Hello from Ross on Wye
Thanks to Mr Khan we were forced to give up a lovely Freelander and like you, being of the older generation and with the usual knee problems, needed an easily accessible replacement. Ended up with Karoq Sportline 1.5dsg, very pleased with it. As for the forum, don’t just focus on the Kamiq section as similar questions you might have can crop up in other areas.

Hello from Ross on Wye
Welcome. Possibly the briefest intro, succinct and to the point 😏 I was new to this forum about six months and found there’s a lot of learned people on here, I’m not one of them mind.

Advice please 2021 Karoq 2.0Tsi Sportline
Although it was back in June, I got a decent deal through Camskill and had my local tyre guy fit them. At that time Michelin we’re also doing a cashback offer which went towards the fitting costs.

Asking for Skoda Karoq 1.6 TDI 2019 All weather recommendation
We run a 2020 Sportline 1.5dsg on 19in CrossClimates. Previously had these fitted on a Subaru Forester and LR Freelander and never had a problem. I accept that in SELondon we don’t see depths of snow that others might experience in other parts of the country, but am still very happy with the CCs in all weathers. Bought ours through Camskill about 4 months ago and had my local guy fit them. On offer at the time with a cashback offer from Michelin

Advice please 2021 Karoq 2.0Tsi Sportline
Mines a 2020 Sportline 1.5dsg and managed to acquire a space saver from another forum member and have since bought a wheel brace, all fitting neatly in the well under the floor of the boot. As for tyres, I bought CrossClimates to replace the 19in OEM Bridgestones which me and Significant Other hated with a passion. It was that or downsizing wheels and tyres. Can’t recommend the CCs highly enough.

Advice please 2021 Karoq 2.0Tsi Sportline
Think the mirrors retract automatically when the cars locked. As for the self-locking on moving off, the time delay for this can be set in the menu.

Hello from Burley in Wharfedale!
We bought a 2020 Sportline Karoq in May, been very pleased with it, especially after we changed the 🤬 Bridgestone tyres 😄

Outside temperature dash display
Here in the balmy south mine dropped to minus 1 today so clearly that goes some way to answering my initial question.

Outside temperature dash display
Purely out of interest how low a temperature is displayed on the dash? Mine dropped to 0.5 today and I wondered it if kept going into negative figures or if it simply stopped at zero. This is probably more for drivers in the north than here in balmy London 😏

Karoq - Any models/engines/gearboxes to avoid?
And if like me you found your Significant Other didn’t comment on the ride so often, it’s all around a result 😂

All in One Policy vs Actual Practice at the garage?
Had a look at this again and realised that the standard plan doesn’t include MOTs so the cost over 24 months at £20.25 is going to be £486 which shows little saving on the normal pricing. The All-in plan does includes MOTs but also 2 years Roadside and Warranty; however I already have Roadside until April 2025 and Warranty until November 2024 so it seems there’d be no advantage in taking that either. When I was at the dealers recently and we discussed service plans I was told it’d be very worthwhile, although I can’t see that either plan shows any real benefit. Have asked the dealers what figures they used or if it’s possible to perhaps ‘tweak’ the standard plan to include MOTs but yet to get a response Update - given the special offer prices were only on offer until tomorrow I contacted the dealer to see if they’d given any thought to my emails since what they’d previously discussed, albeit briefly, conflicted with the Skoda email I’d received. I again asked if she’d got some other plan in mind that wasn’t readily available, perhaps she was ‘tweaking’ their standard plans to suit? She started up by telling me about the options available so I again reminded her that I’d already got warranty and roadside cover so that discounted one plan and there were no MOTs offered by the other, so no benefit in taking that. These facts had already been emailed to her twice! She then asked if I had a service plan already 🙄 And these are supposedly service advisors 😂 Don’t you just love’em. Needless to say no service plan has been arranged, I’ll wait and see what’s offered in the future when existing roadside and/or warranty run out

Space saver kit
I’ve acquired a space saver from a member on here but need to get myself a wheel brace, jack etc. Rather than the ‘cross-shaped’ brace I’d prefer getting a single bar that might also allow me to attach the locking wheel nut, if such a bar exists; I believe the wheel nuts on my 19in Vega rims are 17mm. If anyone’s been in the same boat, needing brace and jack I’d welcome a heads-up on what you bought. Skoda I believe do a complete kit but am reluctant to shell out £80+ for it if there’s a cheaper option.

