Can’t have fish fingers without chips! -
John2022 started following Handbrake sticks on and then clunks free when you set off , Notchy gear change , Handbrake position and 1 other

Not experienced that. The selector did take three to four thousand miles to free up though. Doubt if it’s anything major.
-
Not found it a problem. The arm rest thing is though if it is down and forward!

Last night’s tea was - Tesco’s finest fish cake with boiled spuds, peas and white sauce. However, the fish cake took ages to heat up properly in the oven, so I treated it to a severe dose of microwave radiation, whereupon it exploded and emptied most of Tesco’s added creamy goodness inside of it onto the plate. The potatoes split their sides in laughing and the peas wrinkled up in derision of the whole sorry business. I don’t believe in cruets; salt is banned and pepper is added before the incineration phase of the operation – therefore they are superfluous and are banned! 😁 -
That looks very impressive, puts me to 😳

So Scala owners, what do you think to your car ?

Hopefully the rain held off this time for you!

Thank heaven for the freezer. The trouble is that’s full to bursting - must stop buying food…… -

Day three of the battle of the Brisket. Shepherds pie, one serving for me, two for the freezer- and I still have a very generous serving of meat lurking in the fridge. Mega sized beef sarnies for luncheon tomorrow then! -

I have the 1.5 manual SE trim on 16 inch wheels. I find the gearbox is a delight, almost one finger operation and the car is smooth, easy to drive (very quick if you want it to be), comfortable and easy to maneuver into tight spaces etc. I am not into bells and whistles hence the SE spec and I use an iPhone and google maps. Niggles - well the front seat doesn't fully recline which makes getting long stuff into the car a bit of a pain and that's about it. Oh the engine is so quiet and smooth its is very easy to find oneself at 10 mph going around a tight roundabout etc. in 5th or 6th gear..... needless to say the engine coughs and stalls when you put the accelerator down to speed up. As long as the engine revs remain above 1500 in the higher gears its absolutely fine. Ride can be a bit bumpy and noisy depending on the surface but the 16 inch wheels are definitely a softer ride than the alternatives - I found the Monte Carlo version which I drove as a test drive quite harsh at times. Last nights tea was slow cooked Brisket pot roast. Tonight's tea was, somewhat inevitably, warmed up Brisket, Bubble and Squeak, extra Green Stuff to show off and gravy from the post roast liquor. Followed by a choc ice! -

This happens to my Scala as it has on the last few Vauxhalls I had with rear disc brakes, usually after heavy rain or a car wash as has been said. Not a real problem, just annoying. If the car is a manual and it really irritates you and the drive is level you could leave the car in gear with the handbrake off. -

I endured three weeks in China on a business trip years ago. Had to use chop sticks for nearly everything - very frustrating....
