Rear Disc size
Thanks Austin 7 When I had the wheel off last night I had a go at the carrier bolts and the two on the driver side loosened off fairly easily. I’ve done a fair few pad and disc changes to VW cars and I had an original Yeti 170hp when they first came out and did an all round disc & pad change on it.

Thanks Carlston, appreciated. I took a wheel off tonight and measured them to about the 272 or thereabouts but your information lets me get the discs and pads ordered.

Rear Disc size
I’m going to change my rear discs and pads but I’m not sure what size I need as Auto Doc is showing up a few different sizes. Yeti 2017 1.4 tsi 4x4 I’ve checked the build data sticker in the boot but that wasn’t much help as it was so faded. Can anyone advise?

Scott And Alana's Yeti 4x4 Modifications And Adventures
Thanks, great information. I’ve never used mine off-road but where I live I’d be cut off at certain times due to snow if I didn’t have a set of winter tyres, I’ve just got to the stage I can’t be bothered changing over the wheels twice a year 🤦♂️. I was looking at Hankook or Kumho all seasons but I really like the look of your steel rims and the more aggressive looking tread on the Yeti. I’m thinking for the addition £350 odd I could have another set of rims. I can store the original rims with all the other sets I’ve accumulated 🤷♂️

Scott And Alana's Yeti 4x4 Modifications And Adventures
Thanks for the link for the supplier. How are you finding the new wheels/ tyres, I assume the ride might be improved given the bigger sidewall? How are they in the dry? I noticed they are M&S rated but they then state they are true all season tyres tyres? I’m slightly concerned the wear rate once temperatures begin to rise.

Brake pads advice
Sorry can’t edit. it appears there are 3 disc sizes, 280 , 288 or 302. I assume it’s either 280 or 288, any advise? I’ve checked through the guides on Briskoda but can’t find the information.

Brake pads advice
Decided my front pads need changed, I’ve had the wheels off and the discs are still excellent and although there is still a decent amount left on the pads I’d rather change them now. it’s something I can do myself but when I looked at pad options it appears there are two options relating to the disc size, 280 or 302, I never measured the disc when the wheel was off. The Yeti is 1.4tsi L&K 4x4. Can anyone advise the front disc size and recommend a decent pad, I’m thinking perhaps Pagid or Bosch? thanks.

Rattle from front of yeti
My original yeti was a diesel and it had an annoying rattle from around the engine bulkhead definitely not a knock though, turned out it was the metal pipes that ran across there from the servo. The clips installed from manufacture wasn’t enough so I packed them with foam sections. I put a post and pictures on here that was probably 2012 right enough.

1.4 tsi 150 Oil Change
Thank you xman, that’s really appreciated. I’ve bought hundreds of filters over the years for all sorts of machines and this one had me confused. I get quite a bit of parts from Autodoc and they show both the Mann filters pictured as being compatible. I’ll go with the top one.

1.4 tsi 150 Oil Change
Some of the Ridex filters are showing the filter to have smaller protruding male part on the casing?

1.4 tsi 150 Oil Change
I have now covered about 8k miles since I got the L&K last year and I’d like to do an oil change myself on the car before it’s actually due a service. Can anyone give me the part number for the oil filter and recommend a filter manufacturer, is it really necessary for a VAG filter? Bosch 501440627 is coming up in a search but I’ve seen pictures online of a different type filter? I assume the filter is front right low on this engine and the engine tray has to be removed? Thanks

Would you risk buying an L&K ?
I took the chance. Having had a 170hp Yeti before I was looking for a petrol 4x4 manual this time so choice was pretty sparse for anything low mileage. I waited for a good few months before an 18k mile full service history L&K came up this time last year. After a few months I did notice a very small amount of water in the passenger footwell when I washed the car, I cleaned all the roof channels out and used an airline to blow out the drain pipes and that cured the issue, zero water ingress now even right through the winter. I know it’s not really recommended to blow out the drain pipes but thought it was worth taking the chance and it definitely worked for me. Very happy with the L&K.

Your Yeti pet hate?
Update went back to it and it seems to be working correctly.

Your Yeti pet hate?
Locks all the doors at the same time as I close the boot. It also does the same if I open a door and then close it.

Your Yeti pet hate?
I bought another one, a 1.4L&K 4x4 this time, much quieter than my previous 170hp diesel Yeti. What is really annoying me is the auto locking, eg I unlock the car and go into the boot, close the boot to get into the car but it auto locks. I don’t remember my previous one doing this and I ca find an opt to disable it?

Yeti owner's previous 'cars with character'
Well I’m now on my second Yeti so I’m going to include my first one. In order. Mercedes W123 230ce Subaru Impreza RB5 Skoda Yeti 170 Elegance

Subframe corrosion
I noticed a small area of blistering on the bottom of the drivers door that I assume is zinc inclusion. I was fortunate that my pre Yeti didn’t suffer from this. Whats the best way to treat it before it gets worse? Is it a manufacturer issue and dealt with by the dealer under the paint warranty?

Back in the Yeti fold
Been a while! I almost immediately regretted selling my Yeti, much as the other cars were nice in their own way they were just cars🤷♂️ I actually nearly bought a Suzuki Jimny but much as I liked the quirkiness I knew I'd soon get tired of its lack of motorway speed. I'm really enjoying this Yeti and the petrol engine is so quiet compared to my previous diesel Yeti. Great going back through the forum too seeing all the old familiar names, the knowledge and information on it always was top-notch.
