  1. Because I am not tech savvy I bought a 2022 Skoda SD card off ebay for £22 ish straight in and works great with no issues whatsoever. Have saved my original card with 2020 maps on which I will try to update using the Skoda portal for a spare. If I cant will simply buy another Skoda card from ebay in say another 2 or 3 years time to keep updated. For me its worth about £10 per year to keep my Navigation maps up to date without hassle .
  2. Hi @mangham54, welcome to the forum. Regarding tyres that improve the ride quality I would echo numskull and go with all seasons. I changed over the OM Bridgestone Potenzas which were rough riding and noisy beyond belief to Michelin Crossclimate 2 all round and the difference in ride quality is like night and day . They are smooth, quiet and very responsive in all conditions and thats with 19 inch alloys.
  3. Have to agree with Awesam regarding the Bridgestone Potenza tyres being noisy. I have a FL 2.0 TSI SE L Superb on 19 inch wheels I bought at 2 years old fitted with Potenzas and could not believe how noisy the car was when driving. After months of agonising about whether I should get rid or go to 17 inch alloys with all season tyres ( about a £1400 outlay ouch!!) I finally decided on fitting Michelin crossclimate 2 to the original 19 inch rims ( £720 outlay ) All I can say is the car ride quality has been transformed from clunky and noisy to very smooth and much quieter to the point where I am now actually enjoying the car as it should be. Cheers
  4. Hi Q102 , Hope you have not missed a trick by not choosing the crossclimate 2 . I have now had them on my 2.0 TSI SEL with 19 in wheels for the past 5 months and I can confirm that they have transformed the ride from the OEM Potenzas they replaced. The ride is now smooth and far quieter than I expected , pot holes are now only a subdued bump rather than a crash through the car. They are very smooth and grippy in wet weather , even better in thunderstorms. In dry conditions they are very quiet and smooth and grip well. Cant wait to test them in the snow because if that's what they excel in I should be in for a bit of fun😀
  5. Thanks Varooom and Gaz for the welcome, hopefully good times ahead. Yes agree Gaz about the Mk 1 Superb being a great car. From what I can remember my Elegance Auto had all the whistles and bells including sunroof, Nappa leather throughout, wood trim etc. It always made me laugh when all the other guys in the office were choosing 3 series BMWs and c class Mercs but always jumped at the chance to go out in the Superb for long distance customer visits. Badge snobs the lot of them Stonechip
  6. Hello. I thought I would introduce myself with a short story . In 2001 A Skoda Superb Elegance appeared on my company car list and after seeking out a skoda dealer ( not too many back then) I opted for a 1.9TDI Auto in Saraha Beige IIRC. 3 years later and 105,000 trouble free miles it reluctantly went back and to my disappointment Skoda than was not on the list. I lost count of the times random people came up to me to ask about Skoda and I felt like an unpaid advert with the praise I doled out!!. Now retired I have bought myself a 2019 facelifted Superb hatch 2.0TS1 in Quartz Grey with 16000 miles on the clock , with optional 19 in alloys, auto park and virtual cockpit. So some 20 years later I am getting acquainted again with Skoda and enjoying every minute.
