1.4TSi DSG advice needed
The 1.4TSi DSG doesn't drink oil, nor problems with MOT, but it has problems of it's own, if you can bare. Unlike the 2008 Honda Civic, the 1.4 TSi DSG are equipped with high amount of electronic sensors, which tend to become annoying after a while with unimportant but annoying error messages on the dashboard, even the car's onboard computer putting it into "limp mode". I'd advise you to buy one which is, still under warranty as authorized service stations don't do their job properly and bugs start pouring out of it once you own it (and I'm sure those service stations are just awaiting for you to come through their door). Over the years most Skoda drivers have either got used to the bugs or given up, just like I plan to do soon. If you decide to go Skoda, I hope that you have strong patience and a thick wallet whilst dealing with electronic malfunctions of gadgets that you didn't even know existed. If something is cheaper than expected, there must be a reason for it.

Particulate filter regeneration required on a 1.4 TSi PHEV
Until today I wasn't able to regen as the weather was around -12C. It started giving other errors related to the GPF. DTC P2084. When it started giving error on the dashboard, I connected my OBD2 and got the code. I first wiped the DTC log, then went driving in the motorway at 100 kmh for about an hour, revving around 2500 rpm. I was just about to give up after an hour, it displayed the message "You need to run the engine for longer" . Eventually, I gave up as the oil temp didn't go higher than 85C (and the outside temperature was around -9C). I remembered our discussion about the AC, so I switched off the AC heater, just allowing the plain old heater. Then the magic happened! It cleared. Even the DTC P2084 did not revamp. Let's see how it goes tomorrow.

OBD2 Tool
I've been reading that many users have been using OBD11 branded OB2 readers. As the pricing on obd11 is a bit pricey, I'm wondering if there's any other OBD readers out there that can do the same task at the lower cost 😉 I have a odb2 reader which I got from AliExpress couple of years ago, whilst using Car Scanner ELM OBD app, but it hasn't been able to catch any error codes. So I am presuming there may be a special device for VAG vehicles.

Error: drive system. Please visit workshop
Whilst browsing the forums for this error, I realized that it is quite common. The funny part is I was just going into the motorway, and the car try to go into limp mode while displaying error message "Error: drive system. Please visit workshop". Instinctively, as there were cars behind me I very quickly put the car into S mode and continued driving. Interestingly couple of seconds later, the error message disappeared and the car continued to work normally. I really started to feel vulnerable with this car. Will these weird error messages ever stop? How's the car automatically connects to the service station and transmits the error message, I expect them to call in a couple of days I guess. From the forums that I've read, it generally seems like a bug. I'm just wondering if anyone really did have anything with drive system. Ps. From time to time, whilst driving it slow speed, I do feel like the transmission is slipping while changing gears. I just wonder if it's related to that. 2022, 1.4 TSI PHEV Combi.

What year did the software issues stop ?
I have to disagree on that. Before the Octavia, I had a 2022 VW T-ROC 1.0 TSI and I never had problems like I have seen on the Octavia. I just got caught in the attraction of it being hybrid. To be honest I feel I've made a mistake.

What year did the software issues stop ?
It never stopped 😠As others stated, many bugs are fixed, but it just continue on. I have never seen a mainstream car with so many bugs. It's been 6 months since I bought my car, I already start to feel that I already had enough. The equation is quite simple: if you buy something cheap, what you going to get this quite cheap too. If you are a type of person who gets annoyed by stupid mistakes made by the manufacturer, are you advise you to go and buy a Volkswagen and don't waste your time and energy on a product made by a couple of short-sighted engineers.

Particulate filter regeneration required on a 1.4 TSi PHEV
That's a big problem for me over here. I am only 200 km away from the Arctic circle. Current temperature is -5C and we call it hot, but trying to heat up the exhaust to 300C in this weather at high speed is a big challenge (although we have studded tires, I dare not speed). Would it have an impact on the car if I wait until the summer 😂 or would it be get it done at some service point?

You're correct putting into S mode would allow you to control the RPMs. I am driving around 30 km per day, mostly in hybrid mode. I'm just wondering if the air conditioning has affect on this as the temperatures are around minus 5° C and -18° C. Yesterday I tried to regenerate the GPF just as you described above. The light didn't go off.

