  1. :wonder: A failed window mechanism is hardly what I'd call 'falling to bits'. I have had three Skoda's so far and ain't had a problem with any of them.
  2. Same in mine - I always thought it was just because I had got used to not depressing it after driving for a long distance with the cruise on. Doubt it's anything to worry about.
  3. Haha, I know but they are better than the one I currently have! The 'sticker' if it's the same as the one I used to have is metal and it looks very good quality.
  4. I bought a black one to match the air freshener - I noticed that he's sold a few of them and wondered if anyone on here had bought one.
  5. The seller has got vRS tax disc holders too - I've actually been looking for one of these for a while. Now... shall I buy a Briskoda sticker as well?!
  6. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Skoda-Octavia-Fabia-VRS-Poppy-Coral-Air-Freshener-B14-/230496120722?cmd=ViewItem&pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item35aaa3af92 Just bought one of these for the beast - I had one ages ago and it was awesome but I forgot to remove it when I sold my old vRS. At £13 (including p&p) they're a little pricey but they break up the black interior trim a little bit. The guy selling them has them in silver too - just in case anyone's interested.
  7. Sorry to sound like a noob guys but is the EGR the thing with the gasket in it which was narrower in the BLT engine causing the infamous stutter? I sometimes get a bit of hesitation when I put my foot down at around 1800RPM - it really is the only thing I dislike about my car.
  8. Looks lowered in the first pic too buddy, or is it the angle it's been taken from? Nice car anyway.
  9. What he's saying is that he'd rather buy a standard car and then if he decided to modify it he would either do it himself or would ensure the work was done properly and to a high standard. Personally, I wouldn't buy a modded either car unless I knew it's history or could speak to it's owner. Cosmetic, suspension and handling mods alone maybe theres not so much scope for abuse, but any power mods would be a definite no for me unless I knew the owner as I'd be concerned that it had been driven hard in the past.
  10. Yeppers, no special edition anthracite wheels, they will have been sprayed. Good luck viewing the car mate, I'm sure it will look nice with those wheels.
  11. Hi mate, ain't got any interior shots handy at the moment, I'll try and take a few later for you.
  12. Always happy to whore a few pics of the beast... Enjoy. Mike
  13. I don't slide anywhere on the leather seats in mine. I say go for it, the SE is awesome! I much prefer the leather to the cloth seats, apart from the fact that they stay clean, they look smart - the only slight problem being is it the leather has a tendency to go a bit shiny and you need to 'feed' the leather regularly with Autoglym to counter-act this.
  14. Hello and welcome. If the interior is light grey I'm afraid you're pretty much stuck with it. You could possibly replace the seats and dash with one from a scrapyard but I'm guessing you'll need a lot of time, patience and technical knowledge. In terms of speakers, to gain access to them you'll need to remove the door card - do a search on how to do this.
  15. A fuse blowing on the wipers is a common problem, likely caused by the wiper sticking to the screen during the really cold weather at the start of the year. However, if your front wipers still work I'm not sure this will be the problem, the motor might have gone. It's worth replacing fuse 15 in the fuse box just to check though - the fuses are standard mini blade ones, you'll need a 10amp for fuse 15. Also, sounds like the cold weather might have knackered your horn too (ooh err!). Dealer will most likely clean up the contacts on the steering wheel and replace the horn unit.
  16. If I read that right, try not to move off in 3rd too much either - you'll munch the clutch in no time.
  17. The fuel guage in the Fabia is a total pain in the derriere to be honest - when I fill mine up the needle stays firmly at the 'full mark' for a good 100-150 miles or so then it starts to drop swiftly. At 250-300 odd miles it's showing half full and then it drops at an alarming rate over the next 100-150 miles when the warning light comes on at around the 400-450 mark.
