I found bubbles of rust under the rubber door seals on 2 doors. Perhaps you should take a look there too. I took it to the dealer as I have a 12 year corrosion warranty, but they rejected it. Said it passed under the 3 years paint warrenty, and my car had passed 3 years with 3 mounths................ I just found a bubble just in front of the rear wheel on the sill, probaly due to a small stone or similar. bgds Dan

Hi, Does this mean that any hub with 288mm brakes and 5x100 from any Golf, Leon, Polo etc will fit? It doesn´t have to be from a GTI or something? What about the splines on the driveshaft? It fits? Bgds Dan

I still have a few years left before reaching your age, but I can only say that you exactly right.. I love my tripot. Most of my driving is in the city and it is perfect. Quick and easy to drive and a perfect engine. When I bought it I tried the other models but went back to the tripod and have never regretted it. If you then add some Koni shocks, H&R springs and a Whiteline RARB you have yourself quite a funny car... Can only recommend it.... Bgds Dan
