  1. I've relented and bought a 'generic' set that according to the seller, should fit VRS seats well albeit not a tailored fit. Time will tell.
  2. Yes, I've searched and read many, many threads but there doesn't seem to be an simple / consistent answer. My ask is simple - I want waterproof covers for front seats that are tailored (not generic) to protect the seat when getting in wet / muddy from MTB'ing. I have searched here, Google, used a bit of AI, contacted multiple eBay sellers but have yet to find tailored covers - I know that a generic / baggy cover will do the same job but would be nice to have the option to leave them on and the car still look like a VRS ! Any suggestions gratefully received.
  3. Quick update - been back to the dealer twice with restarts, disconnects and blank screen. All SW has been updated and diagnostics ran (twice) but nothing appearing as a fault. 2 days before warranty expired, issues still happening so dealer has raised a fault with Skoda UK and will continue to investigate under warranty. Car goes in on Thursday for a few days (!?) with the comment that if they can't find & rectify the fault, it will be a new Infotainment unit fitted. Hope they keep to their word.
  4. I had a removable Westfalia fitted primarily for bike rack. Doesn't affect the sensors but obviously they don't function as expected when bike rack is on. Required a small cut in bumper but TBH, you can't see it unless you are looking for it.
  5. I have HUD on mk4 and love it as I don't need to move my vision to check speed & other attributes. SatNav (Waze on Android) does show directions (which is useful) but is quite often wrong (not so useful) - it will show a turn & distance but often gets left/right wrong.
  6. Unlikely to be retro-fit but I can say that the Canton is a massive disappointment after having B&O in my previous Audis. HUD is surprisingly useful but not necessarily for navigation as quite often, Android Auto / Waze has the correct directions but these don't get shown in HUD - roundabouts are a guess if using HUD only !
  7. Quick search; With the rear seats up and measuring up to the ceiling, the boot capacity is approximately 804 litres (https://how-many-bags-fit.com/car-make/skoda/skoda-octavia-combi-1-5-tsi-boot-space-dimensions-luggage-capacity/?form=MG0AV3)
  8. I'm now convinced that my issue is down to 'mixing' screenwash as I've been using the same one since I got the car but needed to top up during a drive so bought a small bottle of something different. So, now need to remove & clean filter - anyone got any guides on how to do this other than remove front/nearside wheel, remove bottom trim, remove back trim, remove bottle & clean.
  9. If your car had towbar prep at the factory, it should have (1) different battery / alternator, (2) pre-wiring and (3) towbar ready valance. However, mine has towbar prep but did NOT have the correct valance - dealer was happy to source one for me (at a price) but in the end, I went with a 3rd party who cut the valance (with my permission). Unless you are lying down behind the car, you can't see the cutout.
  10. Many manufactures rebrand Thule - I managed to pick up (from flea-bay) a new 'Volvo' bike carrier that looks suspiciously like the Thule Proride for about half the price. Little bit of black gaffer tape and Volvo logo has vanished !
  11. Roof bars - having had estate cars with roof bars for 30+ years, my opinion is that you can have cheap or good. After many years of cheap, I invested in Thule Wingbar Evo and IMHO, they are brilliantly designed & made. They are quiet, very functional (T-track) and very secure - as they have separate kits for feet, connecters & bars, you can re-use if/when you change vehicle. They are not cheap but I'm happy leaving on the car pretty much all the time as they have minimal impact on fuel efficiency.
  12. I have mine set to dip at long distance and rarely get flashed. In fact, the most times I get flashed is when the berk driving towards me has a faulty headlight and my car assumes that it's a motorbike or not a car. Not bothered about that but I quite often turn it off on country lanes as they have no time to react before dazzling the other driver.
  13. Possibly but both fronts stopped at the same time suggesting it's not the jets. Will have a look tomorrow anyway.
  14. There is another post that may be of interest. My front washer stopped but motor running, rear very weak with little water flow.
  15. I have noticed exactly the same thing and now press Park before STOP. No idea if it makes a difference but does sound better.
  16. Sort of - left 3 tablets in for 30 mins then tried. Rear working much better but nothing from the fronts - I suspect whatever gunk is there is no in the water pipes. Next will be draining the bottle and trying to dislodge whatever is there with a hose / warm water.
  17. I'm trying the fizzy Milton tablets at the min - will give it a bit more time then go and try it.
  18. Weirdly this happened to me yesterday !! Weak then nothing front jets, weak rear jet. Any suggestions on what 'stuff' I should search for ? Anything I've found assumes that you are cleaning rather than unblocking or conflicting use this / don't use this.
  19. I thought / hoped you had cracked but but unfortunately not. Messages were 'Pay to Park can be installed..." & "Installation of manual has been completed". If I do Settings / System / Check for Updates, it shows as nothing available. Frustrating...
  20. Hopefully I'm looking in the wrong place as I don't have Online Mode as an option under Users / Settings. I want to see if 1985 fixes my infotainment unit issues before another trip to the dealer.
  21. Newer car than above but still not offered OTA upgrade. Just to check, has anyone who did the manual 1969 upgrade been offered 1985 as OTA ?
  22. I have a 42GW with rear camera hard wired in (power consumption & clean look). To echo what has been said, the cameras are extremely fussy about what MicroSD card you use - I have a Samsung EVO Plus (Grade 3, class 10) which is more than fast enough on paper. However, in real life I get read errors every so often and have to re-format. I would go with the NextBase branded cards as they should have no issues whatsoever. I had it fitted in Glasgow when I was getting rear parking camera fitted - used the same cable routing so was no additional effort for installer. Quality wise, pretty good and like others, have submitted several clips of bad driving but (fortunately) haven't had to rely on it for my own benefit.
  23. Not updated yet and reluctant to do it manually in case my local dealer isn't aware that it exists. As I said previously, I think I have a hardware fault with the unit rather than just just software as as well as the issue list above, the unit constantly (1-3 times per 'long' trip) simply disconnects from my phone - not sure if this is a restart as connects quickly. FYI - yesterday had the screen not on but audio playing issue. Screen came on after 6 minutes.
  24. Quick update - hadn't been driving much over the Christmas break but yesterday got the PDC error as well as screen on with no sound. After car sitting for an hour, both errors cleared and worked as expected. Time for a discussion with the dealer that I'm not looking forward to.
  25. Tried both wired & wireless - I tend to do wireless for short trips & wired for longer trips (as AA kills your battery).
