  1. Mk4.5 vRS has a new infotainment unit and I've had absolutely no issues with it, none of the crashing and other issues assicated with the Mk4 (I suffered the same issues with my 2020 Cupra Ateca). Reversing camera also standard on the base vRS. If infotainment and reversing camera are two of your primary concerns then getting the Mk4.5 alleviates both.
  2. My vRS is my 2nd automatic after the Cupra Ateca I had before it. These are my first automatic cars and I wouldn't go back to a manual now and lots of people say the same. There might be still a demand for manual gearboxes but it's certainly decreased.
  3. Also bear in mind that the fuel tank capacity plays a part. I was surprised my Mk4.5 vRS only has a 50 litre capacity. Golf R Estate is 55 litres, Cupra Leon Estate also 55 litres. My wife's Audi Q3 is 60 litres!
  4. Random one I discovered over the weekend - With the interior light on, if you touch and hold your finger on the plastic that the bulb is housed in, the light dims to a lower brightness.
  5. I think the base vRS is £41k now on Skoda website. Was just under the £40k with no options in March when I got mine.
  6. ‘Laura’ is also voice activated, don’t need to single press the steering wheel button. Wake phrase is ‘Okay Laura’
  7. Did you have any luck figuring this out?
  8. Has anybody else found the front windscreen on the Mk4.5 quite prone to condensation along the bottom compared to other cars? I don’t think I have a moisture problem as other windows don’t steam up but as we’ve started to move towards winter I’m finding I have to have warm AC on the front windscreen even when it’s not particularly damp weather.
  9. Check the small print of your VWFS paperwork, it will be in there. Different lenders have different specifications. Some might say ‘same specification’ in which case providing you use the same dimensions, speed rating etc then that should satisfy. On my Cupra Ateca that went back in April before I got the vRS, I’m pretty sure it said the tyres must be an ‘equivalent premium brand’ but that was financed by Santander. Regardless of the terms I only use premium tyres anyway personally.
  10. Moving away from aero covers for a moment, does anyone know what this is? Had the car valeted this week and the guy puts anything he finds into the glovebox for safe keeping. This was in the glovebox after the valet but he can’t remember where he found it.
  11. Contacted the dealership who asked me to go to my nearest Skoda approved bodyshop. Turned out there was one only 10 minutes drive so I popped down with it. They confirmed it was a defect and not damage, but thought it would be worth trying to machine polish out. They did it whilst I waited and it worked fine, no sign of the imperfection any more so all sorted unless it comes back!
  12. For sale. 20 sets of Mk4.5 aero covers. Price - negotiable. Contact - anyone in this thread 😄
  13. Nope I wouldn’t say so. They sit inside the outer edge of the alloy.
  14. There’s a little tool in the boot to hook behind and pull them off but I just pulled them off by hand. Think you are just supposed to pull from as close to the middle as possible. Came off easy enough.
  15. These are the ones I got…. https://amzn.eu/d/eIbN1EN https://amzn.eu/d/dqiZfXt
  16. Hi all, Had my 3 month old Mk4.5 vRS valeted today. Valeter has noticed some bubbling in the paint on the front towing eve cover and nearby on the front bumper. There’s no damage or stone chips, this is directly under the top layer on the paintwork. Has anybody seen this before? Is it a manufacturing defect and am I likely to have any issue getting Skoda to rectify? I’m worried about it getting worse more than anything. Photo attached. Thanks!
  17. Took the aero covers off I see 😄 Had mine since April. Mines getting valeted this week and mine are coming off too. Centre caps and nut covers arrived yesterday.
  18. Was going to suggest the sunglasses holder too. Had a rattle last week that was driving me mental. I was adamant it was coming from the passenger door pocket or glove box, the Mrs was adamant it was coming from my side of the car. Eventually realised it was the sunglasses. It's mad how only hearing it in my left ear really screwed with my perception of where the sound was coming from!
  19. In some ways they're largely pointless with KESSY vehicles as the key stops trasnmitting after 1 minute anyway so they aren't as vulernable to a relay theft. If you want to stop your car being taken the best thing you can do is make sure you have anti-snap locks fitted to your doors, and I say this from experience. In 2022 I got a new Cupra Ateca and within 6 months there was an attempt to steal it. They didn't even attempt the relay theft (because they'd have known the key wouldn't be transmitting at 3am) and instead tried to get in for the keys. They failed front and back because we the locks are anti-snap and they couldn't get past them. About 15 minutes later a Golf R was stolen a quarter of a mile away after they forced the lock of the back door in seconds. If the thieves are committed enough then they'll come for the keys, so make sure they can't get in!
  20. Had my Mk4.5 vRS since last Friday. Got the Estate in Race Blue. Couple of school runs and shopping on Friday but just back from a 2 night trip to the Lake District from Southport which is about 150 mile round trip. Pretty happy so far, handles well with plenty of power when you need it. Hard to actually objectively review it having spent the last 3 years in a 22 plate Cupra Ateca so feel I'm just comparing against what I had before it all the time so at the moment I'm either "This feature is better than the Cupra" or "That feature was better in the Cupra" etc. Can't decide whether to remove the aero covers off the wheels but may well do.
  21. Aero covers. I don't like them either and when my VRS arrives next Friday I'm planning on removing them. The wheels look so much better without. Only thing to bear in mind if removing them is you'll need some wheel nut covers and centre caps as it doesn't have them underneath the aero covers. Nut covers: 000071215PUZ7 Centre caps: 5E0601151 FOD
  22. I believe it clips onto this?
  23. They hook into the silver bar of the load cover
  24. Of course, but what I meant is that from what I've seen in this forum and elsewhere, Skoda cars sold in the UK don't always have the same features as the same models sold elsewhere. The bull horn rear headrests being one example. We don't get them in the UK but elsewhere in Europe does.
