  1. I’ve just updated my car to 1989 via usb. I haven’t factory reset yet. Seems fine at the moment although I will reset when I get time. My details are: Octavia Mk4 1.5TSI Estate Manual - SE First Edition Infotainment Hardware: H56 Display Unit/Control Panel Hardware: H44 Display Unit/Control Panel Software: 2088
  2. Just updated my first edition Octavia to 1985 no issues. First time I’ve done it with the engine running again absolutely fine:)
  3. Yeah so that’s what I was looking at but these sort of things can be hit and miss. Was wondering if anybody had success specifically with a product they’ve used. Thanks
  4. Hi guys Annoyingly noticed this morning there are a couple of scratches on the chrome door surround - drivers side - above the window that meets my eye every time. Any suggestions what to use to try and remove this ? Im just going to see it now every time I get to the car lol. Thanks
  5. Good shout probably. I’ve done this with previous updates but not with 1969. Thanks.
  6. It might be a massive coincidence but I’ve noticed on my first edition that after the last update to 1969 via usb, my auto lights don’t work. They’re basically permanently on now! Has anyone else noticed the same thing?
  7. When I get in the car and it says welcome I press on the button underneath and it doesn’t respond for a couple of seconds. None of this happened with 1941. Swiping screens is noticeably slower too. Maybe I’ll reset again for the second time!
  8. I did a reset the following day but still super laggy
  9. Yeah strange for me 1969 is much laggier and slower
  10. Is it me or does 1961 lag a lot more than 1941? On first edition 1941 was blazing fast. It’s much laggier with 1961.
  11. I’ve just updated from 1941 to 1961 on a first edition. Seemed to go through smoothly. As other users have said it skips a few bits the 1961 update. But all seems fine.
  12. So regarding the built in maps, mine says 24.2. Is that the latest? Thanks!
  13. Ok so I think … fixed. I was using the MyŠkoda essentials app which wouldn’t remember my car for more than a few minutes (on iPhone). Just tried out the MyŠkoda app which appears to have remembered the car even after reboots of my phone. So seems all good, so happy with that, fingers crossed! Just got to find a floor matt fixing now as the previous owner has removed one of them for the drivers matt.
  14. So basically Škoda support totally useless. They’ve said the VIN isn’t enrolled on the MySkoda account. Basically computer says no. I’ve explained I can log in and add the VIN but everytime after a few minutes the car disappears out of the portal - web or app version. I explained I’m still logged into the MyŠkoda account in the car and the store loads. But I can’t buy anything as it redirects me back to the web portal, which is the bit that forgets my car. Even if their tech support can’t work out what’s wrong from a server side issue I don’t see why they can’t add the VIN manually to the account . But they seem to have absolutely no idea what to do. Quite infuriating!
  15. Yep 😞. Skoda have already come back to me. They have said not my VIN is not registered against my MySkoda account, even though I can log in, add my VIN and find my car on the app or web version. It just forgets it very quickly. Has to be a server side glitch.
  16. Hi. Yep so it’s registered fine in the car. It’s just the mobile app keeps forgetting the car. I have to re add the car in the app permanently. But the car is fine. I’m registered as the primary user. I’ve chalked it up as another Škoda glitch 😞
  17. I’ve emailed Škoda hopefully they can sort at their end. Not very impressive!
  18. So just created a new Škoda profile in the app and deleted original primary user on the car and switched to new user. Rebooted phone (iPhone) and the car has been immediately forgotten again in the app on my phone 🤦‍♂️
  19. In fact if I clear the app from my memory and reload the app, it forgets the car every single time - or on reboot. Total junk.
  20. Thanks for this. So with the 1941 update it’s the first time Škoda connect will work on my Octavia estate 1.5 se l first edition. However is. Noticed the mobile app forgets my car every day and I have to re add the vin number. Is this unusual or is the app just a load of rubbish?
  21. So updating to 1941 I had an update notification and it said it was as downloading and would install when not in use. I haven’t seen any update notification since and software is still the same no. Should the software no actually change? Thanks
  22. Great post. I’ve taken out an extended warrant on my 2020 Octavia. I’ve noticed the warranty covers electronics but not software updates. But… these updates can end up being safety updates as well, such as lights or even to the electronic parking brake. Seems very dubious when a car essentially is controlled by a computer that a warranty then doesn’t cover updates to that computer.
  23. Good information thank you! Fingers crossed with future ota updates. Noticed the infotainment system is much snappier post update as well. Had a quick browse through the Škoda store which never worked before. Are they really charging £170 for a software update for automatic main beam when the hardware clearly already supports it. Unbelievable:(
  24. Thanks. Just had the first ota update after updating via usb to the latest. The dealer said the updates were up to date lol. It was stuck on 1806/1804 I think and it was impossible to create a primary user and activate the app built into the car. Kept saying app can’t load or just wouldn’t work. Now with the app update built into the new update, I can now log into my Škoda for the first time, the eSIM now works and ota updates. So basically 1806/4 (whatever it was) was a broken update in terms of the Octavia se l first edition. Now seems to be working perfectly. Rubbish Škoda quality control but very happy customer now!
  25. All went through ok with Octavia se l first edition, no issues, although doesn’t look like I have any further updates like others have mentioned. At least much newer now!
