Without taking the car apart / adding new ports, I don't see any way of making this neat so have changed to hard-wired instead. Only took 20 mins and now satisfies my neatness fetish !

Hi all Fitted new black bonnet badge / emblem and IMHO looks 1000% better than the chrome (car is Graphite Grey). I have a front VRS badge to fit but is the style that comes with bracket fitting rather than just glue on. I've had a look but don't see an easy way to access the back of the grill to fit this - it looks like the cover (scuttle panel ?) is attached to the grill itself. Any suggestions on how to do this or do I take the easy way out and buy a stick on one ?

Having the USB to power the dashcam is great - pity it's on the wrong side 😉 How have folks routed the wiring to have neatest install with as little cable showing as possible ? I don't like the external cable routing and may opt for hard-wire as I know that will be neat.

I've had a few reboots (not as many as others here) but with no apparent consistency - driving with ACC on or off & system just restarts. Annoying.

It is weird / annoying that turns & exits from roundabouts don't work 'properly'. I still find it useful knowing that I have a turn coming up in x miles and can look at the infotainment unit when close to know which way to go. I suspect Skoda will blame Android Auto which is weird as it works on many, many other cars 😉

Still trying to get this resolved - local fitter calling round later to have a look. Question 1 - how do I know if the factory towbar preparation has been done ? Is it as simple as if towing weight appears on VIN (which it does) Question 2 - what does the towbar prep provide. Does it include wiring (5E3 055 202B + 5E3 055 204B) or is that still needed. Very confused and not getting much help from Skoda dealer / direct.

Weirdly (running same version) my AA Waze directions started showing in my HUD. No idea why and hope it continues to work 😀

Strange - not showing for me running latest AA with Coolwalk (love the spilt screen ability). I've only had the car 3 weeks (22 plate) so no idea if this has ever worked. I'll have a play later as would be a nice feature to have working.

How do you get HUD to display AA directions ? Doesn't for me and couldn't see any option to enable it.

Hi all - considering doing this to achieve ~320 BHP (or thereabouts) but wondering; what increase in insurance premiums are folks seeing. I understand that some insurers won't allow more than 25% increase so may have to move (Admiral multi-car) if you are driving normally, is the fuel ecomony better / worse and to what extent is the increase in torque really noticable recommended maps / fitters in NW England Thanks in advance

On a long trip (mainly motorway / A roads, 300 miles) and driving at speed limit (+15%), I averaged 42mpg in IV TSI VRS. Honestly, I was quite impressed by that - I get 20-23mpg for town driving which is OK I suppose.

Thanks - confusing & conflicting guidance from different sources. I think my best bet is to get the fitter to have a look and make the call based on his experience (asuming he's happy to cut the valance). I don't particularly want to have to order a part if it's not needed.

I had a really useful discussion with parts manager of Simpsons Skoda in Preston. There is a part described for a factory fit removable towbar (removable trailer hitch 5E7807521FF9R) but he couldn't confirm if this is valid for an after market fitted towbar, but makes sense that it would. However, no stock in the UK for special order (no refund if wrong) so reluctant to go ahead and order one. I've asked the dealer that I bought the car from for the relevant part numbers as they had offered to fit one for me but would have been several weeks time (and a 5 hour drive). I'll check with my local dealer if the can offer a fitting service.

Hi all - new joiner 🙂 I've had a look & a search but can't find my question answered. Collecting my new (to me) IV Estate VRS on Saturday and I will need to fit a detachable towbar for carrying bikes and towing a small, single axle trailer. I have found a local fitter but he has suggested that I will need a pre-cut panel - I've seen elsewhere reference to a 'special' rear valance (same thing ??) but I can't work out if I need this. I will be going for a detachable swan neck that in pictures I've seen, comfortably bends around the valance without appearing to have been cut. Anyone who has had a towbar fitted, please can you help. Is it a case that some manufacturers (Westfalia) don't require any other changes to be made? Thanks in advance. Maxi
