  1. What wiring kit did you use?
  2. Has anyone got a towbar fitted to their octavia. Ive been reluctant to fit one since buying the car but i think im going to have to get it done I was initially holding out for an electric folding one but hard to find. Skoda informed this used one would not be compatible https://rrr.lt/en/used-part/szr1565-5e3803881a-skoda-octavia-mk3-5e-tow-bar-set On my volvo s40 I had years ago i fitter a witter detachable towbar and bought genuine electrics from volvo. Great job until the towbar seized and was therefore no longer detachable. Im hoping to get a detachable one again and maybe this time i can oil it or whatever it takes to stop it seizing. Any tips much appreciated In regards to electrics what's the best way to go about wiring for a towbar on a Skoda?
  3. Would this be compatible option for a 2018 octavia? https://a.aliexpress.com/_mNJnr54 Seems to be a complete kit if im not mistaken
  4. Im hoping to add a 12v power socket somewhere under the passenger seat. Ive done this before in older cars by just tapping into existing 12v socket in centre console. Im unsure that this can be done in newer cars. Anyone added 12v power in their skodas?
  5. Sorry for my lack of feedback. My tyre inflator broke and had to get a new one. My 2018 vrs is FWD and the tyres were sitting at 39 psi, maybe a tad high. Ive reduced to 2.4 bar, about 35 psi. Nobody else in the car but me and few tools in the boot They are new tyres, dealer obviously put cheap ones on, (Davanti). Never heard of them. I drove a subaru xv AWD with goodyears for a couple of years so maybe just to accustomed to the AWD, you can floor the subaru in 1st gear with no wheel spin, no resistance. You just can't do that in my octavia but its obviously just down the awd Will def be getting a set of goodyears on it for the winter
  6. Ive only had my octavia vrs a few months and already i can see my driver seat starting to wear. I caused this in a previous volvo i used to own. Think im adding stress to this part of the seat when i get ouf of the car Whats the best products/treatment to look after the seats. Think they could do with a shanpoo. Ive used the autoglym interior shampoo and headlining tool with good success previously but if anyone has better techniques let me know
  7. A towbar. Part number 5E3803881A
  8. Ive only bought my 2018 vrs octavia and have to say im dissapointed in how it handles. Coming up to a roundabout the other day in second gear, gave it plenty of gas as it was clear and the car snaked around a gentle bend to the left. Ive even noticed going round basic corners at any sort of speed feels dangerous Was convinced something must be wrong but spoken to a friend who has a Superb says his is the same Is this common across Skodas?
  9. Does anyone know how i can check if i part ive been watching on ebay will fit my octavia? Cant imagine dealership helping me out for nothing. Is there anyway to access dealer part checking myself.
  10. The k&n filter in previous cars was really just to have a lifetime filter. I actually had an induction kit in a 307 i had years ago, it definitely made it a little louder. But yeah, im not keen on wasting £300 if its not much difference, i could get a remap for that price.
  11. Ive just bought a 2018 Octavia VRS, i usually order a k&n filter but i seen there is an induction kit available. Bit expensive but is this what they cost now and will i notice much difference https://www.sparepartstore24.co.uk/18468514-kn-filters
  12. I got this completed quite easily. However, the right media unit key is stuck, ive applied a great amount amount to the side using a flathead screwdriver whilst wiggling and pulling the key with great force. I cant get the thing out. The left key effortless, simple push with my finger with releases it. Any ideas on what i can do. Is it just a case of more force involved?
  13. Must look for a aftermarket cup holder. I love the new car, but lack of space in the centre console is very annoying I was driving a subaru xv before the skoda which had permanent AWD and also very quick, the advertised mpg was 52 and i was getting 44-46. So if skoda are advertising 64mpg, you would expect mid 50s for sure Its 2018 and has 85k on the clock, should i be concerned with any servicing, particularly the timing belt kit?
  14. Just bought this car, very pleased with it, nice drive, comfortable and responsive when needed. just a few minor gripes I’m trying to sort is there bigger cu a p holders available to purchase, the size of the existing cup holders amazes me is there any repair guides for this, I want to get the climate control out to install a retrofit Brodit mount my mpg is very low, 37.2 , surely this can’t be morma
  15. Anybody know what the correct lead is I require my Octavia. Is there any subscription required to perform dealer functions ive previously used Peugeot planet and Volvo Vida. Is there any repair manuals as well, as Volvo Vida has dealer repair guides
