  1. That's quite clever then, if the camera can see what's being illuminated by the headlights and throw an error if it looks 'off'. Given the vast array of what might be getting illuminated, how would it even know what 'off' looks like. Clever.
  2. I'd hope that if the revised version is now geting fitted at the factory then replacements at the dealers' can't be too far behind?
  3. I had a mate with a Tiguan that he hadn't had the Haldex serviced on, it then failed out of warranty and consequently he picked up a significant repair bill. Personally I'd err on the side of caution when it comes to service with both Haldex and DSG (without warranty cover at any rate).
  4. I had the message for the driver's side headlight that appeared to be down to dirt on the exterior due to a particularly salty and slushy trip. Cleaned the headlight, stopped and restarted the car and it hasn't re-occur over the last 6 weeks. My car doesn't have headlight washers. As far as I could tell the light was still on however the matrix smarts wouldn't work and I guess there's some part of the system that tries to make sure you'll not blind oncoming drivers if light isn't going where it's supposed to?
  5. Revisited today and what was orange when first discovered has now turned green, so clear not rust (which is a relief). Presumably wax wash out as suggested.
  6. Obviously no direct corelation however this makes you think:
  7. I note the TSI VRS is fitted with the DQ381 rather than beefier DQ500 gearbox. DQ381 is lighter but also has a lower spec'd torque limit of 'only' 420NM. I personally find that uncomfortably close to the 370NM put out by the stock TSI engine to consider much in the way of tuning. YMMV.
  8. I'll have a better look and take a snap. Rusty water seems to be leaking out of the outer box section past the rubber closure 'stops' on both sides. Your car is obviously clear then Toot?
  9. My bear had it first birthday just over a week ago. Was surprised to see rusty water stains in the engine bay that seem to be coming from inside the bonnet, through the wholes where the rubber stops screw into place. Is this just mine, or do all Kodiaqs rust here?
  10. I have a hook silmilar to a T10389 and can attest that the vent just pulls out by sticking the hook into the holes and pulling. I had to pull a lot harder than I was expecting though and the cloth wrap on the metal clips was torn up (though obviously don't know if that was coming out or from when it was built). Reseated the little plastic clips that hold the front of the vent to the main body, reinstalled and now the annoying buzzing that's been plaguing me for months seems to have gone (for now anyway). It's as if these things were designed to buzz what with all the little bits of hard plastic and very little damping.
  11. Apparently caused by a dirty headlamp aquired on an extremely (road) salty 50 mile run. Quick wipe with with a wet cloth and restarting the car cured it. Note, may car doesn't have the headlight washer system. I was amazed. Car even said which side was impared. Has anyone else seen this? Perhaps this is how Skoda get around not having a washer system fitted; get the driver to do it!
  12. Excellent, thank you for the clarification Phutters. 👍
  13. I've found a better picture and it looks like you have to pull the clips inwards by pressing back using the official tool inserted throuhg the holes in the sides of the vent, and I guess they click into a released state once you have them hooked properly one by one. Good luck doing that without something like the official tool! It would be very helpful if anyone who's actually performed this manouvre can confirm that the four clips are to be clicked out of engagement one by one, or instead you're supposed to perform some sort other sort of magic to get all four disengaged at the same time?
  14. I see. This would be very much easier to do if you could see the thing disassembled first. Just pulling isn't going to work without damaging something then. I thought perhaps the hook of the tool was to just pull the vent out forwards without having to tug on the louvres.
  15. Thanks for the head up Kenny. Good spot.
  16. Also, I can't find where the workshop guide makes any reference to the centre dash vents. Are they supposed to just pull out without any tooling or what?
  17. Did you get this fixed Bally? I'm trying to ascertain what you're supposed to do with the assembly tool exactly.
  18. Interesting. I'd suggest blocked drains in the scuttle area just in front of the windscreen or ingress via the door through a breach between the wet outside of the door and the dry inner facing. I'd have hoped the dealer would have found those though. What's the highlighted hole in the carpet about?
  19. Do you have a sunroof? If so check out this Tiguan video which may be of interest. I wouldn't vouch for what they guy's doing per se, but it's pretty easy to see where problems could arise and I imagine the Kodiaq isn't too different.
  20. What holds the gaiters into the holes in the bodywork out of interest? More thank just the rubber of the gaiter pressumably.
  21. I'd suspect this is an amplifier fault. Normally part of the internal cuircit mutes the output whilst things are power up and that doesn't sound to be happening. That's my experience from home audio anyway.
  22. Kodiaq rather than Karoq, however on current facelift model I'm convinced that the front camera plays a part. I often get braking for cars parked at the side of the road when they'refacing oncoming traffic and not for those parked in the direction of traffic. It seems unlikely the radar can tell the difference?
  23. If that's the roof just inside the tailgate, what condition are the rubber gaiters connecting to the tailgate in? Do you have sunroof?
  24. Sweet. Thank you very much linni. Every day's a school day.
