  1. I don't think that the spark plugs are culprit, have two sets of used ones, Bosch and NGK, in good condition with gap properly adjusted and same thing is happening.
  2. Hello everyone, Must say that on this forum I'm writing only when have some sort of a problem, but in addition to that must say that Briskoda is one of the best forums out there. 😊 So, if you guys could help me again or just give me honest opinion once more I would be much appreciated.. As title says, it's a 2007 Fabia 1.2htp, BZG is the engine code with some 100k miles on the clock. In past several months I'm noticing like the engine is missing but only at idle and it's like slight judder. Drives just fine and obd11 scaner is not showing any codes. I was wondering could it be that coil packs are on their way out? What's your thoughts and experiences?
  3. Yes, on every oil change used to check filter and there was no glitter. Tried on one of the bigger chunks and no it wasn't sharp, managed to fold a little one piece, it was soft material, much like Aluminium, but then again flakes are soo thin that it could be any metal.
  4. Well, I agree and disagree with you. If I wait to hear something or wait for oil light it's going to be too late to save engine components.
  5. It should be vw spec 502 00 and above, with gradation 10w40, 5w40, 5w30. If there's no excessive oil consumption choose one of well known brands.
  6. Hello, Yesterday decided to change engine oil and when inspecting old, used filter - spotted glitter trapped inside and also in the oil. Odometer reads about 100k miles, never skipped oil service. Always used quality parts. Engine runs just fine, no strange noises or warnings on the dashboard. No excessive oil consumption. Timing chain replaced, as preventative maintenance, on some 60k miles. The glitter is not magnetic, but then again it could be non-magnetic bearing cementation. This engine is known for all sorts of problems above crankshaft but rarely with bearings. Has anyone had similar experience? Any thoughts on this subject? P.S. Waiting for my mechanic to be available to do some initial tests like measuring oil pressure and compression.
  7. @fabia_simon Hi Simon, by the looks of it, I have the same problem on my 07 Fabia. One knock when reversing from parking space and not always. The car was inspected by several mechanics, each one changed parts but without success, the knock is still there. I'm wondering if you solved your problem and if yes what was the solution. By the way, today I've tried to investigate by myself and only thing I found is slight play on left side inner tie rod when pushing it in forward-backward motion ( let's say from firewall to gearbox). Since there's no play in left-right motion I'm wondering could this be some steering rack issue 🤔 Would be grateful for yours and anyone else help.
  8. Ok, thanks for your reply. I've came in possession of some Fuchs gear oil, but wasn't so sure that it's suitable for this gearbox. Their oilfinder suggests this oil for 02T. They have got 75w90 (factory recommendation) but it's API GL5 spec, which isn't suitable for coloured metals.
  9. Hello everyone I need help. Can 75W FE gearbox oil be used for 02T 5speed manual transmission?
  10. Ok, I understand need for making fun but I would much appreciate somebody's actual experience with a bac cv joints rather then assumption etcetera.
  11. I'm asking in general or to narrow it down what are some unusual symptoms, in VAG group, of bad joints. In my case it's fabia mk2 1.2htp..
  12. Hello, I'm having some issues with my front suspension/undercarriage, strange noises and vibration which neither me or technician can't pinpoint. I'm interested what are your experiences with a bad inner halfshaft joints or with some atypical symptoms of a bad CV joints such as sounds or vibration. Thanks in advance for all replies 🤗
  13. Update, I didn't touch anything but whole last week everything is back to normal. Is it permanent i don't know but for now engine is acting as it should..
  14. Idk, no fault codes for those ones. Apart from that funky behavior on cold start, the engine is working like Swiss clock, no misfires or increased consumption etc.
  15. Battery is few years old, didn't tested it but starter motor is cranking strong, so I think that battery is good. Pete, if I understand you correctly, I should get 12V on both of those wires you mentioned?