Karoq - Any models/engines/gearboxes to avoid?
We’ve had a 2020 plate Sportline 1.5dsg auto petrol since May which replaced a much loved Freelander. It came with 19in rims fitted with Bridgestones as standard which quite frankly were literally a pita, such an uncomfortable ride, picking up every bump and pothole. Worse still Significant Other was constantly on the lookout for any such issues which took the fun out of even the shortest journey. Members on here suggested swapping the wheels out for something smaller but against that advice I kept the 19in rims and fitted Michelin CrossClimates (which I had on the Freelander and a Subaru Forester before that) and they’ve proved an absolute godsend, chalk and cheese compared to the Bridgestones. SO now enjoying the ride so double whammy😄 Apart from the issue with the tyres the car had to go back in for a software update which affected the satnav and kept throwing a ‘seek workshop’ message up but other than that it’s been a nice car to own. I have a few mobility issues which was why we went with the Karoq being that bit easier to get in/out of. We then chose the Sportline as it has the panoramic roof.

Tyre pressure warning pinged up!
I fitted 4 of these (albeit 19in) in June to replace the 🤬 Bridgestones. Paid £680 via Camskill delivered to a local independent tyre fitters I found a few years ago. At the time there was a Michelin cashback offer of £60 which pretty much covered the fitting, balancing etc. Loving the tyres and had them on my previous Freelander and Subaru Forester

Kamiq or Karoq
We bought a 2020 plate 1.5dsg Sportline Karoq in May to replace a Freelander. Different beast to the Freelander altogether but have found it to be a very agreeable ride although I would add that we had to fit Michelin CrossClimates to the oem 19in rims as the Bridgestones were probably the most uncomfortable tyres I’ve ever had, felt every bump or hole in the road, nightmare. Have found the dsg gearbox to be very smooth and pushes the car along at a decent pace. Small software issue affected the infotainment system just after we bought it but dealer soon sorted it out. Apart from that, nothing untoward to report

Space saver
Having recently spent nearly three hours waiting for Skoda Roadside aka AA to get out to deal with a flat n/s I’ve given thought to getting a space saver. Does the appropriate sized wheel simply drop straight into the well under the boot space? Am assuming that fitting a full-sized spares not an option

Data Protection Information

All in One Policy vs Actual Practice at the garage?
I was given a couple of years warranty when I bought the car in April so roadside wouldn’t be needed. Mind you we waited nearly three hours for them to turn out to deal with a flat tyre so I do question the worth of being with AA, not my choice. As for the extended service plan, by my reckoning two services at £255pa plus MOTs at £54.85 exceed the 24-month outlay of £20.25 so would be worthwhile. Skoda must be keen to retain customers to offer such a deal, hence my wondering I’d missed something 🤔

All in One Policy vs Actual Practice at the garage?
Just had first MOT and three year service and was offered a service plan, so with a 25% discount until the end of the month, it works out at £15pm for 24 months, or £20.25 for the extended plan. Given the extended plan service would be £255pa and there’s the annual MOT of £54.85 it seems to be a no-brainier, given these amounts would undoubtedly go up before the end of the 24 months. Or am I missing something?

Hi folks
Hi, I drove a Forester up until about 5-6 years ago (it having replaced a remapped Impreza) then switched to a Freelander which thanks to Mr Khan 🤬 had to go in April when we bought a 2020 Karoq Sportline 1.5dsg. Obviously it doesn’t have the specialist 4-wheel attributes of either but despite that we’ve found it to be a very good car. If you need it for off-road work, I’m not sure it’d be the best option. Had a few initial issues with the 19in wheels fitted with oem Bridgestones which were very unforgiving, you’d feel very single bump or hole in the road. Changed to Michelin CrossClimates, problem sorted. My understanding is that the Karoq was supposedly the replacement for the Yeti and there’s some on here will says it not as good, others the contrary.

So I went and bought a Jaaaag
Never really bothered with TG since Clarkson, May and Hammond stood aside. There’s been no one since that matched their enthusiasm and sheer fun

Virtual Cockpit 2023
Can only think this is because mines on a 20 plate since when I switch on my ignition I see a speedo and rev counter alongside each other immediately in front of me. Perhaps I’m still misunderstanding something, so perhaps best leave further comments in this thread.
