  1. Thanks - please do keep us posted on here! I really need to get mine booked in as well.
  2. Thanks @Pettsson for the update. So was this a problem they were aware of?
  3. I wouldn't really know where to start, but I'd be very interested in trying. If anyone vaguely local to Chichester has such a setup and wouldn't mind running it over my vehicle I'd be keen to give it a go.
  4. Sorry Dave, crossed wires (mine)! I meant to flag @Lee_P and @AdamK321, especially as they both sound as if they might also be in the UK. Would love to get this fixed.
  5. @Pettson and @PetrolDave just wondering if you managed to get this sorted yet? I have had a call with my dealer, who was absolutely clueless, and am going to arrange a return to dealer for a look as soon as I get some time. Was hoping others had got it fixed and might be able to help me tell the dealer what needs to be done? (assuming they are as clueless when I get there as they have been on the phone..).
  6. I'm glad I just found this thread - I have been posting about the same issue in another thread, but it looks like I have exactly the same problem: no Wi-fi menu in the settings at all, and no AA wireless. I hope the solution is the same - a simple update/settings change - and not that they simply didn't put wifi in the head units due to chip shortage.. Has anyone else managed to get this resolved yet?
  7. Thanks Beasty. So a bit bizarre, but how do I know that I definitely should have wifi capabilities? All the manuals seem to mention it (Bolero/Swing/Columbus) so I assume I should, but I fear the dealer will fob me off with something or other. I will give it a go anyway. Very keen to hear from anyone else who has this issue, especially if you managed to get it resolved. OK, looks like wifi being disabled is a common issue on very recent cars - no idea why, and I hope I can get it sorted. More info in this thread:
  8. Thanks - I appreciate the effort. How did you get the screen in your image? I have never seen that screen, or any mention of "wi-fi" across the entire system. If I click the smartlink menu I get options of AA/Apple/Mirrorlink, but if I press any of them it just tells me to connect a device via USB. There do not appear to be any other options on the page.. I'm beginning to wonder if my head unit even has wifi, but how could it not? This is a new SE, 3 weeks old, and all the HW and SW revisions and part numbers appear to match or exceed other systems shown on this thread.. Edit: Does anyone actually have this option in their front ends? I don't have the item "Wi-fi" underneath settings, as far as I can tell? Turn on the Infotainment’s WLAN hotspot in the menu item / Wi-Fi /Infotainment system as hotspot / Use as hotspot.
  9. Thanks Beasty. Yes, I admit I was reading the manual online (which seems totally different to reality), so went and tried following the manual in the car earlier. I have the same info as your screen grab, but I don't know what "select the Bluetooth hands-free profile" even means. I select my device, I see it in the list with hands free and media profiles in green, but if I touch the phone symbol (I believe this is the "hands free profile") it just disconnects that profile and it goes grey. How do you "select" it? It does seem that the earlier manual is out of date wrt to wifi, since that option (or WLAN) are not present anywhere in my settings menu system.
  10. Well - as far as I can, yes, but I seem to be missing the Wifi option in my settings menu. The manual seems to suggest that I need to connect to the infotainment wifi hotspot, and to do this via Menu/Settings/Wi-fi. Problem: I don't have the Wi-fi option under settings, so I am stumped. Worth noting perhaps that I have the base SE, not an SE-L, but my hardware/software versions all look similar. I do have an option for data plans, which returns an error message when I click it, and to turn on the use the car data plan which does nothing (perhaps because I don't have a data plan). No option to turn on wifi, check the wifi password (another option the manual suggests should exist) etc. I see a wifi network called "Phantom" on my phone, which requires a password that I don't have. Could this be it? (could also be a neighbour somewhere!). Stumped..
  11. Sorry to dredge this one up, but for the life of me I cannot get Android Auto wireless working. It simply won't connect at the head unit, constantly telling me to plug in the USB. Weirdly, my phone (Pixel 4, Android 12) thinks it is connected, showing the Skoda in AA, and going into AA mode. I have a very dodgy USB port on the phone, so whilst I can hold the USB in by hand and get a connection (which works fine for AA), the moment I let go it disconnects. Obviously no use for driving. Any clues? I've read every thread I can find on the topic here, and there is some mention of Wifi settings on the head unit but I cannot find any settings of that sort on mine. Worth mentioning perhaps that this is "Bolero" (no nav), although tbh I am not convinced there is any difference now between head units, since they are the same size - 10" - and my unit actually offers me the change to upgrade to navigation (at cost, obviously). So frustrating, and obviously I need a new phone and problem goes away, but it would be great to get it working on this one. Here is the system info - the same or later for all components compared to some screen shots I have seen in this thread from people who have wireless working:
  12. It's here! Delivered this morning, Estate 1.5 TSI SE in brilliant silver. First impressions are positive - it looks great, and I love the tone of silver. Struggling with Android Auto already but I'll post about that on another thread. Ordered 01/10/21 so 4 months and a few days, which is less than the 6 months I was originally quoted. Best of luck to everyone still waiting.
  13. Honestly, this was a big deciding point when I opted for the more basic SE over the SEL. I've rarely seen a decent satnav built into a car, and would imagine (if I can get it working) that I would always use Google Maps, so the upgrade over Bolero seemed pretty pointless to me now that the Bolero comes with the same size screen. I think literally the only thing that I would have preferred in the SEL are the virtual cockpit and the seat material, but not even sure about that with kids and dog!
  14. Do you know how much power the USB in the front can supply? Wondering how fast the wireless charging will be.. Please post up here when you have more available!
  15. When I get it I will drop you a PM - car is being delivered to us on Saturday. I do remember the option cost was (I thought) ridiculously high at around £200, especially given there is a USB port right there and you can buy decent off the shelf wireless chargers for £20 or so, so not sure how much I would be willing to spend on it.
