  1. Do a quick search, then ask away. If it has already been asked and discussed to death, one of the participants will reply with the link to the thread. Most on here are friendly and were in the same position themselves in the past. .
  2. Hi You need these https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0BNMDRWR6?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1 The only problem is you can only use one at a time. see I can connect the phone and close the lid. I have a second lead for the wife's phone, but she usually wants it in her hand so it doesn't matter that I can't shut the lid.
  3. That is strange As The Karoq is one of the more popular Škoda's and 10s of thousands on UK roads, it must be insurable (in the UK at least). My insurers LV had no problems with my 2024 (23mfr) SE L 1.5 manual.

Yes, post a photo of the ones you have otherwise no one is going to have any idea what you have.

At the bottom behind the iPhone holder there is a paddle/lever where it slots into the bit between the headrest bars. pull that forward, finger on each side is best, and the whole thing will come out leaving the plastic bar between the headrest bars. Then raise the headrest There is a sort of button on top in the middle pull the whole thing to rear of the car and it will fold in the middle and drop out. You can leave this in place as it will accept other accessories like the coat hangers.
  6. In the app go to Profile -> Paid Services The tere is Powerpass Plan, then Skoda Connect Services You should have : Care Connect - Remote Access Infotainment services. Both entries will show an active until date. tapping either will show you what you get on each.
  7. One thing I find it useful for is I can sit in from of my computer with a large screen, use Google Maps and then when I have worked out where I am going, enter it on the My Skoda App in comfort and then transfer it to the car when I am ready to go. Very much faster than f'ing about trying to do a route on the sat nave with a car full of people saying why aren't we are moving yet? The other thing is the traffic info on the maps updates quite fast (every few minutes?) and can recalculate routs on the fly then ask if I want the new route or not. The Driving data, speeds distances, fuel use, MPG etc is fun if you are a nerd/engineer/car nut or a bloke. The ability to lock is not something I have needed yet, but it is useful. The tracking is also good. However, it will also let you flash the lights and toot the horn. Again, after trying it once just to see I have not used them, but I can see many scenarios where they could be useful. Costs... they run discounts to entice you to sigh up/renew so have a look at renewal a few times but don't do it and see if you get a discount.
  8. That is what I also found but it is much easier to lift the bonnet. It is also easier to close (without dropping it) . I primarily got them because my wife could not open the bonnet without.
  9. They are good like that. You probably ended up with better quality nuts.
  10. Fitted them, but it is s low open, with help, and whilst it holds the bonnet open you can't use the original stay. BTW B&Q do a pack of 8 pads 35 x 24 that are exactly the right size for the end of the extension mounts. I assumed everyone used thread lock as they are not nylock nuts. Also mounted them the same way up as @10tenmen as it gives more clearance around the main bonnet mount at the bottom. Though I am wondering if they might line up better the other way around, like @Hdsn555 then they might have a more springy open.
  11. Thanks I know the stuff that you mean, we used it on one of our sofas.
  12. sounds like a good idea. Where did you get the adhesive felt?
  13. No, the seat end of the roller parcel shelf is fixed in position. There is a short flap on the sear side but if the seats are upright there is a gap. I will do some photos tomorrow. The roller cover is just cloth so unlike the hard one used with the 60/40 seats is less sound damping. However, I am told that this is only slightly noticeable in the back seats.
  14. Possibly, but I used to work on aircraft... SO you do always tend to think like that.
  15. I was going to say use thread-lock on the all the nuts Also, a good tip about the washers. That is why there are 4 supplied, I assume or did you mean use additional washers?
  16. As I said before, contact the seller, but I suspect your fastest solution is to go to a local (old-fashioned) garage or a scrapyard, and they will probably give you a couple of nuts.
  17. This is what I got. Two pistons, four bolts with ball ends, two nuts on the "ribbon" and two normal nuts. The black extension mounts use the bolt already on the bonnet. Does anyone have anything different?
  18. a very silly thing to post on the Internet :-) I will sort out my nuts in the morning and post a photo... I would contact the supplier. Though it might be easier just to pick up a couple of nuts from an local garage?
  19. Looking at the video, that appears to be the case... My set also arrived today and I have four bolts with ball ends. So one each end of the two struts. There are two nuts to bolt on to the upper end of the strut. Then the "ribbon" with a nut at each end for the lower end of the struts. The video about shows that the extension mounting arm would use the original nut to secure it. There are also four washers. These are not used in the video.... Any suggestions?
  20. I think you mean party B. Party B used Party A's CCTV to get a conviction and then sent a solicitors letter to stop Party A's CCTV covering their front garden. Also, the laws and as noted, Case Law changes all the time. So.... play nice with neighbours and work together. No need to involve local plod as they are not fully up to speed with the CCTV stuff. It's not their main concern. When the Police do need to get involved with CCTV they use specialist units which is a very different game. .
  21. The different colour is better for fog than the bright white. I was looking to fit high power LED in those positions as driving lights, not fog, as I rarely see fog here. However, it isn't worth the hassle.
  22. Absolutely! That is why you don't want to involve plod as they are not up on all this. They have far more important and urgent things to do and have to keep up on the ever-changing criminal laws. Also, this is a shifting quagmire and can be situational. What was right yesterday isn't today, but might be tomorrow. I did come across a case where Person A's CCTV recorded over Person B's front garden. Person B's car was broken into/damaged, and Person A's CCTV video was used to secure a conviction. Followed a couple of weeks after the conviction by a Solicitors letter from Person B demanding that Person A's cameras do NOT cover any of Person B's garden..... Allegedly a True Story™ (because I can't find the source)
  23. NOT true VarioFex seats, rail on BOTH sides and (now) 2 hooks on each side. (23Mfr, early 24 Reg SE L)
  24. Cue comments about the lady with you..... :-) I know what you mean, though. It would be fun in court, like something out of Allo, Allo. About half a century ago, I did know someone who got caught shagging a sheep.... I say "did know" we went to the same school and a few years later he got caught in a field by two police men with torches. The field was over a river on the side of the town. There was a footbridge and being a farming area prone to poachers, someone heard a sheep making a noise late at night. Assumed it was poachers, called the police, who went to investigate....
  25. I believe it was a speed van. A hand held speed gun can be challenged on that sort of reading +/- 2 mph For FAC I think it is down to the officer more than the force. It was very hit-and-miss if you pardon the pun. Lights... it depends on location. We are effectively a cul-de-sac with no through traffic. It is generally dark at night unless anyone comes down and then they get floodlit. If they have done any recce, they will know there are multiple cameras on multiple houses and multiple lights. The problem then is there is only one way back out for them.
