Just looking for some guidance. I’m getting this on my dash, and it only seems to pop up after I’ve been driving the car for a while Looking to see what the suspect could be because when I look I’ve seen it either could be a bulb, the sensor on the arm, or a module … I’m leaning more towards the sensor on the arm. Xenons work fine. And it does its little dance in the morning. The sensor however looks very worn and very loose … Anyone who’s had the same problem let me know how you fixed it

Hi guys so what a week?! Monday my car threw a wobbler I’ve only had it a year Started off with a strange fuel leak on the rail, then randomly at the same time my tension pulley for the timing belt snapped … luckily there is no damage to my engine after slipping two teeth.. has any body else has issues with the gates products ? The garage that installed the cam belt in the first place swear down they have never seen this yet the Audi specialist who did the belt said he’s seen this quite a lot with gates? … I need some answers

RAC said to me that the fuel had leaked from the fuel rail. He took the connector off, cleaned it and popped it back on. Seemed to have stopped the leak Oil was checked and it has about half on the dip stick. He stopped the leak but no one can seem to figure out why the engine sounds like it’s running badly

Hi guys, I’ve owned my Octavia VRS a year today. It has done 146,000 (I have done 10k) since owning it … and today it has really screwed me over Causally driving down the M60 and all of a sudden I smell diesel … I didn’t think much off it as I thought it was the lorry in front of me. Untill I started to hear a noticeable rattling noise on low Revs … I get off the motorway and the car started to sound quite bad. Loss of power and a very noisy diesel engine .. RAC called out and managed to fix the fuel leak but it is still rattling like crazy. I have took it into a garage this morning… I have no idea what’s wrong not sure if the lack of fuel in the cylinder has caused some problem but the engine noise sounds prettt serious… I just want to rant. And this sounds like it’s gunna hurt my pockets

Hi mate I actually changed the ballast, I’m pretty alright with abit of DIY on my car (I did own a Ford before) so I have a garage full of tools lmao! But the ballast did the trick for me there’s two on the headlamp one for the DRL and one for the main lamp… I didn’t wanna pay £100 for a bulb so it was cheaper to try the ballast first it worked for me and has been working great for a few months now and you only need to unhook the bumper on one side it will give you enough room to remove the lamp. Rather than unscrewing both sides from the arches witch is a pain it’s easy to just do one

Hi mate if the strip is still working then it’s gotta be the ballast controller. Which one did you swap? There are two the one you wanna change is on the bottom also in this post use the same part number. I would only recommend this one.. if you send the old one back and try this it’s gotta be that. Thanks … I have found the location of the 2nd ballast for the headlights (how I didn’t see this when I took the near side light out I don’t know) but man those bulbs are not cheap I might go for the ballast first it seems to be a cheaper option yeah I’ll check YouTube if I need to replace the bulbs. It helped me last time when I took the bumper off

Hi guys, starting to come up to the first year with my Octavia VRS estate 2015. It’s been great so far with no issues other than the DRL ballast needed replacing Now, I’ve got a more annoying problem, my drivers side Xenon starting flickering for no reason a few weeks ago. I managed to solve it just by switching off the lights off and back on again. But the problem is still there. After 20 or so mins of driving I’m repeating this or it is usually random … now I fear my left side is doing the same (I cannot confirm) perhaps it just looks like that so what’s to replace here? The light or the ballast. Or do I need to look elsewhere!? I hate electrics nothing to simple anymore with new cars . Is the ballast for the headlamps the same unit that controls the DRL ?

Hey guys, I’ll update you I bought a new module off eBay… and alas it worked. Does look like it got some water inside … and it was the left. Didn’t need to fully take off the bumper, just get it away just enough to move the light out. £50 all in all.. better than going to a garage

Well I’m gunna go ahead and change the near side (rhd car) module it appears my drls are working fine but something just seems to be cutting them off at random times if it was on the right I would have had a crack probably a garage job because I don’t have the patience to remove the bumper lol 😂 also it can wait till winter I’m gunna ignore and keep my lights in the off position

When you say RH do you mean offside or near side ? Are you sitting in the the car or looking at the car 😂 sorry

Sorry but I am bringing up this thread🙈. I am having the error code (check daytime running light) after my car has been off for a while. however when I turn the car off and on again the code disappears . And the lights seems to be working … unfortunately it’s the LHS I haven’t actually seen the lights not working yet, I’ve turned off daytime running lights for now in the car … but they obviously come on with the lights . I am hoping it’s the module … I am feeling like this is a dealer job . I don’t have the patience to remove the bumper haha

I have recently acquired a 2015 VRS Octavia after coming away from a 20 year old MK3 Mondeo ST im slowly getting used to the car but when im on the motorway i can describe what feels like a slight JOLT just before I come of the acceleration. Car drives perfect when I’m putting my foot down etc . It’s just noticeable at slow speeds in 5-6 gear, where I’m lightly pressing the gas (maybe it’s my driving style) but I am hearing a sucking noise around the turbo inlet area, I took the pipe off over the weekend to see if I can find any splits , put it back on and give it a good tighten with no joy (maybe it’s just the sound of air running through the turbo and pipes) also no codes coming up so I don’t know if this is a normal thing or not

Thanks I’ll give it a try, I was told the brakes are Newley fitted when I bought the car, but there don’t seem to be much grease there

I’ve just bought a 2015 vrs and noticed a clunk after reversing … then braking going foward. Definitely coming from the front.. I guess this is normal 😂

Hi, I suspect a vaccume leak on my turbo/inlet pipe.. I can hear it sucking and come to think of it, there is a slight lag/judder at low acceleration I’ve got 3 months warranty so I’ll be taking this back, I’m just wondering if anyone else has had the same issue? Maybe I can pin point where the break is in the pipe to confirm where it is leaking Skoda VRS 2015 TD

It’s done 132,000 but looking at the MOT history it has never failed and looks to me like it’s mostly motorway mileage (I hope)

Thanks mate, I’ll check it out, I used to do alot of my own work on the fords but I feel like I haven’t got a clue with this new car .. but I had to change eventually my Mondeo was on 230k and developed enough problems to a point I gave up.. engine would probably outlast the car haha. I haven’t drove the Skoda properly only a test drive and it has 3 months warranty… water pump, brakes & cam belt done by the garage who sold it to me.. it does seem a little Smokey and stinky when I idle it on my drive .. but it’s not thick smoke.. but it is cold and it’s probably not been driven for a couple of weeks but if it does not improve I’m going to contact the RAC and get it checked properly after a good week of driving
