Kamiq reverse lights
It's always odd to me when I hear complaints about insufficient lighting. With type approvals becoming more stringent decade upon decade you'd think all would be well. My first car never had reversing lights 😜 they were a common DIY upgrade back then from your local car mart like Les Smiths etc before there was a Halfords in every town. But even now on my California which has H7 bulbs (and I find them perfectly adequate but not the most desirable from an aesthetic approach as LED's) people still berate their performance. I guess we all have different expectations and abilities that influence opinion. Looking forward to picking up our Kamiq on Tuesday, it's the 1st car I will have owned with LED headlights.

I think the height adjustable passenger seat is on the options list these days for most models. I tried to get it on my SE Drive but it wasn't an option then reading deeper it appears to be standard on the SE Drive so fingers crossed.

Tyre Pressures provided are wrong
Worth trying Skoda customer services for more detail explaining the concerns? I'd never have questioned the fuel flap detail at those figures.

Title says it all. I am guilty of Man Looking quite often but I have had 2 emails from admin so far suggesting I could use the button to assist everyone but I can't see it. Thanks

Delivery/lead times
Hmmm no idea really but I'd guess they still maybe cancelled orders somehow. Ours was a cancelled motorbility ordered and as you point but had a couple of additions but I'm sure there will be standard spec cars right across the sectors of private, leasing and company cars that get cancelled. Another guess would be perhaps that it makes sense to 'do a run of xx amount' . No idea though what the triggers could be. Colour maybe? Hypothetically 93 blue Kamiqs ordered paint booth run will do 100 so build 93 to order and 7 standard spec cars. Change batch go again.

Sat Nav Going Walk About
To me this sounds like sone kind of interference, so I'm wondering if its the location you happen to be in at the time rather than related to the Kamiq? My VW (still waiting for my Kamiq to arrive) has drop outs sometimes where the DAB radio transmission stops, Phone signal goes but as these locations are are all local to me I have no idea whether they affect the Sat Nav too. Have you been able to rule that out?

I was just confused by the post that said it holds a lower gear downhill as I know my VW does this but typically I do coast once over the brow of the hill and dabbing the brakes as necessary leaves me in coasting mode most of the time when the brake is released (or maybe just the same gear). After reading Marineboys post I thought maybe the gearing down meant there was no coasting function.

Does it have 'coasting mode' ?

Car Park Fires, Transporters / Ships, any fires, any EV,s involved or not thread, were they the cause just there and so made fighting the fire harder.
Ha ha ! I have mixed feelings on that, I found RR recalls pretty solid.....but then they have had enough practise at it unfortunately.

Especially pleased to hear this bit. I have a VW with DSG and it's great but some reports for the 1.0L & DSG haven't been very favourable. The one I test drove was perfectly OK.

I have seen YouTube videos saying it's low.....but low for an SUV bracket car. So it's perception I guess. If it was considered a hatchback I doubt that association would apply. Apparently the car sits 40mm higher than (ummmm...can't remember but some other cars either in its class or perhaps higher than the Fabia...wish I had a memory)

Ours hasn't arrived yet but shouldn't be too long now. In the mean time I've been inspired to browsing the forum but it doesn't change that often 🙃. So I wondered what everyone enjoys most about theirs. Perhaps its The fuel economy? The Panoramic glass roof? The comfort? The simply clever bits? The Colour? The Sat Nav? The digital Cockpit? or the standard dials for that matter. The Reliability? The size?

Just out of interest. I did a little research once into EV's that didn't gather much steam as my retirement was pending. But it came about as there was concern about the safety of EV's in certain environments. In my case the oil & gas industry. The concern was gathering pace due to reported thermal runaway in the battery technology, High voltage circuitry and runaway vehicles. Various stories were emerging but had more speculation than fact regarding causes and likelihood of occurance. However, it did unveil that in the event of an emergency the site would have some unique challenges ahead that hadn't been thought about when granting access to such vehicles. In the light of concern vs actual facts the stance was taken to not grant anymore vehicle passes until the current risk was understood. As in, how many EV's were already onsite on a daily basis and what areas were they travelling in. How could power be isolated if a car became faulty, how would emergency services be able to remove them if they lost power or were severely damaged in an RTI etc because of reports in the automotive industry about electric shock. And so it goes on..... Funny how a change in technology happens and then the world plays catch up. Phase 2 of the stance was to see which of those vehicles needed to be on site and whether total or partial restrictions were suitable. If this Luton airport fire is nothing to do with the EV's (which looks likely) then great but if it is I can see a heightened level of resistance once people start to investigate prevention and mitigation. Incidentally for the record, I'd love to have a Kia Niro EV someday soon.

Delivery/lead times
I don't have too much detail as I took a cancelled order that the dealership I bought from which kept its build slot knowing they would sell the car (Kamiq SE Drive 110 DSG). So I don't know when that order was originally placed but build week October 9th (Yesterday ) However because we wanted to explore the specs we enquired while we were there about how long new orders were taking and as of 2 weeks ago we were told 28 weeks. Whether or not that includes the build and shipping process, PDI etc I don't know. I was told to expect ours about 5 weeks from the 9th Oct. So is it 28 weeks to build slot or 23 weeks to build slot + 5 to pick up I wonder.

Kamiq tyres
There is no doubt the rubber compounds and tread patterns will bias a tyres effectiveness in summer and winter conditions. As will your driving style, speed and location. So perhaps a summer tyre will get you through a mild town and city winter especially if you are driving appropriately. On the other hand if you want to throttle it a bit on untreated roads in rural highlands you might have a nasty shock. But yeah, there is some market hype and all weathers and smart driving will usually see most through.

Kamiq tyres
I have a VW California as my main vehicle and waiting for the Kamiq to arrive but on the VW 18" wheels I'm on my 2nd set of Michelin cross climate 2's. Awesome! Great all rounders.

LED lighting
Hi, What is the difference? I looked at the video in the original link and I know what Avec & Sans mean but I really couldn't see a difference. Having read the thread I'm guessing they are simply brighter albeit a bit more orange in colour?
