  1. I've just done this in vcds after replacing the rear springs. Not a huge difference in the numbers or the drive ('normal' setting still feels underdamped). At least I know it's set up correctly.
  2. Yes I saw that and I've put mine in the same place after removing the (huge) subwoofer. I 3D printed a tray for the battery and secured it from both sides with a ratchet straps and it's solid. I couldn't find any signal which becomes live only when the engine is running so I've defaulted to a terminal 15 connection in the fusebox so on with ignition. Just need to never leave the ignition on. It seems to work ok.
  3. Hi, I'd like to install a second (leisure) battery to use during a 4 week camping tour this summer. I see there's a factory option for this which located a battery in the rear left boot but that option is not fitted in my car which is a 2017 L&K estate. I've ordered a battery-to-battery charger which is compatible with smart alternators but it needs an 'enable' signal from the car to tell it when the engine is running and power is available. A bit of searching suggests the BCM likely has an output for this purpose, enabled in vcds by "MAS01490-ENG142037-Energy management-Zweitbatterie". I searched the wiring diagrams on fixmycarinfo.com hoping to identify the connector and pin but couldn't see any mention of the second battery option. Has anyone done this or can suggest how to identify whether the signal should be available ? People doing this on VW T6 vans who found the second battery wiring in Erwin and used it for this purpose : https://forums.ross-tech.com/index.php?threads/23023/ Thanks.
  4. Is there any way to temporarily turn it off ? It tried to eat me about 6 times during my cam install...
  5. Yesterday I fitted a reversing camera. I set off the 'virtual pedal' whilst in the boot and ended up shut inside and had to shout for my family to let me out. 😂🤔😂
  6. Thanks, I nearly walked onto the same problem you did. Well-meaning wrong advice is worse than no advice. Cheers
  7. Hi all, sorry to revive an old thread, it looks like this issue was solved by fitting the updated / redesigned trailing arm hydro-bushes 3Q0505541A as below, is that correct ? My newly acquired MY2017 DCC car has a soft knocking from the rear over small bumps / uneven surfaces so i guess it's likely this.
  8. I'm glad I came across your post as I'd have just taken other people's instructions at face value (disconnect shock, lower hub gently on both sides) and expect it to work. Did you figure out what else needed disconnecting or did you take it to a garage in the end ?
  9. You think 3Q0 511 115 AK or -AL won't be different enough stiffness and also maybe will sit too high because they're designed for heavier cars ? I was hoping just going up a weight range or two would do the trick.
  10. Thanks Pete 👍🏼. So I've seen lots of people talking about springs too soft, sagging rear under load and bottoming out, is it sensible for me to just go up one in load range and go for 3Q0 511 115 AK and expect a slightly firmer ride without any change to the ride height ?
  11. Aah great, thank you. I did miss your offer during that message overlap. Apparently I'm not allowed to direct message people until a certain number of posts. Is it ok to post my vin in the open forum ?
  12. I'm L&K with DCC, not sportline.
  13. @Carlston Hi, I wonder if you can help me identify what springs I need for the rear of my 2.0 tdi manual estate l&k with DCC please ? I've broken a spring on the back and want to get the correct ones. I have blue & brown dots on the front springs, been told by suppliers using my vin I need 3Q0511115AJ but that appears to be extra soft and I'm not confident this is correct, plus I'll be loading the car up with gear. I've looked through some of the other threads where you've advised on similar and I've found a big list of options on the lllparts site but I don't understand what the codes (PR:1JP+0YC etc..) mean against the million different spring options https://www.lllparts.co.uk/catalogs/skoda/CZ/SUP/851/5/511/511010 thanks in advance :)
  14. I've done some searching trying to find a tool that can tell me the spec from my vin and drawn a blank. I looked at those ETKA parts catalogues and found drawings but all the spring variants were listed. I literally haven't a clue what springs i need. I hear the L&K is lower than standard but when i look at retailers like autodoc there's a great long list and I've no idea which are correct, and I've no confidence my garage will get the right ones either.
  15. I already called my local Skoda dealer but they refused to tell me the part number. Pretty sad really.
