  1. Congratulations Lady E Maybe but a higher class of random nonsense & drivel than the norm.
  2. I might get a bowl of chips if you need some moral support :P
  3. :bump: It's still on and I'm still going. (but don't let that put you off )
  4. Hmm. Mediocre at best, and probably forgotten within 6 months time. Definitely not one of the big, memorable 'blockbuster' themes Bond used to get :(
  5. Personally I couldn't agree less with that comment and I should imagine many people wouldn't agree with goods increasing in price so they could 'potentially' save 5-10 minutes on their commute everyday. How much longer would you then have to work everyday to recover the extra money needed for the rise in prices? If you're being held up by slow lorries then leave earlier to counteract it or take it on the chin that you are going get home a bit later than you'd like. I've been watching this thread with interest and I could see the appeal of the no overtaking ban. After spending nearly all my summer holidays sat up in my Dad's cab driving all over the UK I'm firmly in the truckers' camp on this. If you think you get annoyed getting stuck behind a truck for a couple of minutes then you should really try getting 19/20ths past a slower truck only for them to pick up speed, edge back past you at a geological pace leaving you high and dry for the next 3-4 minutes knowing full well at the next hill it's all going to happen again. And then repeat that senario multiple times in the knowledge that you've got to do it in a tight time frame or you're going to be stuck miles from home otherwise the "spy-in-the-cab" will provide irrefutable evidence at your court apperance. Not to mention some of the moves Grade A c*ck car drivers pull. My Dad's a calm man but I learnt some choice words and phrases sat in that cab that I was sworn never to repeat in front of my Mum
  6. I'm going on my first work jolly for 6 years Our wedding plans are slowly coming together (despite and because of interfering parents) It's my Name's Day on Sunday so I'm expecting some nice presents for this thread Lady E, we need some out-and-out cheeriness
  7. Phew! Simple generalisation to the rescue Don't worry Gerry, even sat opposite the entrance, yours looks faster than mine
  8. Thanks to the Marlin guys and also to Fezboy for organising the day even though he did disappear halfway through After seeing the likes of Gerry and Des' results on the monitors mine looked extremely weedy and boring. (I was a bit embarrased to tell the truth ) Still, I'm pleased with 133.5bhp and 243.8lb/ft on a standard car, a bit more of both than it should have and a lot, lot less smoke then I expected
  9. Yes. HTH They're both exceptional drivers who like to push their luck if they can get away with it to bag a few more points, although Plato seems to have mellowed a bit lately.
  10. He's no saint and he's usually one of the first to admit to it (when it suits him obviously ). It's just he doesn't seem to have very similar 'incidents' at nearly every race meeting like someone else.
  11.  @ 00:36 Ninja cat is in ur gardens, drop kikin ur toddlerz!
  12. Which makes it even more surprising they're just packing up and going home. This season has been a bit of a nightmare for them but they finally seem to making headway (not discounting Darren's bad luck ). It seems a waste of effort to bring the TDi Leon in, battle all season trying to get it to run reliably, finally get it set up so they're challenging and winning races and then at the end of the season just give it all up. Surely it'd make sense to find a bit more money to run the next full season to prove their point of diesel being a viable racing fuel and possibly even beat Fabrizio "Whoops, I've accidently nudged someone off the track again" Giovanardi. I like the idea floating around on BTCC.net at the moment that Plato should get some sponsorship, use the now 'jobless' SEAT pit crew, buy his car off SEAT and enter as an Indy.
  13. Alan Gow's always saying he's in talks with other manufacturers interested in entering so lets hope some of these talks pay off. You never know, Team KIA UK and Team Lada may be on the starting grid next season
  14. Damn! I'm gutted after hearing this news :( The main questions are who's going to challenge V@uxh@ll for the Manufacturer's Championship next season and where are Plato and Turner going to go?
  15. 'king hell, I don't think you could do a ****ter job of spelling even if you tried reely, reely, reely hard
  16. I got a letter through from my local dealer yesterday saying due to something or other they've got 20 Level 1 Fabias for sale at only £5995 (~£3k saving). Might be something to do with what you're saying. (Hello and welcome by the way )
  17. Is it only me that finds this photo makes them nervous.....
  18. That's the green Clarkson "repainted" his Alfa 75 with. I'm not surprised I haven't seen many / any Fabias driving around in that particular shade :thumbdwn:
