Fabia Spare Wheel
I'm fairly certain that the stock 15" wheel they supply acts as a spare for both 15" and 16" replacement 'on a temporary basis' as befits this type of wheel. I seem to recall that in a previous thread on this topic someone came in with a whole load of stats on the subject. The 15" wheel that I got fits nice and snug in the boot recess.

MFD (Multifunction Display) not displaying
A couple of times this has happened to me (totally blank screen) and a simple turn off the ignition and re-start has done the trick.

Using a phone
Thank you both. Sounds logical.

Using a phone
This may seem like a daft one but .... I very rarely use a mobile phone but I had occasion to today and it had me wondering. As I had the phone set up to use Google Maps through Android Auto I also need to make a call, which I did with success but I was struggling with the physical thing of .... where do I speak to? Where in the car is the 'microphone' element towards which I direct my voice? Obviously the voice on the other end comes through the car speakers but it had me feeling stupid when I didn't know what direction to speak in. There ... told you it was a daft one! 🙄

condensation on inside of windows, takes ages to clear even with aircon
Just a quick note on this topic .... are any of these glass cleaners, like Autoglym, without perfume? I always have to avoid all cleaning products, especially the motor products, with a scent as my wife has a severe allergy to (all) perfumed products. Makes life hell sometimes!

MK4?
Simply ... Mark Four .... like, the fourth version.

Clicking into this forum gives offer of translation from French to English
Strangely this just happened to me. Logged on, clicked on this forum and the Google translate option popped up in the top corner offering to translate from French. Doesn't happen on any other site.

Fabia Edition specs launched
Whatever the opinions, and each to their own, I wouldn't have keyless. At least when I got my '23 model the SE Comfort variant had normal keyed entry. If they are now doing away with that then they have certainly lost this return customer.

Fabia Edition specs launched
Well .... rather than me looking forward to changing for a new one next year it looks like I'll be out, sadly. If all models will now have keyless entry then that's it. Decision made. Surely the insurance companies would have more sway on matters like this?

First anniversary review
Just returned from my trip to visit family in Scotland. Reason for posting is simply an update on how I feel about this car in light of the fact that yesterday was its first anniversary. On the way there I clocked up 4,000 miles. 250 mile round trip from Tyne Tunnel through A19 and A1 to Edinburgh so covering all speed options through 30/50/60//70 roads. Turned in a very healthy 59 MPG using onboard trip computer. I always use this although most will say that it gives a false reading but, to me, the point is I always compare it to itself so I can judge whether there are any changes in performance. Had first official service a couple of weeks back and everything is healthy. Part way through the year I invested in a space saver wheel from The Wheel Shop (great deal) and more recently got a set of fitted mats from Official Car Mats which were a great price and perfect fit. Summing up, overall, I still absolutely love this car. The driving experience is so comfortable and the fuel economy for an automatic is super. The DSG gearbox is a total dream and that tiny 3 pot engine just rides through everything. Never feels underpowered even with a full load. My previous 1 month and 6 month reviews said just about everything and none of that has changed. Still the only complaints I have are the stupid and pointless nag screen that comes up ever time you start and the sadly disappointing infotainment system which I hardly use now except for radio and the maps through Android Auto. Great car all round and would recommend to anyone on the lookout.

How do I change my car details in my profile?
Strange! Rather than use the drop-down menu to find settings just click on your profile picture. That should bring up the page I referred to.

Thinking of coming back to a Skoda Fabia
It connects via Bluetooth but needs also to be plugged in to the USB slot. Initially I sat it in the tray below the screen but after I had the experience of losing signal I got a longer cable and lay it flat on the top edge of the screen mount. My particular phone is in a leather wallet-case so doesn't slide around. Not really sure how much data but seems to be minimal. Being not much of a phone user I have a very simple fiver a month basic plan and it has never gone over that yet.

Thinking of coming back to a Skoda Fabia
Mine is the SE Comfort model which has the most basic 'Swing' infotainment system. Apart from the fact that I think it is awful this one has no built in sat-nav. It does, however, have Android Auto facility which means I can use the Google Maps from my phone which comes up on the car screen and seems quite usable. The only issue I have had with this so far has been an instance where the signal was lost for a worrying length of time.

How do I change my car details in my profile?
On mine I go to Profile and at the top there are tabs for Account Settings and Edit Profile. Info is all there to edit.

Thinking of coming back to a Skoda Fabia
Got to admit to being completely in love with my DSG. Haven't got much tech knowledge but when I first got mine (just coming up to 1 year) I asked a couple of questions and there was a pretty comprehensive reply from another member giving all sorts of tech info about various versions of the DSG. Has anyone disabled start/stop on their mk4?
My DSG has it. Left of the gearshift above the lock button.
-
Why doesn't my non-digital speedometer show 30 mph
You should also be able to select the digital speedo to come up in your driver display alongside the analogue one.

Has anyone disabled start/stop on their mk4?
Like you I get so annoyed with stop/start. There is no way to 'disable' it, unfortunately. You need to get in the habit of starting the car, pressing the S/S button to the left of gear shift and pressing the OK on the screen to get rid of the, also annoying, display message for privacy. This is my routine now with every journey. When wife is with me that is her job.

OBD2 socket in Fabia mk4
Well ... I haven't actually looked as that would mean crouching down and aggravating my arthritis but, after reading the previous post, I did this and could FEEL the socket (or what felt like it). Put my hand on that right hand wee cupboard, slid my hand right down as far as it goes then feel underneath. There is a gap where I could feel some sort of insulation then slightly to the right what does feel like a multi-pin socket. So, in effect, that photo supplied of the socket would be taken from the point of the drivers right knee looking up across the surface of the cubby door with its handle being what you can see at the top. Try it?
