  1. personally I would go for the facelift model especially if you are thinking of keeping the car for a number of years
  2. A good mid range price wise is Delphi - I have had new discs and pads all round from Delphi fitted last year and they have been very good both in performance and low brake dust. Would have again no problem
  3. Reading this thread makes me realise that newer doesn't always mean better, I have a MY20 SE L Hatchback which was the first of the facelift models to hit the UK ( 69 REG) . So the car has Amundsen 2.5MIB fitted with nav and music SD card slots. I have all my music in MP3 format on the SD card by artist, album and track which list plays faultlessly through the Media and digital cockpit screen - and when required again plays from the last play. For me as a luddite where technology is concerned this system I have is perfect and has helped me in my decision to keep with this car instead of updating with a newer model. Just saying like 😁
  4. Hi @StariBluzer Sorry to confuse you - just realised that you may be based outside the UK and I have mentioned my reading incorrectly in meters. My readings are in yards and always have been so I am still zooming down to 30 yards, or 27.4 meters.
  5. I have a 2019 SE L with Amundsen Nav and as far as I can remember 30 meters is the biggest zoom in it has ever achieved. Even with a Ebay bought official Skoda 2024 SD card all POIs are shown and a fair number of street names shown. Hope the above is of use
  6. For the last 4 years I have been driving a SE L Hatchback 2.0TSI 190 on 19 inch wheels. The engine is very good, quiet, responsive and trouble free and IMO is very well suited to the car. Unfortunately economy is not its strong point - as others have stated if you are motorway driving at legal speeds you will see 45+ mpg however the moment you hit town driving you are down to low 30s mpg in summer and you will see 24mpg on short winter runs in town. I am retired so most of my driving is rural /town with say 25% motorway now and my total mpg is 32,6 Having said the above I would not go back to diesel because of the quality of the drive with 2.0 petrol Hope the above helps
  7. Hi @Albourneboy I am also long in the tooth and have considered changing from the Superb to the Kodiaq for reasons like better entry etc. However I also suffer from arthritis in my ankle which makes the pedal positions in some of the Korean SUVs Ive tried more upright and more difficult for me to use after a short time. Have you found the pedal positions and angles similar on the Kodiaq to the Superb?
  8. As JR RS I used fuse 47 for my dash cam install . That was about 3 years ago and have had no problems since
  9. I had exactly the same problem about 2 years ago. The dealer changed a "switch" in the steering column ( could that be the clock spring?) said it was loose. Since then no problem. Hope this helps
  10. Hi @Car65 I only cover 5000 miles a year ( retired) and have never had to top up the oil between services Hope this helps
  11. I have the EA888 Gen 3b 2.0TSI on a 69 plate hatchback. I find the engine really good. responds well, quiet and shows no sign of being underpowered pulling around the Superb. I have only covered 35,000 miles but still found the engine trouble free.
  12. @D402 Thanks for coming back feel a bit happier now to use Delphi parts . All the best sorting out your brake judder
  13. Hi D402 Are the worn discs and pads in your photo Delphi parts as in the box displayed(?) or are you changing them for new Delphi discs and pads? The reason I ask is I am due to renew the OEM discs and pads and have been offered Delphi as one of the better brands for the job, would be interested in your thoughts
  14. I find them good and stable even in heavy rain /puddles . My car is a SEL Hatch 190 TSI FWD and I would never go back to summer tyres all year round because the CC2s winter driving advantage far far outweighs any summer driving "disadvantages" that may exist which I personally have never experienced Hope this helps
  15. I am based in the UK and can confirm that the Cross climate 2s are excellent in the summer as well as brilliant in the snow. I run on 19 inch rims and find the cross climate 2 a lot more quiet and a smoother ride than the OEM Bridgestones they replaced. They are very stable and I have no idea what you mean by turn in and feel bite- can you please explain?
  16. The BSM along with matrix LED lighting is in my humble opinion the two most useful things on the car for everyday driving. The BSM looks backwards and works as the name suggests to warn you when vehicles are approaching either side and alert you not to change lane if you want to avoid a collision. If you are in the fast lane barrelling past cars in the nearside lane then the BSM remains unlit because you are traveling faster than other vehicles
  17. To be sure your nearside indicator is not working drive on any road with a clear left hand lane and providing you are moving at say 20 mph + wait until someone "undertakes you " at more than the 20 mph+ and your nearside BSM should light up at around 50 yds as the car approaches , If your were daft enough to put on your nearside indicator your nearside BSM should flash to alert you. Mine do not light when I am passing cars only when cars are passing me on both sides If any /none of the above does not happen I would say its not working Hope the above makes sense
  18. I am lucky to see 24mpg when driving in town , I have the 190 EA888 gen 3B and its great, being quiet and very responsive but sadly I find fuel economy to be low. I have averaged 32 mpg over 25,000 miles ( 70% urban ) and I usually drive with a relatively light right foot. Having said all that I still wouldn't change it for a diesel, i think petrol ICEs suit the Superb better.
  19. I can assure you that the 190 engine is anything but sluggish - I rarely use sport mode unless I am playing stick with the BMW on A roads!! Wonder if the test vehicle was a 1.5?
  20. I bought a 69 plate face lift SEL 2.OTSI 190 hatchback . It was manufactured in July 2019 and has been brilliant with no trouble . Besides all the facelift updates - new front and back matrix LED lights ( worth it alone) mine still has the detachable light in the boot and has fitted extras such as 19 inch canopus alloys, digital cockpit and self park , It was a Skoda head office registered car ( KY69 ) which i believe may have been considered for the launch reviews The engine is very quiet and responsive and the 7 speed DQ381 is free of hesitation and butter smooth.
  21. I hardwired a Nextbase dash cam in my MY2020 SEL Hatch with no rear wiper. Used fuse 47 which is switched and works great Hope this helps
  22. Is their a more detailed breakdown than the example you have shown? Where you have additional work what actually was the work? Also how does a potential buyer know if the car has had brake fluids changed . filters changed . DSG oil changed etc?
  23. Like @Danoid I have a SEL running on 235/40/19 tyres with standard suspension and agree that the ride was comfortable and reasonably quiet. then I had Michelin Cross climate2s all round and this has given the ride quality a big lift now very stable and quiet If anyone has 19 inch rims running on Bridgestone OEM tyres and are finding them very loud change to All season tyres and see ( and hear!!) the difference
  24. Last year I had front and back genuine OEM mudflaps supplied and fitted by my local Skoda dealer for £100, which TBH I thought was reasonable. They have been very good and kept the car a lot cleaner throughout this winter. Would certainly have them fitted on my next car
