Can someone tell me if this is normal?

Recommended Posts

I have recently acquired a 2015 VRS Octavia after coming away from a 20 year old MK3 Mondeo ST

im slowly getting used to the car but when im on the motorway i can describe what feels like a slight JOLT just before I come of the acceleration. Car drives perfect when I’m putting my foot down etc . It’s just noticeable at slow speeds in 5-6 gear, where I’m lightly pressing the gas (maybe it’s my driving style)

but I am hearing a sucking noise around the turbo inlet area, I took the pipe off over the weekend to see if I can find any splits , put it back on and give it a good tighten with no joy (maybe it’s just the sound of air running through the turbo and pipes)

also no codes coming up so I don’t know if this is a normal thing or not

Has it been mapped and done it have a stock inlet system (inc. air filter)?  Sounds like it's been tinkered with.

As for the jolt, maybe it's the dogbone mount that needs a new bushing.  Official name is pendulum mount I think.  It links the bottom of the gearbox to the chassis to transfer the torque to the car rather than rotating the engine and gearbox on the mounts.  Or it could be engine mounts.  None of these things last forever.
