  1. I don't know how to use Facebook, but I think that there are enough people interested in this idea already on this forum. That would be nice to have a proper owner's club!
  2. No problem don't worry. I think that's a great idea and I'd be happy to be part of the SOCGB!
  3. I was at Chatsworth rally show yesterday (was anybody else there?), it was very good. There were apparently some big names and to see them driving was spectacular. Even the "older" ones have still got the skill, talent and enthusiasm required to impress. There were all sorts of cars, little old ones and powerful modern ones. It was a good show. I also enjoyed walking through the car owners' clubs stands. The Evo one was cool. So that made me wonder if there is a VRs Fabia (I own an SE) owner's club in the country? After all, there was an Audi A2 one...). That could be fun, a bunch a of VRs, including SEs at a motorsport event somwhere __________________
  4. They are probably worth good money, but I wouldn't sell mine, since the point of having an SE, to me, lies in the pleasure of driving a car that only very few people have. I don't think many people would sell it; also, it's a very recent car: 07 number plates. The vast majority of owners will probably keep it for a while before selling it, or even forever. As I said, it just feels great to own the SE, it is such a rare good deal. I know I probably won't own many cars with a unique number on my leather seats!
  5. My SE vrs is fast and performant enough for me. It's a great compromise btw economy and fun. I know a guy who owns a Subaru and he can't wait to change it for a performant diesel as he spends ridiculous amounts of money on petrol.
  6. You're in the same position as we (France) are in. We need to beat Ireland next week-end otherwise it's "au revoir" before time, that would be so embarrasing... I hope that the french rugby team will do like the football one in the last world cup: rubbish at the start but going a long way then...allez les bleus!
  7. Seb already won the Donegall (right spelling?) rally back in June, so I think he'll do well in that one too. Yes, the Irish seem to be very good at rallying, it would be interesting if they joined the WRC.
  8. Being french, I could be very glad that Sebastien's most serious (and only real) rival is retiring at the end of this season, since that will leave Seb free to win even more races However, it might get TOO easy for him and the WRC may become far less exciting... unless Hirvonen or someone else steps up and competes on the same level as Seb, but at the moment that seems quite unlikely to me. Whoever wins the WRC this season (Seb is 10 points behind Marcus with 5 races to go), Marcus is definitely a great driver, and their rivalry makes this competition very exciting and entertaining. So it's a shame :( , but he's obviously earned it. Enjoy your retirement Marcus.
  9. i've got to say i love your jokes guys! Anyway, we'll just have to wait and see.
  10. i'm afraid there's a lot of idiots out there, driving like lunatics, doing stupid things and reacting aggressively all the time... if someone drives too close to me to try to make me go faster, like in a 30 zone eg, i'll happily turn cruise control on 30... Usually they back off a little bit. Don't speed up otherwise they win.
  11. Being French, I'm glad to see that there will be a French driver racing in Formula 1 next season. He'll race for Toro Rosso... anyway, he's a three 3 time Champ car world series winner, so he has got talent. Yes, big hopes for another Sebastien... as long as he is given a decent car. At least i'll have someone to cheer for! :P
  12. thanks for all these replies, and i'm just going to keep doing what i've done so far: take it for a handwash. For less than a fiver they make it look shiny!
  13. wow, that's a lot of damage, but you're fine, that's the main thing. As an SE owner, i can imagine how you feel after this. Sorry.
  14. sorry about the car, but at least you're fine.
  15. Is car wash really bad for new cars? Does it damage the painting a little bit and leave marks? Some people say you shouldn't wash a a new car in it. So far i've always had it hand washed, and those guys have always done a great job:thumbup: Treating my SE like a diamond...
  16. In my previous message i was asking how much money you've spent or will spend on your car. Some of you do spend a lot on it indeed. I suppose it's a passion. To be honest i wouldn't do it, it's not my thing, but i respect people who do if they love it. I've got a fabia vRS SE, so it's already quite complete anyway (leather seats,...). By the way, I might sound ignorant, but what's a remap (sorry, i don't understand this word, i'm french)? Is it sthg to do with the revs? Thanks for your replies guys, have a good week-end.
  17. so sorry to hear that mate. Thanks goodness you're fine and noone was hurt. The best of luck.
  18. I'd like to know, just out of curiosity, how much some of you have spent or plan to spend to modify your car. Do you do it yourselves? do you improve its performance by a lot? Or do you just change its looks? Just being curious, talk soon

    hello

you're right Gaff, it was just too easy for Loeb last year! He does seem a little bit off this year indeed, even though he's won a few races. Never mind, we'll see how it goes for the rest of the season
  20. This site looks very interesting! I've just added my name to the fabia vRS SE owners'list:thumbup: See you soon!
  21. thanks Mike, I've just done it. Everyone with an SE should put their name on it! this should be the official Fabia vRS SE owners national list! Yann
  22. Hi, I'm new here, but this site looks interesting. I'm the lucky owner of a fabia vRS Special Edition since July, it's so cool! What a beautiful and performant car it is, for the price, and it's also economical. What do you think about this car (SE or not)? I prefer the old Fabia, I just don't like the looks of the new one. Yann
  23. I'm French and obviously fully supports Sebastien Loeb in his quest for a 4th title. However, I'm worried that Marcus might win the WRC this year, being 13 points ahead. With 7 races to go, we'll just have to wait and see and they get on on the asphalt, Loeb being better on that surface, everything is still possible. Untypically, he's made a couple of major mistakes this season, when he was ahead but then went too fast in some places and lost it. shame, but i know it's part of the game. Any WRC fans supporting Loeb? Take care Yann
