Who or what is the biggest threat to SKODA?
Yes, that's indeed what I mean. I agree the new ones are quite expensive now. Unfortunately, i also do not see that much of an alternative in this market unfortunately...

Who or what is the biggest threat to SKODA?
I Think over the last 10 years, Skoda carved out quite a nice segment for itself, all the models from the last 10 years look good, are affordable and drive reasonably well. For someone like myself, Id prefer a sporty driving station car(the first car i drove when i had a license was an Alfa 159 sw). However, since the demand of SUVs increases over the years, i believe this segment is a dying breed, except for the top line models of very expensive german brands and tuners, like the RS6 or or alpina B5. Hope skoda keeps on making these awesome station cars for the upcoming years, since for the price, there is little competition.

2020 Montecarlo 48,000 miles
Which engine is fitted to your Fabia? I can only speak for the 1.2TSI, i bought it at 75.000km (50k miles), so about the mileage you are on now (it was 5y old when i bought it, built in 2015). After 5 years, it’s on 205k km (127k miles) In this time, i had only 2 issues, being a broken valve actuator, setting me back around 300 euros, and a leaking waterpump (this set me back around 600 euros General maintenance is quite cheap, depending on how confident you are in doing your own maintenance. I run longlife oil that i change every year since I drive around 20-30k per year (15-20k miles). Spark plugs are replaced about every 60-70.000km(40/45k miles) and set you back 150-200 euros at a garage, or 40(regular plugs)-80 euros(iridium plugs) if you do the maintenance yourself. Brake pads last you about 50-65k km(35-40k miles) km (depending on your driving style of course). My discs are generally worn after 2 sets of pads. At 250K, i’m planning to have the timing belt replaced. Depending on the wear, replacing the clutch at 250k km or 300k km may be necessary since mine is a manual. Never replaced the gear oil until now, have not heard about anyone replacing it with an dsg/automatic. I have no experience with the Skoda maintenance package/service plan Tbh, since i do most of the work myself. Hope this helps!

AC/Blower fan irregular air flow - Climate control
Hi All, Since the days are getting hotter, and It is actually necessary to cool the inside of my car down a bit, I observed an issue with my AC/ Blower fan. I have looked things up on resetting the valves of the climate control system, however this did not really help in the end. The problem occurring is a very irregular airflow, sometimes blowing very hard, sometimes blowing very slowly. however, especially at max blower speed, you can hear the blower running at high RPM. What is even stranger, is that as soon as I switch to recirculation mode, the airflow of my interior fan is normal again. Curious if any of you have experiences this problem before, and have any idea on possible problems. I came to the following most likely possible problems: Something is blocking the interior air intake. However, i would need an endoscope to find out... Faulty interior intake mass flow sensor (does the fabia even have one??) other suggestions very mutch welcome! Looking forward to your help on the forum!

A TSB from Skoda on cold start behaviour with 1.2 TSI's. Something that Dealership Employees should be able to explain to customers.
Observed this before indeed. Did not bother me that much, but i was curious if this was only my car or this was a regular thing... My car is parked in a garage nowadays, and this is indeed more prevalent then when i parked it on the street the last few years.
