Best MagSafe Octavia 2020 car iPhone Pro Max holder?
Hi all its Black Friday 2024 and I have a iPhone 15 pro max with a MagSafe case. i have discovered that the pro max is too big for the cup holder space in the Octavia 2019/2020 model and it will fit in the area under the controls but I would now like to look at a MagSafe holder. questions and facts 1. It must be strong enough to hold device such as a heavy pro max iPhone with a strong magnet over bumpy rounds 2. how will it fit? Window suction devices fall off, MagSafe air vents holders, do they damage the air vents. Is the overall weight too much for the vents? 3. other devices that glue to the dashboard I personally don’t like, however some taxis have the old style clamps that push between the panels. Just with so many holders there must be a top 3 devices out there in the UK market that other Skoda drivers use without damaging the dashboard etc. I am worried that a cheap £10-20 device in the air vents may break the vents that then cost ms £100’s to fix. Also weak magnets that let the mobile fall during driving, letting the phone fall under your feet or damage the screen. all advice is good advice. cheers all in advance …

Octavia 2020 1.5 DSG - Rear Total Toe wheel alignment
Hi Warrior I issues with the car at all. It’s 4 years old. Drives like a dream. Never had any excess tyre wear or drift or issues. Don’t seem to have any issues now. I might be able to ask for the sheet or check my records from last year. The garage didn’t seem that concerned and said they could test it again and it would pass as it’s only just in the red. Half of me is thinking I am over thinking it, however I want to make sure it’s not a ‘bump’ issue that should have been fixed at repair. cheers

Octavia 2020 1.5 DSG - Rear Total Toe wheel alignment
Hi Warrior. So it’s worth me asking my insurance company to check with the repairers that this was checked after the body repair? I can’t work out the toe details. Is this a very small movement as it’s only just on the red? cheers

Octavia 2020 1.5 DSG - Rear Total Toe wheel alignment
Hi all Just had a full service and MOT and air con service with no issues except one slight concern. The garage were not concerned and tried to explain the problem but said that it’s a fixed axle and you can’t adjust it, or if they were concerned they would have looked into it more. Apparently the red area is so hardly out that another test might put it back in the green area. I asked why the Rear Total Tow maybe out and was told pot holes etc. To note; car drives superb, only 21k miles, no bad tyre wear, no drifting, or noises. my queries are: 1. Looking at the figures and the red Rear Toe is this something to worry about? Experts will know this. 2. I had an accident in Oct 2023 and the other drive hit the passage side rear wheel and the car needed a new petrol tank metal side area body work and rear bumper. It was just a dent. In fact I drove the car to the work place before it was picked up. (Not a major bump but a good dent in the metal it needed a new panel. Not sure if wheel (alloy) replaced Could this have damaged the Rear Toe? The insurance repair work is guaranteed so should I go back to them? It was fine in last years service. 3. am I overthinking it all. Is this normal and something not all garages check. picture attached of report. cheers all in advance of superb replies. 😎👍🏻

Engine stops during start with DSG gearbox
Hi, has this been sorted or diagnosed at all by Skoda? Although this last post was regarding a Octavia and not a Superb they share a lot of the same engines and DSG gearboxes. I today had this same error in my 2020 Octavia 7 DSG. Came to pickup ticket from car park, barrier rises and the car has cut out? Weird! Last time it did this a lot was a warranty issue with a Yellow engine light. That was a ‘Cam Sensor’ which was replaced under warranty. That would make sense as the engine didn’t know what position the cam was in on the engine and so randomly shuts the car down when stopping at petrol stations or pulling up on my drive way. As I say this was fixed and has been fine for around 9-12 months. May not be linked again. No warning lights this time - Yet. If anyone knows why either a Skoda Octavia or Superb DSG do this randomly then and the main dealer has fixed this please reply. It’s saves the main dealer a lot of time searching for intermittent issues and is owners less headache. cheers All. 😳😃😎👍🚗

Amundsen MIB2 no internet connection
Hi all. so the car went in for warranty work and by the end the manager and Skoda customer services had the Skoda Connect working on an Android device. It showed the white globe, a WLAN interface icons and had the petrol and details on the app. however when I then tried to link it with my iPhone although I got to register the car, it showed much the same as other users. It failed to show any car data such as fuel etc. instead displaying the ‘not compatible message’?! why? It worked on Android but not iOS apps. Is there an error with the iOS app? To be honest I was glad I connected the car and it’s registered but it’s pretty pointless. It’s just info that we already know. Just connect CarPlay and get on with it using Google Maps, Waze or Apple Maps. I did however update the SD card for my Sat Nav. Very easy and far simpler than the pointless My Skoda App. cheers All

New car TSI rattle
This appears to be the issue: hopefully nothing serious. Would like to know if it’s just vibration or a possible future fault. cheers All

Knocking sound on idle
Hi I seem to have the exact same issue. I have a cam sensor issue that’s being fixed so I thought it was down to a bad idle. However I am glad that you have found the issue with the solenoid valve. What was the outcome of the visit to the garage? 1. is this normal and nothing to worried about? 2. is the solenoid faulty or will the vibration damage anything? 3. can this be repaired or replaced under warranty. Also my car only has 5k on it and a lot of people are saying they have this noise from nearly new. Will this part fail every 5-10k or is this a recall or known issue from Skoda? Any updates would be great. Thanks (In my attached video you can hear the sound stop after 17s with a picture of my finger in the shot. )

So here we all are, waiting for a software update on the car system or a signal from Skoda central servers or data centres that this Skoda Connect and online systems are now fixed and fully working. If anyone gets their systems updated by their dealer and it makes a difference to this, or has a wonder solution please post it on here. I have so far lost faith in it. Going to wait for the next update and see if Skoda fixes anything at all. in the end of the day they can’t keep selling cars where the app doesn’t work in the new or nearly new cars. Someone will want results and something will be done. cheers All …

Amundsen MIB2 no internet connection
Hi All reading this after just visiting my local dealer with exactly the same issue. 1. red globe 2. spinning activation screen, never requests PIN number on my iPhone. 3. Linked WLAN to iPhone hotspot and my home Virgin 350 Wi-Fi. 4. Factory reset just Skoda connect and all settings tried everything, even had the great team at my local dealer come out to the car and attempt it also. I simply want it to connect to see the free options. I can’t remember adding any credit card details in the app so how would they charge you? Even so surely you can cancel it anyway. car has to go back in coming weeks, I think I will just ask for a software upgrade. If that doesn’t work then I will quit for now. will be watching on her anyway.