Particulate filter regeneration required on a 1.4 TSi PHEV
Okay I'm a bit dumbstruck today as I got an error message displaying on my Octavia MK4 1.4 TSI PHEV Combi as I always thought DPF (particulate filter) only existed on diesel vehicles. The dashboard is displaying "particulate filter regeneration required" refer to the vehicle wallet message! Am I missing something here? Or doesn't mean something else?

Coldstart noises from ICE - 2022 Octavia Mk 4 1.4 TSI PHEV
In cold mornings, when the ICE starts, I'm hearing weird ticking sounds coming from the engine bay, like clattering. The sounds fade away once the engine warms up. Any idea what it can be ? I did read from a user that it was common in these models, but I could not find more information on it.

2021 Vrs Phev battery range
Heater, air conditioning, seat/steering wheel heaters, window/mirror heaters, they all eat the battery and they eat it pretty fast. In the summer I do about 48 km and about 25 km in the winter. That's why I switch on the hybrid mode constantly to manage it.

Battery problems after firmware update
In my case, the battery drained before the firmware update. It totally blacked out. Skoda road service took the car today service station after jump starting it. If I knew what I know now then, I would have jump started the car, started the ICE, then enabled the recuperation and drove the car around for a couple of hours. It would have solved my problem. I advise you to do the same. If you ask why this has happened to you, just like me, you probably always driving the elecrtic mode, short distances during the day. As the car doesn't recuperate enough in short distances, the 12 volt battery is under risk of draining out itself. If you search the forums on this site you will find several people who experienced the same.

Changing Car Battery
Few months back my 12V battery went totally empty and got stuck in a car park with no power at all. As inspectorman said, it's a good idea to connect a voltmeter under the hood. These days I have a spare booster battery pack (10000ma) in my trunk for bad surprizes. If you are driving only short distances, I'd advise you to switch on the recurperation.

Error: selector lever...
I think everyone's do. At least, mine does it when I switch on the engine and when I switch off the engine, even in P position.

12 V battery is being discharged. Please start the engine.
I own a MK4. I wish I had this message displayed on the dashboard from time to time. As I usually driving e-mode, I never suspected what was to come. Couple of months ago, when to drive battery was actually full, I got into the car but nothing was working. It was a total blackout. Eventually I got the car towed away in service. The flimsy 12 volt battery under rear seat had gone flat as I had been driving short distances for the whole week and not enough recuperation was done. Due to this, eventually the 12 volt battery went flat. I would advise you to switch on the recuperation manually whenever you see that message and drive around with it on for a couple of days so that the 12 volt battery charges. Nowadays I'm driving around with a small booster battery in my trunk.

Climate control on PHEV
My question is about the climate control scheduling on the My Skoda app. Actually to be precise, I am a bit worried about what battery it uses to use the climate control / air conditioning. As we have pretty cold mornings over here (-25C even) I'd like to preheat the car before entering it. I have the subscription for it. But once for whatever reason, the 12 volt battery went flat, so I just want to make sure Does it use the 400 volt drive battery or the flimsy 12 volt that is under the back seat while running the air condition on program?

mHEV and auto start/stop
I was just like you. I switched to a Phev in hope that it would last me for at least 5 years. Although I am at certified techie, I am already too confused and annoyed. It looks like Skoda has been experimenting on it's customers. The car is full of tech junk, that just becomes a burden. I mean, a car should fit into the requirements of the user and not the other around. I'm sure I'm one of the thousands of people who switches off the lane assist and other weird features every time you turn on the engine. Nowadays I'm driving around with a backup battery in case of that little battery runs out on me as I'm driving 40 minutes or less during the day. Not to mention that when it's in automatic hybrid mode it just drains the battery; when you turn off the automatic mode, it keeps on and off the ICE needlessly. Oh yes, not to mention that I need to switch off the radio every time I start the engine as it keeps on turning it on every time. The list just goes on and on. I've had the car for about 3 months now and I am nearly out of patience.

Pay to Park & Fuel
Hi, I'm wondering if any of you are out there using the My Skoda app's "Pay to park and fuel" option. For those who use it, is it cheaper to use this app? Or??
