  1. Are they any options you would like the car to have? Heated windscreen, virtual dashboard, spare wheel, etc, any particular colour you do / do not wish to have?
  2. Er....Ok. Thanks for telling me about my car. Thamestrader asked about a 2.0 TSI as a "2.0L TSI Karoq is being considered as the replacement" so I told him about my 2.0 TSI Sportline. Not sure why you made comparasons with a 2WD as they are not considering that.
  3. I have a 2.0 DSG TSI 4x4 and it is utterly brilliant. Best car I have ever driven. To answer your questions: 1. I have Cross Climate 2 fitted (I'll have to check the exact size) but they give a very comfortable ride. I know others on hear complaint about the 19" alloys "completely ruining the ride" but all my passenger comment how quiet and comfortable the car is. 2. I do not have either Lane Assist or Traffic Recognition so cannot help. 3. No Tow Bar either. 4. My Internal Sat Nav no longer receives traffic updates since the change in signal last year which has affected many cars, the entire VW / Audi Group, Toyota, Fiats and others I believe. Skoda seem uninterested in fixing the problem and suggest you subscribe to their Skoda Connect Service. I now use Waze connected via the USB socket hidden in the sliding storage box in front of the gear lever which is better than the internal Sat Nav anyway. Although Waze will try and take you through an active war zone it if thinks it can save you 90 seconds.
  4. I did a run to Devon and back a 130 miles ish. Eco Mode on the way there, 'Individual' on the way back (which is set to the 'Normal' settings just with the silly noise generator switched off). There was, according to the in car display, 0.1mpg difference between to two. However, the car is a lot less pleaseant to drive in Eco. Have only used 'Individual' mode since.
  5. Hello and welcome. Your car seem is similar to mine so I should be able to help. 1. Front assist only comes on with the Red Flashing Car in emergency situations. Assuming you have it switch on it will only work if a car pulls out in front of you or you get too close to the car in front. I know you have said you have watched videos but just in case: 2. I do not use Skoda Assist (could not see the point in paying for it) so cannot help I'm afraid. 3. What features it has you can work out a few buy just checking what buttons it has. If it has a heated windscreen the middle button under the Infotainment system will have this: What else do you think it should have?
  6. Yupe, I was not clear. A Facelift model give you the option of USB or Blu Tooth, whereas the older modle it is USB connection only.
  7. I have the Canton upgrade in my Karoq, it was one of my 'must haves'. As you will read on here some do not rate it at all however you have to remember it is a £800 upgrade so a relatively minor upgrade in Hi-Fi terms. It is not a £3500 Burmester upgrade you can get on a Porsche. What you get is extra speakers, most obviously the centre speaker in the dash, replacing the storage box, a subwoofer in the boot which sits on the space saver spare wheel (so you get a spare wheel) and an amp under the front passenger. To my ears it is better than the standard system, much better than my previous Yeti. Really it depends on how you like to listen to your music, and, as with every Hi Fi, it is only as strong as it's weakness link. A low level source, e.g. poor quality mp3s will sound awful even on the finest system. It took me a few weeks of fiddling with the settings to get the set up right for my taste and now it sounds great. A nice sounding thumping bass (not overdriven and booming) and a nice wide soundstage. The amp makes it more than loud enough for my ears and I have never wanted more volume. In my Yeti I maxed it out on a few albums and still wanted a bit more 'oomfph'. If you can try and listen to one car with Canton and one without, and trust your ears.
