2018 1.0 TSI CHZC Pre facelift Engine Oil
Hi , As I always carry a litre of engine oil in the boot I could find no reference to what engine oil was on the last service. My wife went shopping with her credit card and I went to the dealership that supplied my car to enquire re oil grade. The salesman was honest when I asked but he spoke to the technician who actually service my car and he came out to speak to me. He told me that Skoda had requested cars that run on 0 W 20 are changed over to 5 W 30.He then told me that they cannot supply 1 litre top up oil because they use to purchase 1 litre pack of oils x 10 that cost them a fortune and they then had to dispose of the plastic cartons. They now purchase lubricant in bulk. At the next service I asked what engine oil was being used in my car and I was told that Skoda had requested that 0 W 20 be used. All oil used manufactured by Castrol who confirmed the above in writing to me. I use correct engine as recommended by the car manufacturer. Reason is a friend of mine has a Yeti 4 x 4 auto diesel.Wife driving along in mid Wales and the turbo blew up resulting in a £6000.00 bill for an engine rebuild. His cars are serviced to the book but what caused the failure who knows but I would suggest incorrect engine oil is near the top of the list.

2018 1.0 TSI CHZC Pre facelift Engine Oil
Hi , my Superb 1.5 Tsi auto currently runs on 0 W 20 engine oil ( Castrol LL but on an annual service plan. The car came from the factory will the same oil. On the cars fifth service I was told that Skoda had given an instruction to the dealer to use 5 W 30 on this service. On the next service re engine oil fill once again is 0 W 20. The engine uses no engine oil between services ( 3000 miles ) The engine tick over noise is the same ( to me ) When possible I use Shell V Power and slight improvement in mpg. I really use V power to keep the internal engine components clean !

Schedule Service replacement parts list
Hi , My Superb is a 1.5 Tsi auto 2019 pre facelift model. My car has a full Skoda history ( I hope ) and has covered 37000 miles. The car is on a fixed mileage annual service plan but has the 0W20 LL engine oil. I wrote to Skoda UK who says an gear box oil is not recommended as the gearbox is sealed for life ! I spoke to the Skoda dealer supplier of my car and a specialist service centre who both point plank refused to service the gearbox.dq200. I have thought about the cinero and come to the conclusion : I you run the car up to 120000 miles and then change the gearbox mineral the following may happen. The supplying Skoda dealer I believe does not know how to do the gearbox service ! A ) Sludge will be stirred up causing issues to the ECU and possibly writing the gear box off. B) Do nothing and pray. C) No doubt the service regimes are for the first three years when fleet customers pay the bill or not as the case my be. I not really happy that Skoda UK won't allow the gearbox to be serviced but no doubt refuse to pay for renewal of gear box if failure occurs. PS They will allow the gearbox to be serviced if the car is used in a dusty environment !

Rear seat covers (For Dog)
Hi , Superb 2019 SEL Executive 5 door. My car has a leather interior so not my preferred method. We have a Red Labrador: my solution Install a waterproof tailored rubber floor. Across the rear seat ( boot side ) I have fixed a flexible tool bag. On both sies of the boot acquired again an anti splash sheet tha also protect the rear bumper. The car has three secure fixing points and I can attach his full body harness. He seems very happy travelling in the boot. PS I removed the hatch cover and slid it into it location station prior to attaching water proof covers. Hope that gives you a few ideas

Lane Assist and ACC
Hi , I only engage ACC on a motorway that is not over busy. When I first had my Superb I used I used the function most of the time on motorways but rarely use it now. The reason is quite straightforward , the system worked well , too well and I found the experience rather daunting and the car continually adjusted speed with to suit road continually heavy breaking. I really find blind spot really useful

Res Delete on 2018 Skoda Superb (2.0 Petrol)
My previous pride and joy was a V6 3.5 litre quad cam , twin turbo and intercooled engine. I only had the nerve to floor the throttle once and full chat the engine sounded gorgeous when going through the auto box. The car had the extra sports exhaust and no idea how it sounded but the car flew. My Superb has trouble putting down it's 150 bhp so no more thrilling noises for me. Think I am correct on saying the Skoda 1.5 Tsi produced more power than the original Rover V8 in the late 1960s.

Blade SKODA Gloucester
Hi , Well the company is Mons Skoda Gloucester. I had to purchase a car narn quick.A friend of mine runs Skoda cars in his fleet and generally pleased with the cars. I tried a Skoda 1.5 Tsi auto in the Birmingham area and while a good example but flat as a pancake. I saw my current car at Skoda Gloucester and went down straight away and left a fully refundable deposit. The following day early I returned to look at the car in detail. The car is a non face lift Skoda Superb 2019 1.5 Tsi auto and it went like **** of a shovel in comparison to the first example I tried. Full service history and a one owner car. Agreed to a few minor issues and Heritage went through the preparation of the car prior to handover. The preparation work included the next service and the car would be MOT ed. On the day of collection the car was waiting for me on time. I received all the full Skoda service history and the preparation they had carried out. I was really surprised that they had replaced both front and rear discs and pads but hey ho ! The hand over took a hour and the car came with three keys. The internal clean up was a good as a new car and the same eternal clean again really good. The car had had a factory recall about hesitation and if being really picky you could occasionally feel it. Hopefully I have cured the problem by changing to Shell V Power.A friend of mine works for a VW distributor and he told me most VW group engines in his experience run better on 99 octane petrol. In the two years I have owned the car really pleased with the vehicle and the garage to my have excelled. If you are not happy with your current service arrangements suggest you contact Mons Skoda Gloucester. Oh yes payment was painless !

Trickle charger
Hi , as others have said C- Tec are the go to battery charger / conditioner. On my charger a series of lights inform you as to the battery condition. Car alternators don't fully charge car batteries so that is why occasionally I connect the charger to the battery ( see hand book for fitment instructions) I don't have the nerve to kook up battery and leave.

0W-20 or 5W-30?
Hi Nigel , Thanks for your heads up on the topic. Both the specification of oils are approved by VW for use in the 1.5 Tsi engine. I believe , correctly or incorrectly that quality engine oils are paramount for benefit of reliable engines. On the service plan I have the oil is changed annually or in my case every 3000 miles. My only experience with long life engines also was a 1.9 diesel VW Passett to be serviced every 15000 miles. The company I worked for purchased 30 cars and most of the engines drank engine oil , it did not help but the company representatives had to buy the oil and claim the cost back through monthly expense claims. The oil in 1 litre bottles cost £15.00 each that in 80000 miles I purchased 2 litres of oil. Most of the other reps went to the cheapest source and just oil in from any source they could , to the specification but of questionable quality. VW understandably where not happy bunnies and checked the oil specification and found only one engine to be running on approved engine oil. ( My company car ) No idea what the outcome was because I left the company. That is why I regiously only used quality engine oil.

0W-20 or 5W-30?
My 2019 Surperb fitted with the 1.5 Tsi engine. The service history states the car has used the 0W20 from its first engine oil change at 250 miles. When I collected the car the Skoda dealership serviced the car prior to collection and filled the engine with 5W30 oil at the request of Skoda. On the next service the engine oil used to service the car was filled with 0W20. The car is on the annual service plan but uses the LL oil specification. The car has used no oil in 4000 miles. However , please be aware that my driving style is moderate so no Italian tune ups etc etc but I sit in the nearside lane of the motorway at 70 mph. Please bear with me but I use Shell V power petrol to hopefully keep the engine internal parts clean. When I collected the car the master technician said we would love to service your car but if you go another service centre make sure the correct engine oil is used.Any problems with the engine normally happens when the incorrect engine oil is used.
