Honor 50 and Android Auto/Bluetooth - Skoda Octavia MK4
I would live without the contacts syncing if I would have the same option now. Android auto would do this for me in someway so I wouldnt bother too much now.

CarPlay questions
Thanks for your inputs. I managed to make the waze to provide the voice guidance eventually. But I am not completely sure that this is the resolution. The steps I performed were to uninstall the waze from iphone, then reinstall it. After that, I installed a completely different voice guide in English. And only after that I got back to Romanian directions. From that point, it worked without other issues. In English it worked without any hassle. The directions on VC are not appearing at all, but I never tried apple maps. Going to try that just to confirm if it is related to Carplay or not.

Honor 50 and Android Auto/Bluetooth - Skoda Octavia MK4
I have had the same issues with the contacts on P30 Pro. From time to time they were synced, sometimes they were synced but I couldn't get the call-logs synced or got "de-synced" after the first call and sometimes not of all the contacts were synced - I even had a small fight with my spouse when the car didn't recognized her number, as she thought I removed her from my contacts list. :)) There is an app I have used before the update: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.android_rsap.irmc&hl=en_US It basically "forced" the sync of the contacts with the infotainment, however the call logs were never synced with it, but it was something I could live without. The issue with the contacts/call-logs was resolved with the update to 1896 on my infotainment, a thing that now I am regretting completely due to the restarts of the unit quite often at the start of the car.

CarPlay questions
Hi there, New user on Iphone 14 Pro... There are 2 items that annoy mme in terms of using CarPlay on MK4: 1. when enabling Carplay and a route in Waze, the route guidance is not being updated in the Virtual Cockpit at all. It keeps saying that "Route guidance is not available" (or something like it) and it doesn't seem to work at all - do all Iphone users face the same situation? I have had similar situation in Android Auto, but occasionally. 2. waze indications (voice ones) are being incomplete - most of them are missing: Each navigation voice indication sounds like: "in the next 200 m... <silence> and then <silence>". Are there any items that I am missing to configure on Carplay or infotainment system? I switched from Android to IOS for work reasons but also because I was getting more and more frustrated by the sluggishness of Android Auto (overall slow, with a lot of "Android Auto is not responding" errors, Maps/Waze being unable to open after the last updates, slow switch between songs, failure to connect with phone, etc). Had 3 phones with Android Auto and all of them were slow (S7, P30 Pro, S21 Ultra), a thing that doesn't happen with CarPlay. Infotainment is at 1896. Thanks for your inputs in advance.

Infotainment System Restarting endlessly
Yeah, after one week without issues, mine rebooted 3 times yesterday, one after another. So, no... removal of radio station logos doesn't fix the issue.

Infotainment System Restarting endlessly
Got it. Thanks, I was too lazy to look over the menus :)) - shame on me. Strangely, from Saturday evening it has not restarted anymore. We'll see if this resolves the issue. I am not a fan of logos, so I can live without them.

Infotainment System Restarting endlessly
I'm willing to try and disable the radio logos... The infotainment restarted 4 times today and it started to **** me off.... Anyone has the walkthrough on how to disable them, please?

Infotainment System Restarting endlessly
You can try to update to 1896. However, mine started to reboot after the update so I am not sure that this will resolve your problem.

Infotainment System Restarting endlessly
Mine started to reboot after the update to 1896. Until then, it was smooth AF. I am having other friends with 1896 for the cars that were made for 2021, early 2022 and they all say they are facing the issue randomly. So, I believe that this is a bug within the software that may get resolved in a future release.

Auto unlock
Thats what "enabled" this behavior on my side as well.

Auto unlock
Its inactive.

Auto unlock
I think that is an issue on some cars... I am having the exact same issue. I had the key on my upper sleeve and it wasnt even under some sort of pressure, yet the car opened by itself when I was 1meter close to it. Updating to 1896 has not fixed the issue. We can stay comfortable with the fact that they open only when we are near to them. And no, the setting that opens the car when the key is near it is disabled. Only kessy is active.

Removing chrome trim from front bumper
Yep, I think that is what I am going to do. Looked at it a bit more carefull. The thing is glued to the bumper. No chance in getting it ou without the bumper to look ugly after that.

Removing chrome trim from front bumper
Is it possible to remove the front chrome trim found in Style version of the front bumper? I would want to mantain a non-chrome look for my Octavia 4, but I have the feeling that this stuff is either glued to the plastic elements of the bumper, or it has various clipses that makes it hard to be removed. Has anyone tried to remove it so far?

Headlight condinsation - anyone else getting it?
Had the same issue for about one month - one month and a half after I got the car (got it last year in Jan, 6th). In mid February (while still cold outside) the condensation stopped appearing in the headlights. Never got the condensation ever since (car ran even in -8 degrees C) this December. Maybe I got lucky...

Wireless android auto
Well, the fact that it worked for about 30 mins then looks like it was a bug. A nice to have "bug" for future references tho.

Wireless android auto
You can see the indications in the upper area if you are having route set in one of the gauges, destination set in Waze, and you are attempting to change the information from the gauge which has the navigation indications set. But it doesn't become permanent.

Wireless android auto
@SkOmk4, if you are setting one of your gauges to Routes you should be having them permanently, no matter if you stop the car and restart it. Popping them up is not consistent at all from what I have seen and I am.not sute if this happens on Iphones as well. Now, it depends if you are willing losing the informatiom from the center of a gauge for the instructions of your route. One thing that annoys the hell out of me is the fact that Android Auto, on my infotainment, is usually sluggish and sometimes has a big lag when it comes to user interaction (for example typing an address, scrolling through recent destinations, zooming in and out). This happened to me on 3 devices: one Huawei P30 Pro, one P30 and one S7. Tried two Iphones, there is no lag or sluggishness. I am inclined to think that my infotainment has a problem, or Android Auto is poorly optimized across all smartphones.

New octavia sportline grille
According to the guys from the dealership, the front bumper should be removed as well.

Wireless Android Auto
@alexxutzu as far as I know, Swing works only by USB cable.

Software
Same behavior for me using Spotify in a few occassions - wirelessly and with usb cable. So, I am still feeling that AA is at fault here.

Phone contacts sync
Well I managed to sort it our using a hard reset on my P30 pro. However, call logs are not synced. But I am happy with the fact that the contacts are syncing with the car, and thats enough for me at this moment.

Disabling Stop-Start issue?
Skoda Octavia 1.5 tsi DSG mhev style. When driving in D I want to have stop-start disabled during traffic jams - it's very annoying to have the engine stopped and started when moving an inch forward. Now if I am pressing SET button, and disable the stop-start, the car is supposed to maintain the idle RPM and never cut off the engine, right? Mine basically stops the engine (rpms go to 0, engine gets stopped for a sec) and starts back the engine automatically, without the driver's intervention. However I, personally, don't see this as a normal behavior. The single way to have the engine running all thr time, is to switch to SS. Is this the expected behavior on MHEV? Or is it a bug within the software?

Software
Same behavior is observed on a lower version of the software as well. My belief is that is something off with the Android Auto. I am seeing some performance issues within the application as well (typing on the tablet while on AA connected needs to be slower, otherwise the tablet wont pick up all of the characters). Most likely AA is not 100% compatible with the new gen of MIB. I have had a better peformance of the AA on a 2018 Rapid.
