My first car was..
My first was a blue Fiat Mirafiori 1300 four-door saloon; https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fiat_131 I was the final owner of this Italian workhorse vehicle - the gearbox failed one day and off it went to the great car-park in the sky!

Welcome to the club! Here on Planet Scala, we say forget all that nonsense about engine power, MPG, trim levels and so on - all that matters is whether the car came with an umbrella in the door. If not, you can easily get brollied up via the usual online outlets. But do make sure the one you are buying has a Skoda logo on the end of the handle. I got caught out on that and I still feel slightly diminished by its absence. Stay dry!- Fixing door seal
And here...is what it should look like - but we don't see it under normal circumstances. The rubber has been cut away for illustrative purposes. This image is courtesy of Ridex https://www.autodoc.co.uk/ridex/18351085?utm_medium=cpc&utm_source=google&tb_prm=20315908947&gshp=1&gad_source=1&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIw_ebqv3bhgMVTg8GAB3m7wDCEAQYFCABEgKr9vD_BwE I find this sort of thing fascinating. It should be taught as part of the national curriculum. There are so many things we take for granted - we go through life oblivious to all the trial and error that has taken place, often at great expense and even at the cost of ruin when patents fail or first versions don't work or development money runs out, all done by people who have an idea and pursue it. Just take the bit of metal in this pic - imagine the time and energy involved in getting to the point where a machine exists to cut and shape it, and the machine elsewhere which creates the rubber with the metal embedded. Humbling, I say.- Can I re-route a USB to my glovebox?
I want to plug-and-forget a USB stick containing all my music in MP3 format in the glovebox of my 2021 Scala SE TSi? Does anyone have a "recipe", as it were, that would not inflict too much trauma on either me or my vehicle, for making a USB socket available in this out of sight area? My previous car, a VW Jetta, had a USB socket in the glovebox - SO useful. Such a pity Mama Skoda did not copy this minor convenience across. In the area where I live, something as simple as a mem stick being visible in the existing USB socket is more than enough of an invitation to have your car broken into. (I could, of course, shove it out of sight somewhere each time, but it's not the same as "set-and-forget". I know...First World problems...🤣) Thanks in advance to the collective wisdom here on the wonderful Briskoda!!!- VRS Door Sill Protector - Manufacturing Fault
Big tip of the hat to Marshall's Skoda Oxford - faulty door seal replaced under warranty. Neat job, like new, quickly done.- So Scala owners, what do you think to your car ?
Sounds good. Thanks.- So Scala owners, what do you think to your car ?
Aaahhh! Right. Thanks for that clarification. Looks like a deal is on then. The price is good. Thanks for the tip - looks like a reliable source. However, I'm curious about these tags on the rubber mats which I have circled in red - see pic - they don't appear to correspond to anything on the floor of my 21 plate. Any thoughts?- So Scala owners, what do you think to your car ?

Suggestions please - best place/price for branded rubber front mats for my 21 plate Scala? Carpet simply doesn't work where I live - tree lined cul-de-sac that is a quagmire for 11 months of the year thanks to mother nature and a delinquent local authority. Thanks all!- Enyaq Wiper Blades Replacement
I humbly offer this random anecdote/question about wiper blades, purely for shared entertainment; what's the longest anyone has run a set? Before becoming a proud member of the Skodaratti, I drove a VW saloon, and I got nine years of heavy-weather motorway driving out of the set of blades that were in place when I acquired the vehicle as a two-year used. It's not that I was tight-fisted! They simply did the job! In year nine however they did become noisier than I could tolerate and so I decided that it was time for them to retire. As far as I could tell, when I took the old ones off, they were the factory fitted pair, so it's very probable that they did 11 years service in total. Never got snagged in an MOT either!- So Scala owners, what do you think to your car ?
Cheers. From research elsewhere I am starting to conclude that the rusted metal is part of the metal reinforcement which is apparently in a door seal. I have already got the Skoda dealer looking into it - watch this space.- So Scala owners, what do you think to your car ?

Happy Sunday folks. May I trespass on the collective wisdom of the Briskoda membership for a moment, in connection with a door seal matter. Please would you have a look at the attached photo - it's the bottom of the the driver-side inner door seal on my 10 days old 21 plate Scala. I have just read something online which prompts me to ask the following - is the rusted metal in this photo part of the car chassis, or is it just an integral part of the door seal? I read online a few minutes ago that some door seals have metal stiffeners in them. I have been fretting since I stumbled upon this damage a few days ago - but now I am wondering whether I am worrying needlessly. All advice welcome. (I stumbled on it, by the way, while vacuuming up the glass which sprayed everywhere when some scummer punched in the driver's window on only day seven of my ownership, but that's another story.)- Fixing door seal
Oh my sides! 😁 I have now established that hammer finish refers to the use of a soft-head mallet for installing the seal.- Fixing door seal
...and there's more; while contemplating the damage to my own driver side inner door seal, I read in the Skoda service manual a reference to a "hammer finish" door seal. Can anyone explain what is meant by a "hammer finish" door seal? Thanks in advance.- Fixing door seal
