  1. Years ago I had a Saab 99 that eat front discs for breakfast. I complained to the Saab dealer who suggested that they fit taxi pads as a trial. Problem solved. Do Skoda have taxi pads for Skoda cars
  2. Hi pink panther , That experience must have been concerning to say the very least. If I was in your position I would report the issue to Skoda UK and see what they say.
  3. My car 2019 Superb 1,5 Tsi over 310 miles of mixed driving and only a small percentage on the motorway achieved 50.9 mpg according to the computer. Checked oil level today and no movement on the levels. Engine oil 0-20 looked clean.
  4. As I stated on my previous transmission I stated I would comment on the FM service. Considerable better with no loss of service and the sound / quality was fine.
  5. Hi , car has covered 38000 miles. All three just state the gearbox oil change is not required. Re the sport mode I understand that the change will be at a higher RPM but the gear box change is not good coming down the box. Appreciate your reply
  6. My Superb Tsi 1.5 has the DSG hear box and Skoda say the gear box oil change is not necessary , Skoda dealer won't change the oil and an independent service centre refuse to change the oil ! The gear box gear change is not as good as it could be and in sport mode the gears do appear to hang on !!
  7. Returned from Wiltshire today and the service on the cars DAB + radio was patchy to say the least. Will be trying the FM service next and see what the reception is like
  8. My 2019 Superb 1.5 Tsi auto runs on 18" wheels and on a good run returns 51 mpg. Driving style is not aggressive but not a slow coach.
  9. Hi , can I assume that you are talking about DAB+ reception. I love in the Worcester area and I find the similar problem : My previous car was a Mercedes C207 that had a Harmon Kardon system fitted.Locally the black spots are terrible with the system.in my model year 2019 Skoda I had the black spots issue in my Mercedes in exactly the same locations. From my experience I don't that DAB+ radio is an enjoyable experience
  10. Hi , my last car was a Mercedes C207 that had a Harmon Kardon 12 speaker system installed. How did it sound , nothing special for a premium German brand. You are correct in saying that the installation is paramount.Whilst my wife went shopping I listened to the system in my car and for the purchase price of the car 28 k and the Mercedes was 56 k I feel the skoda system representatives value for money. I suppose I could change the speakers ( If enough room ) but not really into that modification.
  11. Hi , I feel it adds to the thread but that's your right to disagree. As I stated the system in my car does a job and but sound is certainly not awful to my old ears. I believe that the car has a major influence on the sound produced just as the room in a hi fi system is critical
  12. Hi , thank you for your reply. Lights are Hella and states a big A at the end of the part number. Once again thanks for your help.
  13. Hi , appreciate your reply. My car is technically the preface lift Superb ! I have emailed Skoda UK re the headlights in general on my car so I wait and see what the reply.
  14. Those tyres are cheap !
  15. Hi , although I have eyelashes ( the car ) I don't think my car has smart light assist. I have tried every thin but no success to make them work. !
  16. Hi , I have a 2019 Superb SEL Executive that has the sound system that comes with the car. I find sound is subjective and in all honesty I find the overall experience satisfactory and while the music will never win any oscars it does a job. My previous car had a Harman Kardon system and not really sure if the sound was better !
  17. Hi , I have a C tek battery charger that has 8 stages of charge and find as you say simple to use. From memory C Tek suggest that you charge the battery every couple of months to keep the everything in order.
  18. Hi , really interested to read your appraisal of your new car. My previous cra had an intelligence lighting system and the faster you drove the greater the range of the head lights I totally agree with the comment regarding the car headlights , Bi Xenon and they are awful , not far of dangerous IMO. The headlights are really bright to look at but don't illimate the road. I don't really use the car on the winter so not a major issue.
  19. Hi both , thank you for your replies. I have a feeling that it could be user error might re the issue ; how to feel a bit of a prat on my case. My parking area is on a slope and my wife has to open her door together out of the car. When she does that the car won't automatically restart but it's works perfectly when I stop and restart when the door is not opened !!
  20. Hi , When my car is being driven with the stop start engaged and the car comes to a halt and the engine stops but when the car dries to start the dash sign comes up saying Start the car manually ! Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated
  21. Hi 337 , I friend of mine acquired a Skoda Superb some years ago in similar circumstances to your purchase. Your car has been MOT twice so all appears to be working. I purchased a Mazda Xodus 6 that was 3 years old with 1800 miles on the clock from a Mazda dealership. Couple of years ago I was in a Mercedes dealer and they had on show an early example of an E class salon with 50 miles on the clock. 👍
  22. Hi , although new have a new alternator on your car they don't fully charge the battery. On stop start does not work until engine temp correct , the brain might not let the a/c engage. Just a thought
  23. Hi , sorry taking time to reply to your question. I do stand to be corrected on my reply : Standard car alternators do not charge the battery to 100 % so I have a CT5 smart charger they goes through an 8 stage charging process that recharges close to the target value of 100 % and then goes into a holding pattern to keep fully charged. To date no issues with the screen but early days.I don't have a black line on the screen but it breaks up. I don't use my car often and it well be that with all the toys turned on and a low battery break down occurs. Keep you in the picture. Android items I have are mobile phones.
