  1. The Fabia is letting water into the boot. At first it was the boot seal — water was coming over the top of the seal and into the car. I slightly bent up the lip that the boot seal sits on to bring the seal closer to the boot when it’s closed. That helped a bit, but it’s still letting water in so i put it back to how it was from factory and will try a new boot seal first if i can find one lol. Now water is getting in through a hole just under the boot release latch/lock, (not the air vents or hole with grommets in them, it’s just above that. could be a seam that the water is getting through) and it’s filling up the spare wheel well. Has anyone had a similar issue and what fixed it ? It’s doing my head in now The air vents are dry, the grommets are dry. i know where the water is coming from but i can’t seem to fix it.
  2. Steering wheel light keeps coming and going off once turned on and off. recently had a new rack a few months back. never really felt the same since then but drove fine none the less. Haven’t been able to get the code to come on with a code reader to hand. i’m assuming it’s the pump or sensor. the Fluid level is fine. Any ideas ?
  3. changed steering rack on a 06 blt fabia with a reconditioned oem one as the old one popped. bleed the rack a few times with and without the cap on the power steering pump res. feels heavy at first then catch's up with it self, feels like there's a notch in it . same as when being driven. cleared all codes etc. no lights on the dash. battery a year old. was maybe driven 2 miles max with little to none fluid it in when the old rack did pop.then removed the fuse from top of battery when driving to the garage. any ideas ? also never took the dogbone bolt out that sit under the rack as i’ve seen that happen too many times so it’s not that. really stuck now.
  4. Hi all, my horns not worked for as long as I’ve owned the car. I’ve recently change the squib/clockspring that didn’t work. I’m not getting any power to the horn it’s self but the horn is working when you you a test on diag tool. I can’t hear the relay noise when I press the air bag but if it works on the diag tool test then power must go through the relay for it to work? Really stuck and need to sort it for MOT
  5. I’m after a squib for my car. My horns not working was told it’ll be my squib but need a part number. The cars a 2006 blt fabia vrs ASR. The horn works when doing a test on the snap on machine. Don’t get any power to the horn when pressing the steering wheel. But if the horn does work then I’m assuming the power has to go through the relay for it to work so it wouldn’t be the relay in the bcm. Anyway just looking for a part number asap as MOT is soon. Cheers PFA

  8. I messed around with cam timing till I could see no more major improvements, new-fuel filter, maf and it’s pretty reasonable now. Computer says on average 54mpg which is off but tank to tank (40L around 400 miles give or take) i get about 44mpg average.
  9. EDIT* it is coming on now Also when I purchased the car the front did have some damage nothing major but it could’ve set the airbag off. Would that have anything to do with the light not coming on and why the horns not working?
  10. Update the air bag light doesn’t show up during ignition cycle. I’m not sure if that’s anything to do with it?
  11. no I haven’t tested the actual horn it’s self yet but I’m not getting any power down there anyway.
  12. 100% not getting a relay clicking noise when pressing the horn in. Also not getting any power at all to the horn it self. I’ve checked and tested the fuse again thats all good. Had the horn off and that all looked fine also. Kinda of stuck now. Also wasn’t able to do a output test on the horn as my vcds won’t let me use any other module for some reason.
  13. Just checked the fuse and that’s fine even tried another just to make sure.
  14. Hello, my horns is not working. I replaced the steering wheel and horn as it was really grubby when I got the car but I’m not sure if it worked before that as the car wasn’t on the road for a few months after that. I’ve checked the connections and that all looks fine. I can’t hear a clicking noise when pressing the horn with the ignition on so I’m assuming the relay is knackered. I know there are relays under the dash but does anyone know where it actually is? I will check the contacts tomorrow and to see if the horn actually does work in the mean time. Cheers

  16. Are there many yellow fabias left nowadays ? This is mine currently.
  17. Swapped the maf over yesterday been on a good 2 hour drive and I’m getting just over 40mpg now. But still poor for a standard fabia in my opinion. Starting to lean towards timing now. I did have a somewhat similar issue on my old one where the cam angle was set back to 0 and the car really didn’t like. Which was resolved with a few hours of messing around on vcds and test drives.I don’t really have nothing to go off with how the car ran before this other than it sounded pretty rough before the timing belt etc was done.
  18. My first drive in the car was just over 2 weeks ago now. It’s just been a little project for me. But yeah timing belt has recently just be done. I’m not sure what it was like before this as I never drove it for more than a mile tops if that. I shall swap the mafs over tomorrow from my other fab and give that try.
  19. Hello, recently started driving my yellow fab after 6 months of ownership and noticed how bad it is on fuel. Standard car other than and FMIC and EGR delete. Well from what it’s telling me anyway and compared to my last 2 fabs. I’m getting no more the 38mpg where as I’m use to getting 60 average in my last 2. All grandad driving mainly on dual carriages ways and motorways. I’ve recently had my a full belt kit and also had a new temp sensor and thermostat. I’ve also checked for boostleak and everything is how it should be. Is there anything else that could be the causing the bad fuelling other than timing before I investigate. Cheers
  20. Just for an update. Car was 100% a sprint yellow car. Paint had seen better days. Cars had a fresh respray. Currently still off the road. But here she is !
  21. I’ve got another vrs here that’s my daily I can use it to check against. Where would be best to start getting measurements from?
  22. Mk1 fabia Vrs. When I bought the car it did have some damage to front end but nothing too serious. (Picture attached). The bonnet on the car won’t close tidy(you have to force it after a few pushes down) or align correctly as when you do close the bonnet it pulls the bonnet all the way to passenger side basically touching the wing and leaving a big gap. I’ve have tried new hinges. Tried realigning the bonnet numerous times. Tried adjusting the the latch on the bonnet and the catch on the slam panel and tried adjust almost every else also the best I can. I’ve also tried a new bonnet and that was exactly the same. Nothing has worked. With the catch removed I can get the bonnet to line up almost perfectly leading me to believe the frame of the car isn’t bent as it wouldn’t line up at all. Could it be that the top part of the slam panel is bent pushing the catch too far over to the one side causing the problem. Just wanted to know if anyone else has experienced the same problem. Cheers. Pictures attached below. They make it look not as bad as it sounds but in person it’s really annoying. Please ignore the multi coloured parts it’s all being sprayed next month.
  23. Hey mate, in need of a repair on my driver window motor.
  24. Car was machine polished not long before I bought it. Going to give it ago before I do make a decision but I am already in the talks of getting the full car resprayed . When I look at the car I see facelift yellow and also in the service schedule it has the facelift yellow paint code in there. But when you start to look closer it does look off. Also I wet and sanded in an area that would need spraying anyway and much more darker yellow was underneath. Whether that’s the primer used or the original paint. Also where there is supposedly lacquer peel it’s looks a lot more like the wrong yellow chipping off and revealing.
  25. Just recently purchased this. Are there many facelift yellow fabias left on the road nowadays? Mines seems to be faded or possibly at one point in its life sprayed the wrong yellow but who ever did it never left a single tape line or any over spray. But is there anyway to try and see if I can get the colour back without getting a full respray. Colour seems to be faded and doesn’t pop as much as you would think. I’ve also wet and dried in one place that would need spraying regardless and a darker yellow seems to be underneath it. here are some pictures (only ones I have atm)
