Nope, nothing like that for me. Oil temperature stable. That is to say, in line with what I'd expect given the ambient temperature, road conditions and how I'm driving.
  17. Last time it did it, about 12K miles. Run almost exclusively on Shell VPower E5. Using adaptive cruise, car would try to labour up a hill at about 40 mph in 7th gear behind another vehicle - hit left paddle to shift down and straight away EPC and limp. Many miles of separate cruise, agressive booting and manual shifting and nothing. It's only downshift in cruise when I thought the gear being held was way too high that's ever produced the fault.
  18. They didn't mention, but I'd checked with an ODB11 and there was nothing logged. ...which seems strange given it had put the EPC light on and gone into limp mode. And yes, confirmed, allegedly EPC can not be related to manual shifts nor adatptive cruise. ...even though I had it happen three times.
  19. Thanks for the feedback Porto. In my car the EPC error seems to be intermitently provokable by manually overriding DSG gear whilst using adaptive cruise. Certianly, that's the only time I've ever seen it. The dealer says it's not possible for it to be related however and it must have been a coincidence when it's happened. ๐Ÿคจ
  20. That's a more than fair assumption, however I note the mark 2 cars are also set to be heavier I understand? At least it shouldn't be any worse than the current VRS from a performance point of view, and I have high hopes for the improved DCC.
  21. Indeed - Hyundai Defender. ๐Ÿ˜‰
  22. I've been giving some idle thought to the look of the new model based on photos in the media. I've heard others say that they think it looks a little 'portly' compare with the mark 1. I think I can see that. In my option, the new model hasn't benefited from losing the sharp crease line above the door handles (and lining up with the lower edge of the bonnet). What do you think?