  8. I really must try out my 'paddles' had the car since May last year, but have never used them!
  9. I have a pre facelift model and it always resets the driving mode to "normal". It's a little annoying but its now my of my start up routine, seat belt on press 'mode' button twice to select "individual" and off we go. I would agree with BTandSid that Cross Climate 2 tyres on 19" rims are excellent. The quietest and most comfortable ride I have ever had in car. Much better that my Yeti on 17" rims (also with Cross Climate 2). As others have said the Sat Nav no longer get travel updates so if you want to avoid traffic you need to plug your phone in (Pre Face lift) or connection wirelessly (Face lift) and use Waze or Google Maps. Obviously plugging your phone in means it charges as you drive so I would favour the pre Facelift model but it is splitting hairs really. Oh the other thing is pre Facelift will have a Skoda badge on the back, the newer ones will have the letters S K O D A. Obviously price, condition, mileage, colour (if you are bothered) and what options you want (upgraded speakers, heated steering wheel, heated windscreen ,digital dashboard, etc) are key. Brilliant car and highly recommended.
  10. It is all personal preference of course, but I think the 'Sport Blue' (I think it's called) is the 'best' colour: Not a fan of red cars. 'Moon White' is a complete no-no (just looks dull). Black cars look great when they are cleaned and polished, then you drive them down the road and they look dirty again. the 'Meator Grey' looks like a dull undercoat that they forgot to put a proper colour on. Silver is just 'meh'. I do like the Business Grey but 'Race Blue' is absolutely my favourite. As used car buyer I never have the option of choosing the colour its always right version and spec first, then hope it is in a colour I like. the stars aligned for me when I got my Karoq!
  11. Not a fan of the redesigned front and grill, the wheels have been changed too. Both for aerodynamics improvement I understand so they are are a little bit more fuel efficient. Inside there is less tech, I am assuming due to the onging Chip shortages, so no Canton option and I think the heated windscreen may be gone too? USB ports have been changed to USB Cs, and the hard drive has gone from the Infotainment centre too. Skoda have pretty much ruined the looks of their cars to my eyes the redesigned Superb, Octavia, Karoq and Kodiak all look a bit 'meh' to me.
  12. As much as I liked / like my 1.2 TSI Elegance ('mine' for five years until June last year and now Mrs Bin's) I replaced it with a Karoq Sportline 2.0 TSI 4x4 DSG. The Karoq is without doubt the finest car I have ever driven. I remember cursing when I had to drive Mrs Bin's former car (a Ford Fusion) "It's not as comfortable as the Yeti, not as quick, not as quiet, stereo not as good, doesn't have climate control, doesn't have heated seats, etc, etc". I find myself doing the same now when I drive the Yeti instead of the Karoq. The Yeti is a perfectly fine car but the Karoq is more comfortable, quieter, actually has acceleration, is an utter joy to drive with light precise steering, the suspension soaks up the bumps, the 4x4 means it grips the road like glue, it has a better stereo, better speakers, a bigger boot, a heated steering wheel, heated seats that don't take ten minutes to warm up. The infotainment display is bigger and the rear parking camera is something I never thought would be so useful, I tut when parking the Yeti, "no parking camera". It looks better to that the 'box on wheels' look of the Yeti. Would never go back to the Yeti through choice. Still each to their own. I plan to drive this Karoq until they stop making spare parts for it. Shame Skoda have ruined the looks of the Karoqs with the latest update.
  13. Well, I did have an Octavia 1.8 DSG which was the best car I ever had, until the curse of the 1.8 engine meant I had to get rid of it. As a result I was a bit grumpy in a Yeti for a while. Now have a Karoq Sportline 2.0 4x4 DSG, and oh my! Without doubt the nicest car I have ever driven by a mile. Luckily I own it! You can throw that around like a like...throwy around thing.
  14. Ah, I think you have the same issue as me (20 plate Sportline). My mobile connects via BluTooth for phone calls but for any other apps, Waze etc, I have to use a cable.
  15. Just to add my 'tu'pence'. I have a Sportline on the bigger 19 rims and like BTandSid put Cross Climate2 on them. Fantastic ride, everyone remarks on how quiet and smooth the ride it. If you go for a Sportline you can go for the 2.0 litre engine does cost slightly more to run but has a timing chain so no expensive cam belt to replace.
