so in theory the MKIII facelifts can run 255/35/R19 tyres on the 19” Extreme Wheels?

could you push to 245/35/R19 ?

Hi Folks, I’ve just bought a 2019 Skoda Octavia VRS Estate TDI 184ps 4x4. Ideally I would like to run the car on the 18”x8” Extreme Diamond Cut wheels with a 245/45/R18 but tbh I don't want to spend £500 on a new set and then have to sell the old set. I’m just trying to figure out what the widest tyre with the highest sidewall profile on a 19” wheel I can fit on the car is. I had set my sights on the 245/40/R19 and wondering if anyone has any experience with this size? I some folks have had success with a 235/40/R19.

Thanks for the reply! I prefer the look of wider tyres definitely but also their performance enhancements. The taller sidewall is purely to give the wheel a slight bit more protection for when I inevitably hit one of the many small craters on my local roads. It’s less about comfort and more about stopping the alloys getting wrecked lol I was considering the 18” wheel with a 245/40/R18 which is only slightly taller thanks the OEM size?

I understand that but I like the wheels it’s on and don’t fancy forking out at least £400 for a new set lol.

Been reading through the is topic. Has anyone tried a 245/40/R19 tyre on their Skoda Octavia VRS’s? I’ve a Skoda Octavia VRS 2019 TDI 4x4 DSG on the 19” wheel and would love to put these on.

So to be clear, will the 245/40/R19 mechanically fit the vehicle? I have seen elsewhere that at 245/45/R18 fits without issue on the MKII VRS models.

To be honest it’s more just to keep my OCD in check lol. Having your Odometer and Speedometer actuate is useful tho 😂

The car has come with 225/35/R19 which I believe is the OEM size. I’ve added a comparison chart between the 2 sizes. I plan to get a dyno tune done and the gent doing it can recalibrate the car to accommodate a tyre size change for little to no extra cost.

Hi guys! I’m a new proud owner of a 2019 Skoda Octavia VRS TDI (Estate) 4x4 DSG. I want to change the tyre size (as the roads around me are abysmal). I believe I’m on 19” wheels and I provisionally plan to move to 245/40/R19 sized tyres to give me a bit more purchase on the road and an extra few inches between the tyre and the rim for ride comfort. Can anyone confirm if this size of tyre will fit without causing any impingement issues? I’ll be getting the car recalibrated for these tyres whilst some other work is being done. Cheers!
