  1. Not VC but Waze does work with heads-up display...albeit badly !
  2. Hmm - never noticed that as I use a different view BUT it does look weird !
  3. Westfalia detachable fitted by PF Jones in Wigan. Standard bumper / valance as the Maxton I bought doesn't have enough clearance between it & towbar (standard is ~70mm, Maxton is ~30mm). When you say 'sports bumper' do you mean an aftermarket fitted one - if so, unlikely any towbar will fit and give ample clearance.
  4. Where can you access the list of trips as I cannot see anywhere that lists my fuel consumption either on the app (Android) or website. Ignore - just found it on the website 🙃
  5. FYI - you don't need to have the ignition switched on. You can simply switch the head unit on by itself - that way, you don't have any systems active / drawing power. But do not open the door during update as that may switch the unit off. Personally, I have found 1969 to load faster and (so far) I haven't had any issues where the media player shows a black screen and that happened to me on pretty much every drive on 1941.
  6. Just manually updated from 1941 to 1969. Reason why - 1941 still 100% stable with me with the 'media' player screen often being blank, not receiving WhatsApp messages on the screen and losing the haptic / click feedback from screen. Haven't fully tested but what I can say is the time from engine switch on to audio playing; 1941 - 21.4 seconds 1969 - 8.3 seconds Had the usual squeaky bum on phase 2 when it appeared to have hung !
  7. As above - 1 file, 2 folders using 7ZIP
  8. Product info - https://www.maxtondesign.co.uk/body-kits/skoda/skoda-octavia/skoda-octavia-mk4-rs/rear-valance-skoda-octavia-rs-mk4-2020- Bought this last year to fit to my estate but only gotten around to dealing with it. However, it's incompatible with my towbar (only 30mm from tow ball to valance, should be 70mm) so of no use to me. Package has been opened but only to 'offer' it up to the car to check - this does have the cut-out for a towbar, just that mine has too short a reach. Cost new is £174 plus £15 postage - I'm open to sensible offers. Please DM if you are interested. Admin - if selling in this manner is not permitted, please delete post
  9. Check out the clear instructions on p26
  10. Many thanks - so this (https://www.halfords.com/motoring/engine-oils-and-fluids/brake-clutch-fluid/comma-dot-4-esp-brake-fluid-1l-124432.html) would be good to use ? Is there any real difference between 'budget' and 'premium' fluids (I'm guessing not as long as they comply to the same DOT4 ESP standard).
  11. At a recent check, it was noted that brake fluid level was low and should be topped up. When I look at the manual to make sure I get the right stuff, I'm told; "The brake fluid must comply with standard VW 501 14 . This standard complies with the requirements of the FMVSS 116 DOT4 standard." Does this mean that as long as the fluid is DOT4 compliant then it can be used. Or is the VW 501 14 something different. Thanks in advance.
  12. Try making the Waze / Maps view larger (press on it) then try the re-arrange button. That usually works for me.
  13. OnePlus 10 Pro running Android 14 (NE2215_14.0.0.500(EX01)) I've also noticed that in the last few days (??), messages (WhatsApp / SMS) don't appear in Android Auto meaning I don't see these until I have finished my drive. Not great when the message is something like "don't bother driving the 2 hours to get here, too wet to play golf".
  14. All the time & it's pretty annoying. For me, it's always the media player that doesn't load whether that be Spotify or PocketCasts. You sometimes 'force' it to load by pressing the rearrange button bottom right (no idea what it's really called).
  15. I get similar issues where either the touchscreen doesn't work or the Spotify / PocketCasts screen is blank. Very annoying and no idea if there is a fix for either.
  16. Panel trim raised (but not removed) & glovebox removed as it just makes the whole thing easier.
  17. AFAIK most modern cars will set their time based on GPS signals rather than mobile phone. That way the car is able to be in the correct time zone (with correct time) without any outside connectivity.
  18. Perhaps get a picture of the VIN plate to see if the car has towbar prep done. Even if you don't plan to fit one now without the prep it cannot be done.....ever.
  19. Yes - manual update to latest version. Roundabouts are the worst - if I'm going straight across, HUD can show a turn left/right or one that looks like a U turn. As OP says, it's not even consistently wrong
  20. It's not great. I get the 'turn left' image when it should be a right turn. Roundabouts are dreadful as the HUD is pretty much always wrong.
  21. There is an AA setting that says 'continue playing media yes/no'. I think you do it from the head unit with AA connected, bring up the apps and go into settings.
  22. I don't use it all the time (probably twice this year so far) but sooo handy if you're out shopping and your wife gets back to the car first. Saves her carrying keys !
  23. Perfectly good reason! Until I subscribed to Spotify (forced into it by the kids), I loaded my music from CD / vinyl onto my [Android] phone and then used Poweramp as the front end player. Works really well and you can create playlists rather than just being able to play albums (depending on what you need/want). If your phone can take a MicroSD storage card then even better as almost unlimited storage.
  24. I don't use USB as play music from my phone. But, I'm not sure that the car will recognise multiple partitions on a USB drive as it will most likely regard it as JBOD (Just a Big Old Disk) with a single partition. I am interested why you are taking this approach rather than phone / bluetooth - is it quantity of media, quality (FLAC ?), speed, no space on phone, other? I currently have 36Gb of Spotify tracks on my phone and works quite quickly & easily.
  25. LED lamps for boot - can't find link...sorry Sill cover - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/204620895560 Bonnet logo - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/284620005684
