  1. Hey, thank you so much for your response! I’m switching like for like! Surprised by the cost of a battery from Euro Car Parts… I’ve gone with Tayna an online supplier. Their prices are excellent. That’s smart, I didn’t know that about the radio. Thanks again! Conal
  2. Hey, I’ve literally just ordered a new Varta 096EFB battery for my Skoda Rapid 2017. Since then I’ve read I need to code the new battery. Is this the case? also where are the radio codes stored without there being a physical manual? many thanks, Conal
  3. I called them on the way home when I noticed it… the service dept were to call me back… they didn’t call this evening. I’m hoping they call tomorrow. Whoever broke it will know they done it. Very unfortunate.
  4. Quick update. The fault was repaired today they did not replace the entire selector. They used the switch repair kit - invoice read £125 for parts. bad news… they broke a clip completing the repair 🙈😡
  5. Hey, this is super helpful!! Can I ask what TPI means? the attachment is unavailable.
  6. Great point it does appear like a reminder to take your mobile or ‘manually start car’. I’ve read a lot of threads that indicate a steering column fault. It’s impossible to recreate therefore proving impossible to diagnose 😡.
  7. Like a lot of people mines flashes for 2 seconds and the dash returns to normal. 👎
  8. Hey, do you know if the diagnostics threw up an error? my local garage west end Edinburgh previously said it’s not registering an error. It’s back in on Friday for another diagnostic check. glad you got a good solution. I’m under warranty so really pushing Skoda Edinburgh.
  9. I’m having a nightmare! I tried to get a refund on my car as it was under 30 days old. They wouldn’t take it back despite there being 3 significant issues. Faulty wheel bearing causing TPMS light. coolant loss. error place vehicle in P. Badly prepped vehicle as 2/3 issues are clear. West End Skoda said it’s Skoda UK who refund the car. Absolute rubbish. Even after being told by Skoda UK they need to refund the car they haven’t. Skoda UK have told West End they need to look at my car again on 12.08.22). Skoda UK need the garage to contact Milton Keynes Skoda to aid diagnostics. It’s a wild goose chase. Should they fail to address the issue this time I’ll be going down the motor ombudsman route. there is a YouTube video to replace the switch.
  10. Thanks for that… random question. Lots of people are talking about not being able to remove their key. Should I be able to place my car in neutral and remove the key. Currently I can only remove key if vehicle is in P. I assumed this was a safety feature but I’ve never owned an automatic before so unsure if this is the case. Thanks.
  11. Can anyone help! I have this issue. It has appeared 6 times in 2 months. dealership in Edinburgh say there is no fault. Contact Skoda Uk. Skoda UK are saying the dealer says there is no fault. Car is under warranty but it’s no good if they can’t find or replicate the fault. Thanks.
  12. Hey! Thanks for the response. I’m sorry I’m a bit new to these engines. It is the 1.4 TDI with DSG gear box. what is the known coolant issue and what is a TPI. Sorry for the questions. It is the well known place in P issue. Thanks to previous posts for covering this. Yeah it’s approved used with 1 year warranty from West End Edinburgh. thanks again.
  13. Hey! I purchased a Skoda rapid under a month ago… I’ve been faced with lots of issues. leaking windscreen was the first. Next up we have a TPMS light - the master technician is taking it to his house tonight to test if cleaning the reluctor wheel was enough. Then we have some more concerning issues. Mainly an error flashing up saying worship only place vehicle in P. Skoda are saying the fault was not logged despite appearing 2/3 times in succession. I took the car for its first drive (80 miles) and lost a lot of coolant. I understand this could be due to an air lock but with the other issues I feel like there’s potentially more to this… what’s your thoughts, should I get a refund/exchange or let fix. Skoda will not replace gear shifter without master technician seeing the error on the dash or in a read out. thanks for your support. conal
