Maintaining battery while car is not driven for 4 weeks
I am not sure if I would do that these days. I would only put a charger on the Battery terminals. You have no idea how much electronics is between the battery and the 12V sockets these days.,

Maintaining battery while car is not driven for 4 weeks
That's because me and a mate "borrow it" to cross the county line, if you get my drift, whilst you are away. So it has a good run every week...... :-) On a serious point, I am looking at one of these https://shop.ringautomotive.com/rsc906-6a-smart-battery-charger-maintainer.html as they are the same cost as people say the Škoda main dealers charge for doing the same thing. Ie a top-up charge/recondition. I note it comes with croc clips and a set of O-ring terminals to an in-line plug. So I can put the o-ring terminal on the car permanently for a good connection, and it is easy to plug in the maintainer.

Skoda App maps not sending routes to car
There were upgrades to the Škoda App and over the last month a lot of hacking and cyber-warfare going on against many large retail company systems.VAG may also have been a target. That may have caused problems with the roll-out of the server side updates. More likely there was a defect in the server software that needed fixing, and a new version rolled out. The thing is it is not just one server there will be multiple servers, possibly one per country, so the roll-out may happen over several days. Or in this case it appears several weeks.

Karoq China Import – Can’t Change Language from Chinese to French
This would suggest that there will be a lot more physical differences. Therefore, different parts, compared to the European versions, with different (incompatible?) firmware . I worked with this outfit for a while (before they were taken over by PTC) https://www.ptc.com/en/products/pure-variants who, well over a decade ago, said that using their version management system no two Audi cars were identical. This would easily;y permit VAG to have efficient multiple variants across the whole VAG range. We know there are parts common to Škoda, Audi and VW This easily permits, as does conditional compilation and SW version management, the production of software and firmware variants for different markets. Therefore, the firmware produced for the Chinese models could be different from that used anywhere else. This could be designed to stop the Chinese exporting the cars. Either the factory via a cousins company, or adventurous distributors due to price differences. The problem is, legitimate dealers outside China won't deal with them. Well, not officially, maybe for a cash incentive? Cars these days are extremely complex electronics and software. The mechanical stuff is fairly straightforward, but you need to plug in a computer to do anything.... So buying a foreign car is nowhere near as sensible as it once was.

Karoq China Import – Can’t Change Language from Chinese to French
Thinking about it, there is a LOT of firmware in cars these days. It is not just the language, which is fairly easy to change, but different countries have different requirements on all sorts of things. Everything is "coded" to the car. Most modern cars now have over 150 MCU's (computers) in them, all with their own firmware and coded "id". That is, a Chinese ABS unit may l have a different electronic signature and ID to a European one. Some can be re-flashed, others can't. Even the ones that can, you are going to have trouble finding the firmware. Then you have the problem with the insurance..... "has this car been modified" to which the answer is "yes some unqualified person not working for VAG changed all the software." This will invalidate your insurance or raise the premiums A LOT. Remember, your insurance will have to cover the cost if you have an accident that kills for example 4 people or the ongoing medical costs of your passengers..... So it will cost you a LOT either way. IF they can get out of it because you didn't tell them, then you carry the cost personally.

Why import a Chinese build/spec Škoda to France?

Likewise, mine started working correctly this afternoon. No explanation from Škoda. Which is disappointing.

My ŠKODA App - Send Route
Hi All Škoda Drivers, you can now relax and not be concerned.... I can now send routes to the car again! Seriously it's weird. Tried this morning about 10ish outside Brum and nothing happened. Went to Brum and an hour or so later when leaving the route arrived! as I was on the M6. Got home and tried again, and it worked instantly.... iPhone with All 8.2.0 Škoda Karoq SE L 2024 with Amundsen, MiB3 and maps 25.1 I haven't changed my App or car SW (AFAIK) so it points to the VAG servers. Given they were pushing the "new" V8.2 App, that I already had It might suggest as mentioned by others that there was a slow roll-out of versions of SW on the servers. What a fun world.

My ŠKODA App - Send Route
That's possible if the update to the app got confused.... Though my app still talks to the car for status etc.

My ŠKODA App - Send Route
The map updates were working in Jan. Are there any later maps? The other thing is the dynamic traffic updates work fine. The send route to car only stopped a couple of weeks ago.

My ŠKODA App - Send Route
I knew that..... I was just asking for a friend who didn't :-) (thanks) Just looked, and I have Maps: 25.1 so the over the air updates are working. Same for me... I was thinking it was a backend problem but possibly due to cyberwarfare. There has been a lot of that going on recently, and VAG is a prime target for various reasons. Also, someone said there were reports of a similar problem with Seat so that might point to back end as the apps would be different, unless they all use the same model in the app? However, as the App said "sent to car" that would suggest it has connected the server and sent the payload the problem was more likely to be on the server. It seems patchy that some people on both Android 8.3.0 and iPhone 8.2.0 are reporting it has come back.....

Skoda App maps not sending routes to car
Someone mentioned an 8.3.0 for Android. 8.2.0 is the latest on iPhone. I have 25.1 Maps and it didn't work this morning. I am hoping that very soon it will work. I thing as mentioned elsewhere it is a back end server update problem and getting them all synced.

My ŠKODA App - Send Route
App 8.2 on iPhone. I updated it a few days (week or so) ago but got an email from Skoda saying to update to the latest version 8.2..... Maps. That is a good point:- Where do I find the Map version? I have a feeling it was 24.10 last time I looked. I assumed it will download over the air but as I dont use the car every day and often for only short trips 5-20 miles, with longer ones (80-150 every few weeks, it may not have had time to upodate?

Still not working for me (Yesterday, 14th May). Though now Reform UK have taken over the County Council, Staffordshire is no longer connected to the real world.....

My ŠKODA App - Send Route
Yes, several of us commenting on it in the electronics section of the forum that it seems to have failed over the last two weeks. Apparently SEAT cars also showing same problem. So it might be VAG wide? Possibly due to a cyberattack on VAG or, just as likely, a screw-up in the SW updates. The Škoda App has had a couple of updates recently. So it is a toss up. Of course, they may have removed it to see how many complain.

Skoda App maps not sending routes to car
Thanks! You have proper roads that far north? I suspect it is a glitch in updates and or the problems around the current cyberwarefare. There is a lot going on but not all in the news. I like to look at routes on a decent size 24" computer screen at my desk and then put the into the phone and then transfer to the car when we go. Much easier than sitting in the car faffing about with constant "why aren't we moving?" in my ear Mine is a 2024 Karoq 1.5 TSI SE L in the midlands.

Skoda App maps not sending routes to car
I don't think, so the App said "route sent to car" but unlike normal nothing arrived at the car.
-
Skoda App maps not sending routes to car
I am assuming a glitch with the app somewhere, there have been a couple of updates for it OTOH there have been a lot of Cyberattacks on corporate systems of late.

Skoda App maps not sending routes to car
Thanks. I am paid up until some time in 2026, but I wondered if anyone else had the app suddenly stop sending routes to the car… then again there has been a lot of cyber warfare going on of late. IT could be VAG servers that have had problems.

Skoda App maps not sending routes to car
Škoda Karoq SE L 2024 Amundsen MIB3(?) I have been sending routes from the Škoda App on my phone Been using it for about 5 months. Last worked about 2 weeks ago. Tried last night and again today and the app still says "sent to car" but it never arrives. Based in Midlands, UK if that makes any difference? All other information re traffic is updated dynamically.
