I need help. Can 75W FE gearbox oil be used for 02T 5speed manual transmission?

It's not what's specified but it should be ok, FE or fuel efficient gear oil is a fairly recent innovation, it's a straight grade because a gearbox doesn't generally get hot enough to benefit from a multigrade.

 

If you're just topping up it'll definitely be ok, if you're changing it, save yourself the trouble and just top it up instead.

I've came in possession of some Fuchs gear oil, but wasn't so sure that it's suitable for this gearbox. Their oilfinder suggests this oil for 02T. They have got 75w90 (factory recommendation) but it's API GL5 spec, which isn't suitable for coloured metals.

Please note - I am not a mechanic or expert in anything.

That is often not correct with many modern GL5, check the Fuchs datasheet it will say if it is safe with yellow metals, or contact them.

It's fine for topping up.
