I only use the can in hybrid mode at the moment, I haven't been charging it myself, so stored electric doesn't tend to go above 3 miles worth. Why do you mention it not having any effect below 3⁰C? The week I was focusing on was above that btw. Why would AC not affect mpg? It has to as it uses energy.

I'm not sure why that would affect fuel consumption so drastically, why even mention it? The car is 2 months old. You seem very resistant to the idea that AC affects fuel consumption.

The last week wasn't as cold here as previous weeks. I don't think I had the Aircon symbol lit up in previous weeks. The regen charge is pretty consistent and I understand how it works.

This last week I noticed my mpg was quite a bit lower than usual. Yesterday I checked the AC and decided to turn it off. mpg much better these last two days.

I don't think changing wheels and tyres are going to improve the innate handling characteristics.

I got the message again today about the infotainment update. While I was driving in a poor signal strength area of the Scottish borders. Needless to say it disappeared without a trace when I parked up for a few minutes at a job...

Can you describe in what ways you find the audio in the Octavia 4 to be poor? I'm not 100% happy with it either - I feel there's a peak in the upper midrange/lower treble which I find irritating. I've actually just a few days ago ordered a measurement microphone to try to measure the frequency response from 20Hz to 20kHz to see if it can help identify where the peak is and I can then use an equaliser app to fix it.

I really hate how the update always appears when I'm driving. Why can't a message be sent to the Connect app so that when you stop you can tell it to update?

Most car manufacturers specify synthetic oils these days it just goes without saying. Synthetics are designed to have good cold properties. Unless you're doing *really* short journeys constantly I can't see there being a problem.

I've just checked my driving data on the app and it's saying long-term 47mpg over 233 miles. I did 320 miles yesterday so how is that "long term"? Also it seems to forget some journeys each day. Some days "since start" shows the mileage for the whole day, and other days it resets once or twice. Why is that?

Sounds like Skoda Connect server was down?

Surely there should be a message to tell you that the update wasn't installed as well.

It seems to have disappeared again. When I started the car back up 45 minutes later there was nothing in notifications.

Does this mean it's updating? Can I switch off the ignition?

My 2020 diesel Octavia used to stop the stop-start when the battery was not at an optimum level. There was no warning about the battery then it just didn't stop-start until the engine had been running for a while charging the 12V battery back up.
